Just got back in after seeing to the bunns.

The bookings I have... bunns and then 2 actual house sittings. One wouldn't have anyone else but me, (they are even planning their house move around the area I would cover), and the other one probably wouldn't either, both established. I will pass on any new bookings, plus I have already cancelled one.

I will be clearer headed tomorrow after a sleep I think...will pop round to garage blokey and have another chat and will look again on Autot!ader...

I can't think straight right now.

As far as the insurance people are concerned they have paid me for car so it's all settled. I never expected it to be so quick tbh. They've given me an extra day, it was meant to go back tomorrow.

Will consider calling a friend and the one relative I speak to! I'm sure others will help me out, I just need to ask...asking is so hard for me.

Thanks for all the ideas! :A

    Morning peoples...

Hope the car hunting is fruitful today byatt..if we lived near each other if you took me to work and back you could have my car....anyone you know works night shift? so not using it during the day when a t work?

Right....Mr.kiss kiss sparky is coming this morning to do the outside security bulb...and I suppose I should get the front door bell fixed...although reluctant to have this in working order if honest...may have to fix it so I can switch off when wanted as I had in the old place.

SO.....i've got ready.....am sporting a fantastic make-up job, new dress, and my black suede thigh high boots.........kidding. I'm in old rags as going to finally clean out car interior .

My mother is becoming increasingly upset at the state of my car......so as going down to see her tomorrow I thought I would tidy it up a bit.....sort of an early mothers day present.....lol.

This could take a while, and I may need a search party to find me later...I dread to think what's in there...I know there are pans etc from last year's festival visit and a pair of curtains from when I moved last summer....!!.....and all the 'kits' of things I have amassed....i may finally get to try out the tyre pressure machine I bought months ago and have never used yet.....or tested tyres thinking about it.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

I've just been on the phone to insurers, asking why I can't claim for hiring another car as I am S/E, seems by getting payment for my written off car, I am according to ALL insurers, back to the position I was before the accident... Apparently, it's my choice whether I go out and buy a car now... I think not, I said, how do I go out and just pick a car at short notice?!

So, I will be worse off, time, phone calls, stress, choosing another car...but I'm apparently, according to the insurers, not worse off!

    Is it me???

I'm getting the car the extra day, (which she said I shouldn't be) which is a loss to them it seems!

Anyway I'm I'm hiring a car locally for £140 for the week. :(

However, they are very keen for me to make a claim for whiplash!!

I don't see how I'm in the same position I was on Saturday.

    And smile...:p:D

    Well it's official....

Mr.kiss kiss sparky.....is in fact bootifull. If I were 15 yrs younger he would be in my cupboard now for sure....can you have mild crushes on someone at my age???....lol.

Nearly as bootifull and interesting as feral cats....no I will say on a par actually. The fact that i'm not 15yrs younger is pretty annoying to be honest, bordering on devastating....

But seriously though....what a lovely bloke..he would be a comfy shoe type, ex army , and a bit of a gent underneath it all I think.

Due to ex army mentality is very tidy (not welsh tidy i'm meaning here...although he is that too)....he was up on top of conservatory roof cleaning it as the dirt on it was irritating him.....how ruddy cool is that....i'm in love....lol....for nothing, and then started cleaning bits from garden!! Got a good sense of humour too when talking about killing himself falling off ladder (that he loves his mum and has his clean boxers on)...found myself rapidly trying to think of younger friends who need a lovely bloke.

He also refused a croissant....more for me!!

Anyhow...he's coming back to sort a door bell that I can switch off too now...and said he would only be charging a tenner to rig it up.....result.

Anyhow, I think I have found a dead canny bloke as they say up here, and won't be ripping us singlies off.

He's made my day a bit brighter anyhow.

Re: car hunting, I hope you manage to find a suitable one within the week...it will be a stress..but doable I think.

Glad you got some breathing space with the hire car Byatt, bit of a bummer re the hire fees and cancelling work, but such is life.

I cannot comment re age gaps, well I can, largest one I had in any fling/relationship/whatever was 17 years and he was the younger one.

My ex was nearly 14 years older than me. He's 70 this year. Definitely prefer it the other way round!

Calico, I take it back about the x's being for everyone from your man in the cupboard, I think he's definitely interested in you. And don't let age stop you, you don't look your age at all, you are very pretty and bubbly...what's 15 years, and do you know for sure he's 15 years younger? :D

I know someone who married a woman when he was 25 and she was 45, he's still with her 20 years later.

Nowt wrong with toyboys. Been there, done that myself:). Best boyfriend I ever had actually was Mr Toyboy. I was spoilt something rotten:p
  • Yay! Calicocat has pulled!! Seriously, as Byatt says, it does sound like he might be interested. If you feel interested, give it a go. Age is just a number.

Byatt - sending positive thoughts for your car hunting.

I am delighted to announce, as per the early part of this thread, that I have today signed my Will. Thanks LavenderBees for giving the necessary push to get it sorted. Of course, I could have done without the letter from my ex's solicitors demanding half their fees for the divorce costs. Well, they can ask but they can't get what I don't have!

Thanks for the positive thoughts and sorry for being so self absorbed!

Is it silly to fall in love with a car based on its REG number? :o:cool:

Just spotted one, so will ring dealer tomorrow (I rang just now but they must be closed)...I made an appt to see another one Saturday, but then noticed it was green (it looks silver in the pic)...as my criteria was "any colour but green..." not sure what I'll do.

And Calico, age is just a number, and if there's a chance to make a new friend with possible romantic interest, why not...:T

Well done RPP on the will signing...and yes, just ignore ex's solicitors!
