Pigpen, I hope you're feeling physically better today which might help. High 5, by the way, because obviously, you're a no hug zone.

I find F@ceb00k demoralising. Everyone seems to be happier, richer, having more fun etc etc so I avoid it a much a possible.
    Better is good enough.

Good morning all. Lots of wintry thoughts on the thread to go with the miserable wintry weather we're having :(

Special good wishes to opto-mum's DP. My DH takes Warfarin now, to prevent any further strokes (which incidentally he didn't notice at the time, but the evidence is there on the MRI scan!) and he only has to go to hospital every 4 weeks for a blood test, so it's not a great problem. You just need to make sure that he takes his medication regularly - fortunately my DH is very organised about that: the best organised he is about anything, really :rotfl:)

Pigpen, the Flylady meet in York on 2nd Feb could be just the tonic you need! Put your needs first, for a change.

LW, hope your hands aren't hurting so much today and that your canine visitor is good company.

I didn't achieve very much yesterday, and today seems to be going the same way. I didn't wake up until nearly 8.00 this morning, by which time DH had been up for nearly 2 hours and the Garden Gang had already arrived  I have put in 1xWM load, moved 6 unwanted breeze blocks from the back garden to the front, DUPA odd bits and pieces that DH had washed up by hand, worked out how to make a new needlework/knitting holder for my Grandmother's antique sewing table (need to buy some material), drunk 2 cups of coffee and done 2 Sudoku puzzles :o I currently have a mental block about the grand sort-out of the study bedroom, and there are 3 paper frogs sitting on my desk and croaking loudly - perhaps if I deal with them first, the rest will be easier.

(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks to all who need them.

Thank you for all the comments. It really helps. I've only caught up on the last two pages - looks like lots of us are in need of extra hugs (or high-5s) and spoons, either for ourselves or those we love.

Bossy - I'd be tempted to print the list and speak to the headteacher about it. If I had lost money I'd have rather replaced it out of my own pocket than asking the parent to pay again.

I have more difficulties adjusting than I thought I would. Couldn't get out of bed this morning (made DS2 a few minutes late for school :() and since then I've not moved from the computer, other than to phone NN about the reference I wrote for her.

Must make a hot cup of tea to warm me up and make a start on the dailies - once I've updated my list. I'll catch up with the rest of fred over lunch.

thank you.. I know you all notice I'm alive.. I can tell by the messages I get when I disappear for a few days :) .. I think it is just a bit of green eyed monster and feeling unwell and taken for granted.. I spend my life running about after everyone else and when I need something everyone disappears. I don't want half of those things.. I just want it to be an option... see no sense at all.

I'm getting a bit concerned this mouth thing is needing a drs trip and I really don't want to go.

OH is moaning about coming to a meet up so I might not get there.. NOT happy! See.. this is what I mean.. something important to me and no one is interested :( .. I might start looking at trains.. leave him at home with this lot :p How far is it from the train station?

I went to my mothers yesterday.. the next street to mine! .. I was there 3 hours.. after I had take OH's glasses to be repaired and brought them home.. He couldn't even manage to grill some pork steaks or put pasta in a pan to feed the children!!! seriously lazy!!!

I needed a table dismantling to go to DD1's.. far too much like moving away from the taplop... I am clearing the worktop in the kitchen and starting to paint the ceiling.. see how long it takes him to take over :p He also has a chest of drawers to build now :D

Wm, DW and TD all on
    Dry laundry folded

Just about to do a Tesco order for Friday while the little pinks eat their lunch and I have 2 bills to pay.

    Hi all

Belated birthday wishes to Kazwookie and Miss A; sincere apologies for tardiness; my brain was literally on overload yesterday, and as Mr LW has been heard to say, "I'm a [STRIKE]bear[/STRIKE] wolf of very little brain".:D

Froddy very gentle (((HUG))) hope you're ok, mate.:o

Piggers you most certainly are not insignificant. I think, from what I've heard, Faceache can easily make people feel like that. But you've had eleven babies - that's an achievement in itself - you're coping against all the odds with health issues with some of them, still helping the ones who have left the nest, field the large amount of carp thrown your way by KH, and still find the wherewithall to post encouragement for your friends here when they are down. And lots more that my poor beleaguered brain won't put into proper words to list.:o

Bossy reading your list of school woes, the one word that comes to my mind is incompetent. I hope to goodness the standard of education they provide is a lot better than their admin!

I'm very glad I have one of the easiest dogs to look after right now, as I'm having a tough time with the ol' joints. The paws are horrible; and it's becoming very frightening - if things keep going downhill I don't know how I'm going to manage. I'm gritting my teeth and trying to ignore the pain and the nasty grinding sound/sensation in my wrists, but that in turn saps my energy. I'm at a bit of a loss for what I can do to improve the situation; I'm using the wax bath when I can, and the infrasound device, and wearing my splints most of the time - I don't know what else to try.:( Sadly, it means the major sort out of the bedroom is having to take a back seat; Jessie's needs come first, and by the time I've walked her and dried her paws and undercarriage, I'm exhausted.

She's a super dog though; excellent company. She's very talkative, too - she speaks in little "whine" noises, but it's not like actual whining, it really is like she's talking, iyswim.:D

ETA Piggers if OH doesn't want to attend the meet-up, let him child-sit and hop on the train if it's remotely possible. The only way you're going to get something you want is if you say "s0d it, I'm doing this, and if you lot don't like it, tough". It's a shame it's too long a journey for me to get there, or we'd have offered to pick you up at the station.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Is the meet up in York? I'm sure the train station and Railway museum are interlinked (Its 6years since I have been, so my memory of it could be wrong!)

Nothing going on here, which lady said wadding through treacle, that's me too today and everyday since just before Christmas I need a boot up the backside.
  • I did post a few years back and have lurked a bit but getting back into decluttering and flying a bit more. over the past year I have read the 1st page and done bits of it but this year getting back into reading all the news. It is great to recognise loads of people from a few years back and catch up on what's been happening.

A meeting in York - sounds fun Nowhere near me but found the following link Musuem is a few minutes walk from train station. We went there a few years back, children loved it.
Hope you do go Pigpen, think of yourself, DH will have to survive if you are not there, they can be quite resourceful when they need to be!!
