Awww (((hugs))) pigpen. I hear ya on the "nothing significant " front, I feel like I've been having a quarter-life crisis since I graduated 4 years ago!
At this point I would like a bit of stability in my life instead of moving from temp job to temp job, not being able to get on the property ladder and being charged huge amounts of rent to pay a 30-something's 5th mortgage (and then some!) who probably bought the place 10 years ago for less than the average Audi costs these days. I haven't had more than a week off in years and I've only just stopped working weekends for as long as I've been employed.
Whilst my 30-something relatives have secure jobs, houses with small mortgages and kids, I'm the wrong side of 25 with no job security, no chance to get on the property ladder any time soon without a permanent job and little hope of that changing any time soon. I'm the only one in my family to get a degree and a masters (and they're both in pure/applied science subjects so not useless) - who says a university education pays, eh?
My partner has a degree in computer engineering and was made redundant 4 years ago and was told by the job centre there was nothing they could offer him that would enhance his job prospects or that was in his field of expertise or experience and they didn't know what to do to assist him in finding work... really good for his self esteem!! They even suggested he applied for a job teaching maths even though he is not a qualified teacher just so he could say 'I applied for this job'.. er.. no!
He has no work, no chance of getting anything and we can't really move towns so he can find work as the older childrens dad wouldn't get to see them so we are very much stuck in the middle of nothingness.. it is all very depressing. Yes again I live my life according to the rules of KH.. only another 7 years and Tiddles will be 16 and I never have to deal with him again.. *wishes life away*
The lower paid jobs here are taken mainly by east Europeans.. predominantly Polish at the moment and while I am not of the opinion they shouldn't have jobs it just seems unfair the employers will employ them and not give OH or other British people a chance.. DS1 is in the same position.. without the degree but he is a different kettle of fish... plus I don't have him under my feet 24/7 like I do OH. I love cultural diversity and think it enhances an area and makes it more interesting so I welcome 'exchange workers' .. They don't come over and take our jobs, they do the jobs the lazy natives don't want to do.. many are highly skilled tradesmen!
I shall go to bed.. when I finish this row of knitting and tackle the world tomorrow.. starting with a table, a rocking horse and a sewing machine..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
morning all.
hugs and vibes of all kinds to those that need/want (from the few posts i have read sounds like alot of you need them) so huge hugs and vibes to you all.
both kids and DP are asleep
yesterday (tuesday) felt like such a long day .... DP finally went to the drs (after being called in nearly an hr late) (he nearly walked out luckily i managed to keep him 'chatting' so he stayed sat for an extra 10 mins in which time he got called in) long story short we got to the drs at 11.05 for his appointment at 11.10 and left the dr surgury at 2pm and finally drove out the carpark at 2.15pm after getting his prescription.
yesterday (monday) wasn't a busy day but we popped to MIL early afternoon ... i did franticly fly in the morning tho so got some stuff done.
tuesday was spent mostly at the drs then we had to pick up baby from MIL's good job at last min i decided to let MIL look after him while at drs after all
tomorrow (weds) i have a drs app so MIL is looking after kids as i never go in on time and it isnt fair for them to wait around when they dont need to go thereselves
thurs health visitor is coming and his my brothers birthday so will be seeing him at somepoint
friday DP has the hospital (will probably be another long drag of an afternoon hes got to have an xray and bloods and need to pop to see my nana at some point
overall is turned into abit of a hectic week. wern't given DP's hosp app till at drs today.
also next monday DS1 has a hospital app at birmingham childrens about 1-2 hr drive ... he may get discharged at this app ...
and then i need to concentrate on getting DP better mainly and keep an eye on baby as he seems to have a cold
oh i need to get baby in for his 8 week jabs for the end of the month too
also need to try and persuade the nurse tomorrow to let me go back on the pill (even though on my notes it failed with DS1!!) as everything else i get side effects from and i can't afford to feel mentally and/or physically ill atm
DP got diagnosed with Deep vein thrombosis today (hes 22) thats why we were at drs so long they did test there and then. hes on blood thining injections till friday and then after his hospital app im not sure what happens. the dr said if its a blood disorder he has he will be on blood thinners (most prob tablets but may be injections) for the rest of his life. if its not a blood disorder he will prob be on thinners for the next 3 months or until the clot passes worst case would be an operation (its in his leg hopefully it wont move elsewhere) .... one step at a time tho ... just need to make sure he does his injections on time over the next few days then his app on friday and go from there
hes also got to go back in 3 weeks for a IBS diagnosis ... he prescribed him meds today as he has the symptoms but didnt have time to do a thougher diagnosis and wants to get the DVT sorted first as it is more serious than the ibs
amazingly im not stressing which for someone with a past of many mental health things as well as panic attacks and server anxity is amazing .... one step at a time is what i keep telling myself i have finally learnt that there is no point worrying until it happens as i will probably end up stressing myself out and becoming ill for no reason
i have been flying today but i can't remember what ... the livingroom is looking better than it did this morning and LO's room is done just got to put his clean laundry away
kitchen is ok just need to do laundry ... put clean laundry away mop floor unload dw refill and put on ..... urrmm not sure what else atm
night all off to bed in the nest 10 mins ...
see you tomorrow ready for a frantic flying session.... its much needed i can feel it200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -

Dusty thanks for the info on the medical notes. I had a leaflet in the post yesterday but didn't know what it was about. X

Optimistic-mummy well done on keeping DP in the surgery! It's good they found he has DVT. I had a stroke in 2000 and had to have the injections you mention (Clexane/heparin) and am on lifelong Warfarin. Hopefully he'll only have to take Warfarin for 3 months, but if not being on it long term isn't awful; you just have to have checks to make sure your blood isn't too thick/thin - got mine later this morning. Hugs to you for staying strong during this x
DH away tonight for the first time for a while so hoping kids don't act up. Big excitement here - signed up to help at Beavers and get to do my 'Beaver promise' tonight and get a necker - wow!! DS been telling me what to say, bless him.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Sending get well and healing vibes to all needing them.
Must go shopping first of all 'cos DH had to go to work with just one slice of toast and his sandwiches as we had run out!!
Was anyone on here looking for a stick steam cleaner? Just been rummaging through Mr T*sco clearance and there were a couple on there I think. Also the word on MSE weekly email is that B**Ts may reduce stuff by 75% today so must check!!!
Not sure what plan is for today - keep getting sidetracked on Genealogical research.

Morning all
Hugs, spoons, vibes and sticks to all.
Today is a work day (I'm planning 10-4 and working through my lunch), 75 books have just arrived which need to be prepared so I can put them out the last week of January (I'd normally do them the Monday but DD has INSET then), I have more forms & cards to stamp/fill out, I'm also going to do laundry. Not sure what to do for tea tonight, I have mince to use up so I might make a cottage pie or something. Hopefully inspiration will hit me before 4pm :rotfl:
Best go get the first load of washing in. Going to use the TD today as I'm already feeling chilly and it'll warm the place up a bitShould also do some more washing up, think I'll rewash the pans DD failed to get clean properly first. Laters

Bossy, that school sounds a nightmare, no they arent all that disorganised.
Pigpen, on whos standards are you judging yourself to be insignificant?? dont use anyone elses measure to compare yourself against use your own. Count the good things that YOU have achieved in your time here, things you have done to help, skills you have learned, achievements you have made.
From past reading about you you arent comfortable with parties as that would create who to invite from the family issues.
would you want a marriage proposal? if you would and you are absolutely sure theres nothing stopping you form asking him.
You have achieved a lot in your lifetime (there are a few children that wouldn't be on the planet if you had chosen a different path and how much poorer would the world be for that omission - if not you, because of the way youve brought up your children and the love and nurture you have given they could go on to achieve great things or just be excepitionally happy with who they are and what they have. YOU DID THAT!
you are not insignificant, none of us are. as long as we follow the path we choose and do the best we can.SPC~12 ot 124
