  • Hi, just popping by to catch up on your diary and to say hi.
You are doing so well especially with the survey sites. One of my aims this weekend is to catch up on survey sites. I told myself in January that I would get up an hour or so early each work day to try to keep on top of them, but that hasn't quite happened yet, maybe you will be my motivation to start. I struggle to find time in the evenings, every time I get into a flow, there is always something 'urgent' in the house which apparently needs my attention. Guess I also feel guilty spending so much time online in the evenings when I'm out at work all day, so my plan was to do surveys early mornings after OH sets off for work (5ish) and before the kids surface (7ish).
Mmm, thinking I might resurrect that resolution. The idea of the odd £5 or so building up over the month, on top of any ebay sales might just be what I need to kick-start my currently empty savings pots.
Will keep reading and good luck

Thanks so much for stopping by and catching up :) If you can find time, I do think the survey sites are worth it, if you can find one that works for you. MySurvey has been awesome in paying out for me, for the last four or five weeks I've had no problem getting £5 a week. It took a month or two to get going, but it seems the more I've answered the more it's given me. There's loads of others I've signed up to, but MySurvey is the only one I've cashed out from yet. Global Test Market started well, but you need 1000 points to cash out - I'm stuck at 600. Literally every survey I've done in the last few weeks has filtered me out, boo!

Morning all - just a quick update.

    Pay day tomorrow YAY! :j:j:j

My budgets are almost spent up - but probably have around £10 or so leftover in all my categories to tidy up and move across to overdraft payments.

I've had a quiet weekend at home but I've been busy cracking on with 63336. I can officially say I LOVE IT. It's awesome - I enjoy doing it. I've already made £60 over the weekend, just from a few hours here and there. I've already been able to get into the swing of things enough to bring my average time down so I'm earning over £8 an hour. Absolutely fantastic. Now I'll just be wanting to pack in the day job... ha! :o

Paypal was credited another £5 from MySurvey this weekend, and I've also sold another game on ebay - another £8 after fees. I'll update my signature with that shortly, and get it transferred over into the overdraft fund!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend
    xx
  • Signature updated - another £10 withdrawn from Paypal and bashed onto the overdraft fund. That's brought up my % paid off by a whopping 0.2% :rotfl: Every little helps though!

I'm unnaturally excited for payday tomorrow . I'm not 100% sure how much I am going to pay off, I think I'll sit down tonight and crunch the numbers in YNAB and see how much I can pay.

I did originally work out to pay £300, but I have an opticians appointment tomorrow, and I'm at least two years overdue a new pair of glasses so DESPERATELY need some. I already have £40 in my opticians fund, I may allocate myself another £60 or so so I can get a nice pair. Since I've already paid £100 this month and my target is £300, anything above £200 out of my wage is technically bonus so I think I can spare myself a bit extra :)

I've got a voucher for Optical Express anyway for a free eye test, and £30 off a £100 spend, so hopefully I can find something decent that'll end up costing me £70.
  • Hey hon

Great to see 63336 is going well for you, I really hope it continues to do so. I've finally taken your advice and hooked up with My Survey so we'll see if anything comes from there. I used to do surveys with another site (can't remember name) but you'd only get a payout at £50 and it was so difficult to get there! Think I earned about £35 but suddenly no surveys - not nice hey? Been getting heaps on Nectar Canvass too and my points are already worth nearly £30 this year - Christmas is going to be one big gorgefest of food!!

Have a great evening hon x

Still not properly worked out my budget - I will do it tonight - but just wanted to share my excitement of my bank balance BEING IN THE BLACK for the first time in literally YEARS. £265 in credit! Obviously it won't last once a few bills etc have come out - but its still a massive step.

I think my goal for the end of March will be to get the OD down enough to reduce it to £1,000 :) I paid another £10 off it last night by rounding up the 'loose change' I had left in my budget categories from last month's pay.

My totals in my signature have just gone up a bit since I've finally got round to adding the £77 balance transfer fee to CC1. Waaah! :( Not to worry, they'll be coming down by a big chunk later when I make some payments tonight :)

I was hoping I'd be able to get it under £5k with this chunk of payments but I think now I'll just be slightly short. Oh well, it won't be long.

Forgot to say I made another £20 with 63336 last night - £80 altogether in just a few days. Going to try make £20 a day with it, easily done since I'm enjoying it so much!
  • £265 in credit!? That's brilliant! Well done hon. You'll have to tell us how you did it, oh hang on... lol

Seriously though, I'm really chuffed for you. It's such an immense feeling when you actually reach one of the targets set for ourselves and this is a great one to have achieved.

Just got to keep it up in March now! :) x

    Thanks hun :)

To be honest I don't really feel like I've had to cut back or that I'm living in austerity or anything stupid like that. I've not reduced any of my direct debits, not cut back on phone bills, Sky etc (which are all the first things people tell you to get rid of when you post a SOA!). The only change I've made is using YNAB and knowing at all times exactly how much money I have and what I need it for. It really has made so much difference!

I've sold things on ebay too, which has helped get an extra bit of money in, but that doesn't feel like much of a change since I was doing that anyway - the only difference is I'd waste the money I made on other stuff I don't really need! I have had to cut back on "wasteful" spending, but because it was always stuff I didn't need I really don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Seeing the numbers go down in my signature gives me a better feeling than buying something I didn't really need or want that much in the first place! :o
  • That's really good then. People kept telling me to get rid of sky but if I got what I regularly use from other places I'd probably end up paying more anyway so what's the point? And it's not like I don't use everything. Also, I find it saves me money as last month I had a night out with friends but we were all skint so instead of dinner and cinema we had a chippy tea & a £3.50 movie off Sky. Can't argue with that! Have a nice rest of the day :)
