There is no excuse for letting children disrupt other peoples lives. If you want your kid to be noisy and stay up till 10pm then be considerate and do not choose to live in a flat. It works both ways. Some parents have not got a clue, unfortunately they are rife.

Oh look, Gina Ford is here.

  • Thanks for the compliment notanewuser. ;)

....I certainly aint a Gina Ford, but I would rather be her any day than a "I do not give a damn about my neighbours" sort of person.

But there may not be much the upstairs family can do about the noise.

3 year olds running about at anything past 8 pm is a perfect argument for castration of the parents

    Tomorrows yobs in the making
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

    Or a healthy active child?

Clearly your parents followed the formula for tomorrow's grumpy old men

Healthy and active children ,especially at 3 years old are tucked up in bed by 8pm.

3 year olds running about at 10 pm have doubtless got parents who you pay good money not to live near

When our daughter was 3 (she is 4.5 now) she was rarely in bed before 10 pm, she would normally wake up at about 7 am unless she was poorly in which case she would often sleep later, at the minute she is going to bed at around 9 and waking before 7. She would spend her days playing at part, going to play school, attending school (start at 3 in Wales) colouring, reading, writing and where possible attempting to make positions in the bathroom sink.

Children run around, they laugh, sometimes they cry, sometimes they will shout instead of talking despite the fact that you are sat next to them. Three year olds running around is normal, if you don't want the noise of children then don't live in a flat or a semi-detached property with thin walls.
