Sure you've thought about this but are you putting a little of your earnings aside in case you go over the tax level and have to pay any? To be honest you probably won't - I've been self-employed for 9 years now and never earned enough to pay tax but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not! x

Did you get your new glasses? I'm going to get more contacts today - have decided I don't like wearing glasses all the time. Think though I will have to get new glasses at some point in the nearish future as I have had these ones for ages and they are getting quite scratched.

Do you have any plans for your week off/birthday? This sounds ace - I hope you have a lovely weekend off with OH :) I've got 10 days holiday coming up in the middle of March and am so looking forward to the time off.

No new glasses for me yet! :( Hopefully they call today - they said they should be ready in a week, and it's been a week today, so fingers crossed.

We don't have much planned for the week off, I'm just happy to not be at work and have extra time to lounge around with OH! :p We're going out for a meal with my brother and his girlfriend in the evening on my birthday, and going to see a friend of mine's new house in the daytime. Other than that, not much for the rest of the week!

Hope you're having a good week so far! x

    Morning hun!

I will have to pay taxes, since I work full time anyway so I'm already over the threshold. I've made plans to put 20% of all earnings aside, don't worry! :)

How on earth are you managing so well without earning enough to have to pay tax?!

  • A quick morning update from moi!

Nothing much to say really, managed to get £15 last night on 63336, bringing my total so far this month to £35, putting me a fiver ahead of my target so far. Hopefully I can keep it up. It's been nice and busy which makes it easier.

Yesterday was a NSD, hurrah! I've fell off the bandwagon a bit with that lately, making the odd little purchase here and there with the cash in my purse.

I made another ebay sale over the weekend - forgot about that. Sold another game, so that's another £8 in Paypal. Need to list some more stuff, and I also have some things that I may take to trade in at CEX, as they give a decent price that isn't worth trying to beat on ebay.

Looking forward to being able to make my first debt payments of March soon when I get my 63336 money through. Not liking being at ZERO!

Aah, the million dollar question! I've always believed that you live within your means and so after this long living on next to nothing I'm managing. On a plus side it means everything I earn is mine but on a negative side this is one of the reasons I got into debt. About 4 years ago (I think!) I didn't have much work and so didn't have any money and there it begins. I'm actually earning the most I have in a long time but am still trying to live on barely anything.

I keep thinking how well off we'll be when I've paid things off. At the moment littley is young enough that when I offer more work/money or less mummy time she wants less money & more mummy time. I'm well aware that in a few years time that will change immensely and that's why I'm aiming to have more money then. I'm more than happy to earn less & create more memories at the moment. Although saying that who wouldn't like a bit more money?!

I'm very impressed! You really are doing extra super-duper fantastically then :rotfl: Keep it up hun.

You are totally right though, the majority of us do live within our means, and whatever we earn, however big or little, is what we can "afford" to live on.

Money isn't the be all and end all - you certainly have your priorities right wanting to spend more time with your littley. Good on you! :) xx
  • Thanks, I do wonder if I'm doing the right thing sometimes then littley will tell me a memory she has that she loved doing and it's usually something that cost little or no money and confirms that I am.

I used to work in London & paid more in taxes each month than I currently earn but I wouldn't say I was better off - the pubs in the area certainly were though! :) xx

  • G'day all!

Yesterday I transferred £10 from Paypal to pay against my OD just to get the ball rolling for this month. I was a bit confused last night, checking my Paypal balance against my ebay fees. My outstanding balance in ebay is only £5 now, but apparently they received a payment of £10 from me on 3 March, but nothing has been taken from Paypal?! Either they've made a booboo to my benefit (unlikely) or for some reason there's a delay in processing it from Paypal.. so I've made sure that money is still in my account just to make sure.

Last night did my £10 minimum on 63336. It was busy so I really should have done more - but I was majorly procrastinating last night browsing Facebook and the like (doh!) that by the time I properly sat down to crack on it was nearly 9pm so managed to get just under an hour done.

I'll not get much done tonight since Wednesday is evening with OH - I'm at £45 so I may try and do a quick £5 just so I'm sill on target. Need to get ahead of target before Saturday though since it's my birthday and I'm demanding a day off! :rotfl:

Very much looking forward to Saturday - my brother and his gf have invited me and OH for a meal with them, to an awesome look BBQ restaurant. It's a good hour or so away in another city, but man the menu looks to die for - loads of meat and we love meat! Bit on the expensive side but I deserve a treat once in a while and no doubt I'll have birthday money I can use without having to touch the precious budget :o

Have a great day all! x
