Sounds like you're still doing well even though you can't make a payment today! Oh to be able to throw £500+ a month at debt!
I'm pretty sure you'll find the extra money though as you're very determined and that much determination warrants success!
Thanks for the kind words hun.
I'm not sure if I can feasibly manage £500+ a month. Out of my wage I can manage £280 a month, leaving me with enough to be comfortable but not much left over to spend outside of necessities. It leaves me £50 'savings' which is going towards Xmas and bday present fund, and £60 'fun' money for the month. I could cut back on this a bit I suppose but I'd rather it be there than go without at all, then whatever's left at the end of the month I can then transfer to debt payments.
To get to £500 I'm totally reliant on the new 63336 work. I've only been doing about an hour a day to get £10 (well, an hour's worth of questions, sometimes I've been on and there's not many customers so it takes more like two hours).
I AM determined, but I still feel like I'm not determined enough/I should be doing more. I should try do more than £10 a day on 63336, maybe I should be cutting back even further on my budget, maybe I should be more actively selling things on ebay. Oh I don't know! I just want it gone!!
I'm sure once I've been able to pay a big chunk on pay day I'll feel better, as I said I'm sure its just because of the mid month lull of not having made any kind of payment for a while.0 -
Moring Kim,
I could have written your post myself today.
I always feel like I should be doing more. I should'nt be here posting I should be making crafts, growing plants in polytunnel, finding items to Ebay etc etc etc.
I am also in the mid month lul with maybe just the odd £10 to pay against debts here and there. Very boring.
Its a tough time when it gets boring, I plan to watch a few Dave Ramsey videos or scrol through some other diaries to keep my motivation going.
I am also setting myself one goal per day, like I must finish X craft today or I must post 3 items on Ebay. Would that work for you.?
Keep going hun, your doing amazing. We must support each other and get ourselves through this tough time.xxxx0 -

Thank you for the support Steph, I really appreciate it
You're right, we've just got to support each other - and we do, I don't know what I'd do without you guys on this forum now! I like the idea of daily goals. I kind of have one with getting to at least £10 every day with 63336. I'm not so great at other goals, I find it hard to get motivated most the time so when I inevitably don't meet my goal I just feel worse!
Today hasn't been so bad - I've made two sales on eBay - after fees/postage, probably £22 or so. Not too bad!
I had a bit of a downer last night though when I realised I'd totally forgotten that I'm going to have to pay extra student loan repayments out of the 63336 money. I've made a pot to put 20% aside for tax, but I also need to put an extra 9% aside for student loan. Urrrgh. So that's nearly a 1/3 of my earnings lostOh well.. what can you do? I'm already 9% down since I didn't think about it last month.. suppose I'll just have to put an extra £10 aside out of this month's pay. Grrrrr.

Just withdrew £30 from Paypal and made a payment towards the overdraft. Feel a bit better for that - bit closer to being able to meet my target for March!0

Just a thought - do you definitely have to pay student loan repayments on a 2nd job? I'm thinking back a few years ago I was working full time and also had a 2nd job. I was paying around 80.00 a month through main job but I don't think they took anything off me for 2nd job. I'm probably wrong, it was a while ago and I have an awful memory, but it might be worth checking.
Now you've reminded me about my student loan - I just try and ignore the fact that its there because I currently do not pay anything towards it. Because I work two part-time jobs, neither of which is above the threshold, nothing is taken off my wages. So its just sitting there happily adding on interest. I should really start making voluntary payments towards it but feel the rest of the debt should be out of the way first.
Well done for your 30.00 payment towards overdraft :T Hope you have a lovely day.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £106,033.77

I ignore it for the most part too. I only earn a bit over the threshold in my job, so they automatically take about £11 a month out of my wage. It's so minor I don't even really consider it.
But it did just hit me that I do have to consider it for my 2nd income. As far as I know, anything you earn over £15k, you pay 9% of it. I don't think there's anything to say you don't pay it from a second income, but I'll have to check.
I would never consider making voluntary payments towards it! I made a thread on here about student loans a while ago. There are a few people who consider it "real" debt but mostly these are the people who earn a lot so see £200, £300+ taken out of their wage for it every month. I currently don't even earn enough to pay the interest so it's just going up and up. It gets written off eventually, and as its dealt with more like tax than a loan I don't see it as "real" debt, and will consider myself 'debt free' even when I still have a great stonking student loan hanging off somewhere in oblivion. It doesn't really affect anything whether you pay extra or pay nothing at all (if you're under the threshold), so I certainly don't think anyone should feel pressured into paying it off.0 -

I refuse to allow you to cut back on Christmas/birthday/fun funds as these are essential to keeping your spirits up when you think it's too much as well as keeping December a low spend month.x

5 days 'til pay day.. roll it on.
I've slipped behind on 63336 - haven't done any for 2 days so I'm now £20 behind targetWill try and make some headway tonight otherwise my target of £300 isn't going to get met. So much for trying to get £300 AFTER tax, I've got absolutely no chance. Perhaps I'll knuckle down at the weekend but I know what I'm like. I'd rather sit and do nothing.. ugh.

Morning all
It's payday on Tuesday, and I still had about £65 left in various budget pots. Instead of waiting until payday to pay any leftover to debt, I've pre-empted this and transferred £30 to my OD. I probably wouldn't have, but if it's out of my budget pots I can't be tempted now to make any unnecessary purchases just because I have 'spare money'.
I've left myself £25 for grocery shopping tomorrow (although I am hoping to spend less than £20), and I'm meeting some old work friends for dinner at F&Bs on Monday so I've left myself £12 for this (hello Monday Madness 25% off food bill coupled with the specials menu - 3 courses and a drink for £11.50 or so!).
Now, once I've made my usual payments out of my wages on Tuesday, I *should* meet my target for the month :j (OD down to £1,000 and at least £160 paid off CC1). I'm feeling a bit better than I was earlier in the week as I was sure I wouldn't be able to meet it.
I'm still behind on 63336 though. Did £10 last night, so I'm now on £180, but I should be on £200 now. If I do £10 tonight and then £20 on Saturday and Sunday I can get back up to date but I must must MUST force myself to do it.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and a good weekend xx0 -

This is fab that you still had 65.00 left at the end of the month and well done for making a payment straight away to avoid spending money just because you have it.FinanciallyUnsavvy wrote: »Now, once I've made my usual payments out of my wages on Tuesday, I *should* meet my target for the month :j (OD down to £1,000 and at least £160 paid off CC1). Well done also for meeting your targets for the month :j and don't get too downhearted if you don't meet your 63336 target. Originally you said you thought you would be able to make an extra 100-200 a month so everything over this is great. If you are giving up a few hours every single night of the month to do this, then you're never properly having time off just to relax so don't feel guilty if you take an evening (or even a couple) off.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £106,033.77
