JUST sitting down now after a manic day of bathroom cleaning, spare room sorting, laundry doing, school library running, packed tea making, ballet/tap attending, beavers helping (I play a mean game of dodgeball!), children washing, fish cake making, kitchen cleaning and ironing!! Now to the most important part - wine drinking! Exhausted!
Haven't even properly looked at today's tasks in detail let alone had any opportunity to get down and dirty with Fred. Will try and have a skim though now although I'm struggling to keep my eyes open !
So anyway - hi everyone!

He said that every year all the students came back from Christmas incredibly sluggish, and continued downhill until 4th Feburary. From that day on, the atmosphere in the college lifted, and by the end of March everyone was back to their normal positive selves. He had several theories as to why it happened but he'd been aware of the same pattern for years and found it interesting enough to talk about it. It was a residential college, so student welfare issues were taken very seriously.
So, I'm looking forward to February 4th - 21 day to go!
Me too - 21 days til my birthday!!
Mummyof5 hope the pain eases for you soon.
Decogecko hope fluffy cat improves and is able to eat so you won't need to go to the dreaded VET.

After being hit in my car this morning for the second time in 3 months, I am even more seriously considering hibernation!
MrsC - sorry to hear about kitty; hugs for you and DS x
kazw - Happy Birthday xOh, and following on from the maiden talk, a friend told me today she has a dehumidifier next to her washing. Dries in less than 12 hours. I'm off to read up about this potential gem!
My dehumidifier has a drying washing setting on it and I would say it dries washing in much less time than that. I love it!

Do it next week, one room at a time and next week will be a normal week for those of us who have another bedroom to deal with
Back from meeting, need to sort out the list and download documents for a meeting tomorrow morning, first one is an easy one so not much prep at all.
DS3's birthday is 4th of February too - no ideas on what to do or get yet though.

I'm feeling a bit deflated.. lots of my fb friends I went to school with so we all have the same birthday significance this year/last year and I suddenly realised how entirely unimportant and insignificant I am.. bring on the midlife crisis!.. loads have had marriage proposals, flashy holidays, beautiful bits of jewellery and fabulous parties.. I have some green eyed monster going on.. hopefully this gets it out of my system.

The kitchen is looking so much nicer today.. I am almost on top of the hideous mountains of laundry.. I have a table going to live with DD1 tomorrow.. it was meant to go today but hasn't.. her dog appears to have trampled in something it is allergic too and has made his face and leg bleed scratting at himself.

Hi
I've done nothing except wash up after dinner and get stuff ready for morning. Was out of house from 6am to 5pm, collecting DD without another hat  on my way home
[rant]
Since September school have lost DS milk money for the year (in envelope, properly labelled and handed to teacher who confirmed she had seen it), yet they would not allow him milk so I paid again with the request they look into the missing envelope (they haven't). They then tell us we will get 2/3 refunded (they haven't) and we have to register online, only to be told he should get it free anyway (he's not yet 5). But he hasn't had it this term as "he's not on the list" and he's made to sit separate from the kids that are :mad::mad:.
Then I paid for his dinner money online, for a full month (only possible because the office staff gave me his unique code) only to get a letter from same office staff demanding dinner money, to be paid before July 2011!
Then since DD started last week, they have managed to lose 2 hats, a mitten, her cardigan (twice), her wellies (that they'd not even put on her???), her bag with spare clothes and her headband. That's in just 5 days. Somehow they miraculously find her cardi when its time to do painting
And to top it off, I called to tell them DS was sick this morning, only to be answered by the headmaster who volunteered to write his details down on the list, only to get a call from his teacher 2 hours later, asking where he was! Why did it take them 2 hours to notice he was missing? And if the headmaster can't write a name down correctly then what hope do any of us have???
Please tell me this is not typical, not all schools are this disorganised?
[/rant]
On the plus side, DS is well enough to go back to the money-and-hat-eating black hole that is our school tomorrow. Oh and DD stayed in bed last night :T
I'm so fed up. Will have to tackle the drawers tomorrow. At least there's nothing under the bed, except another bed
Sorry about your kitty, mrs c
Happy birthday, kazwookie
Pleased DD got moved, pigpen, hope they are happy and don't move again any time soon!
Hugs to Helen Jelly and Mr Jelly. Hope Friday goes well. XBossymoo

Unfortunately, due to previous committments, only got a little bit done today and not much more will be done tomorrow as I'm out most of the day. That said though, am very pleased with the result of today's effort - it looks as if more got done than actually did! Weird .....
Good night all.
Well, the "not much more" got done this morning (and the room is still looking good!) as I've been out from 12.45 pm-5.00 pm and then from 6.45 pm-just after 9. Managed to get a little bit of dot-to-dotting done after tea, but am off to the Land of Nod now. Am at home all day tomorrow, so here's hoping for a good night's sleep.

Awww (((hugs))) pigpen. I hear ya on the "nothing significant " front, I feel like I've been having a quarter-life crisis since I graduated 4 years ago!
At this point I would like a bit of stability in my life instead of moving from temp job to temp job, not being able to get on the property ladder and being charged huge amounts of rent to pay a 30-something's 5th mortgage (and then some!) who probably bought the place 10 years ago for less than the average Audi costs these days. I haven't had more than a week off in years and I've only just stopped working weekends for as long as I've been employed.
Whilst my 30-something relatives have secure jobs, houses with small mortgages and kids, I'm the wrong side of 25 with no job security, no chance to get on the property ladder any time soon without a permanent job and little hope of that changing any time soon. I'm the only one in my family to get a degree and a masters (and they're both in pure/applied science subjects so not useless) - who says a university education pays, eh?“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. TappingI'm finding my way back to sanity again... but I don't really know what I'm gonna do when I get there~ LifehouseWhat’s fur ye will make go by ye… but also what’s not fur ye, ye can jist scroll on by!0
