Can I ask the people that are spouting off at the op to shut up and stop trying to send her on a quilt trip. We as human beings have the right to make our own decisions over our lives and we do not have to have the permission from other people.
My views on abortion are my views and mine alone, I can understand people getting upset if they are having trouble getting pregnant themselves, but you are not helping a tough decision for the op.
OP
You are making the right decision for you and your family, I hope you are ok xxTreat other's how you like to be treated.

OPs one source of contraception failed.
OP knew she needed to not get pregnant - but only used the pill which is widely known to be less than 100% effective.
OP is now choosing to end the life of a baby for financial reasons.
Which part of that summary is 'cruel'?:hello:0 -
I wanted to thank all the thoughtful people who have pm'd me.
Tiddlywinks posts do not upset me as I understand they have their own views on the matter. In life that's what happens so I appreciate that.
To Tiddlywinks, I understand the pill isn't 100%.
The only 2 methods which are would be no sex at all or a complete hysterectomy. I'd be interested to know which of these 2 options you do think are right for a woman in her early 30's.......0 -
Last weeks BMJ journal has a good summary on abortions. Apparently 63% of women feel relief, and not everyone has the emotional distress alluded to in earlier posts.
Do whatever is right for you and your family Tired. I would say though, that if this has happened on the pill then an alternative form of contraception that isn't reliant on the stomach is a good idea. They'll probably talk to you about this in the clinic but things like implants, coils or injections work very well.
Good luck whatever you do.Current debt: M&S £0(£2K) , Tesco £0 (£1.5K), Car loan 6K (paid off!) Barclaycard £1.5K (interest free for 18 months)0 -
I am having the coil fitted at the same time as the procedure. Just until Hubby has his vasectomy. X0

Your being cruel imo because you just won't shut up, you have voiced your opinion, we hear you!!! You are entitled to your opinion as others are, we get your point that you don't believe in terminations, that's your right, but how is it helping the op??
Give the woman a break please.Treat other's how you like to be treated.

The pill is less than 100 per cent effective, so is the contraceptive implant, theres NO contraception that is 100 per cent fail safe, even sterilisations and vasectomies can fail.
Even if someone took the pill and a condom was used it could still split.
Again, the only way not to get pregnant would be to abstain from sex altogether and how realistic is it that people are going to do that.
It is not fair calling someone reckless when they were on the combined pill.
If the OP is saying that she cant afford to support the family she has and the new baby, shes being honest.
Again, it would be more helpful to point someone towards help and support in the way of any extra benefits that could be claimed than giving that person a hard time for becoming pregnant.0 -

Its not helping the OP at all.
Theres no need for all this moralising. As I said, her decision affects her, it affects none of us on these boards.0 -
I thought bigots were a thing of the past. Obviously not.
All the best OP.0
