glad you find it amusing, says a lot to be honest, but you expect it
if your disabled and you need another room, you get it. not overly complicated.
If you have a spare room and your offered a property in the area with less rooms and you refuse to take it (no disability) then you can lose the money.
Excluding parents with joint custody as this penalises the child if they cant stay at their parents.
you want both parents to have +1 room(s) for the kid(s)?
Assuming the non resident parent is claiming.
Whats your definition of 'need'? for disabled need?
Is it up to the HA to find people homes now? What would be the limits on this.
distance? Eg on the East of Edinburgh I could get a house closer in East Lothian (different council)than the West of Edinburgh0 -
You can give all the info you like.
Why are you aggrieved at someone else 'under occupying, but it was fine for you?
Are you defining 1 person to a bedroom under occupying, but you with 2 empty fine?
Get your facts right, I didnt have two empty bedrooms, I moved in March 2013, my daughter went to Uni in September 2013!! Until then I had ONE empty bedroom!!
And my point is the Government don't want me under occupying but happily put in a family who are!!
AND YOU ARE JUST RUDE!!!0 -

So are the other people happy paying either the full rent or making the shortfall up if they are claiming HB? Some people do still pay their own rent you know and quite willing to pay for the luxury of a spare room.0 -

What about those living in 2, 3 or 4 bed properties?
The ones living in 1 bed sheltered accommodation are not a problem, they're suitably housed.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Which as I said in my earlier post, I would be paying for as I now work full time and pay full rent and council tax!! So I could have stayed put and as I would be paying for it people like you wouldn't have to complain!! :mad:0 -

Some older people are happy to sell their property and live in rented, especially if they can get social housing. No more worries about maintenance etc plus having money to give away or spend as they wish. I know several people who have done this.
We have a higher income from pensions than we had when working. I am sure we could manage to pay our own rent if we needed to.0 -

surely the underlaying reason for this policy was to make people move into the correct sized property to free up homes for families?
seems thos families can take a jump if a pensioner lives in a 4 bed!
funny how theyre suddenly less of a priority dont you think?0
