pbviously you see it as something i desired rather than needed. but thats to be expected from someone who has no knowledge of how isolating blinndness is0 -

I have friends who live in your part of the world, and they are just the same. Strange that!
they also have a strange choice in friends it seems0 -

For most of us it's a need. Depending on where I move, I won't have family around to help me as much. I am currently undergoing various treatments and tests at my GPs surgery. Depending on where I move, I may have to register at another surgery and start all over again. Not something I really want to do.
And then there's having to numerous new routes to places. Not easy when you're Autistic and sight impaired.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Its sad and sickening to see people so deluded by party politics that they are happy to see disabled people suffer.
Have you actually read this thread? Or even know that the disabled are protected if they need another room?
Don't let the facts stand in the way of one of your rants.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

So why are so many disabled people having to move to different properties then? Or pay the extra rent from their disability allowances?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

the disabled are protected IF they can prove they need a spare room.
many disabled dont need a spare room but have no smaller property to downsize into and so have to pay for the reduction in housing benefit.
so in that case, they are no more protected than anyone else.
so they are disabled and struggling and still have to find the extra money from funds that are specified to make their lives as normal as possible.
big revelation coming ..... you can only spend money once and if it has to go towards rent than something else has to be neglected0 -

It depends why they need another room. You can't get another room (or rather, be exempt from bedroom tax) if you have to sleep in a separate room to that of your partner due to disabilities. You can get extra housing benefit if you need an overnight carer though.
Only disabled children are actually protected. Disabled adults aren't. But (although, I'm sure someone did win a legal challenge over this) we can't have another room to store our disability equipment.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

So whats your answer then? How do you answer people sitting with 'spare' rooms?0 -
i am not affected by the reduction in housing benefit. i dont need an overnight carer. i dont need to store equiptment.
but i am disabled and i do know how difficult life can be even if finance isnt an issue.
to penalise people because they have fewer choices than the majority just feels wrong to me.
or do other people not have empathy with those less fortunate ?0
