Where's the problem?
If you buy a car listed as 'not working' and the description states the fault is due to the spark plugs, it wouldn't be acceptable for it to arrive having been crushed into a cube.
They aren't disputing it wasn't working. They are disputing the rest of the way it was described.0 -

Even better that three other people had already pointed out the mistake, and you still felt it was worth saying exactly the same thing again.0 -
Look at the post times - matty most likely read the thread THEN posted, before which time those other posts will not have existed. (I'm discounting Slowhand's reply, as matty worded his reply slightly differently).

Not a great comparison.
Phone was listed as having a cracked screen an no signal. The buyer got exactly what he purchased.
Not working means exactly that, not working. It was sold for parts - which has nothing to do with what network the phone is on. Its blocked anyway.0 -

For the second time, they aren't disputing it wasn't working.
"the seller told me it was unlocked when i received the phone it was locked to orange uk and blacklisted"
It wasn't unlocked. The item was misdescribed.
"he said he bought it on eBay and was on o2 he got it unlocked"
It wasn't on O2. Further, the seller couldn't have got it unlocked if it was blacklisted. It was misdescribed.0 -
...and we don't know where the seller or buyer are located, but the buyer talked about paying in Euro.
We also haven't seen a link to the item, but hey ho, let's just make some big assumptions anyway.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

You seem to be missing the point.
It was described as not working and for parts. The fact that it turns on is a bonus.
You cant buy something as not working, then complain when it only partially works.
If I buy a car thats listed as not working, parts only, yet when I pick it up I can turn it on and the engine runs - I cant then complain that it dosent drive.0 -

If a phone is blocked (blacklisted), there is no way to tell if it's been unlocked.
The only way to check this is to put a SIM card from a different mobile provider in the phone and see if it will register with a network.
As the phone is blocked, it can't register with any UK network, hence no way of knowing if it's unlocked or not.
There are some online sites thatstate that they can chen a phone's simlock status by simply entering the IMEI number, but these sites are extremely unreliable and more often than not they will say that a phone is locked when it isn't simply to try and get you to pay for an unlock code.0 -

ok sorry im a first time poster here , im from ireland phone was bought on ebay and from the UK, i have tried to activate with a sim, even if the phone is blacklisted it should activate it will just constantly say no signal, after it wouldnt activate i done an imei check to find it is on orange UK,
i was awear of all the problems i fix iphones, i have bought these phones before one for myself during summer and i got one and fixed it for my sister and one for my cousin and made about 50profit on each phone cause there family,
I understand it is sold as not working and for parts but if it was unlocked i would have the phone fixed and working by now it, is the fact that it is locked that i cant fix it unless i buy a barried unlocked for 125euro witch i shouldnt have to do if it was clearly stated as unlocked0
