To be honest I don't really feel like I've had to cut back or that I'm living in austerity or anything stupid like that. I've not reduced any of my direct debits, not cut back on phone bills, Sky etc (which are all the first things people tell you to get rid of when you post a SOA!).

This is exactly why I have never posted a SOA as I know what people will tell me to cut down on and I'm not willing to completely sacrifice everything just to get a quicker DFD.
Forgot to say I made another £20 with 63336 last night - £80 altogether in just a few days. Going to try make £20 a day with it, easily done since I'm enjoying it so much!

Wow can't believe how much you've made in a few days! You'll be under 5k before you know it.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.9.25 - £106,033.77
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £0.35/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £738.97
  • Just a quick update :)

Today has been an EPICALLY spendy day. All good though and all budgeted for.

I went to the opticians and got myself some new glasses :j It's been over 4 years since I've had some new ones, so I'm excited. That cost me £118. I'd budgeted £100, but didn't mind going a bit over - for that I got a pair of designer glasses with all the coatings on the lenses and a pair of sunglasses. Since I expected to only come away with one pair of bog standard glasses with no fancy coatings or any of that, I didn't mind paying an extra £18. Since I've made over £100 in extra payments this month anyway I can easily afford to take £18 out of my usual CC payments.

I also spent £15 on a meal out for me and OH - again budgeted for, he offered to pay but I wanted to put my share in since he ALWAYS pays.

I also saw a bluray of a film I've been really wanting to see - for £5. Its a new release so a bargain anyway, and since I had some in-store credit I got it for £3.60. Out of my entertainment budget so its all good.

I've just paid off £129 of the Halifax card - bringing me up to nearly 10% paid off! Just £40 left, which will be taken automatically by DD in a few days. Then that's one debt completely gone. It feels nice, but not as nice as it'll feel when I see the big one start going down.

    Soon, very soon.

Oh- also got another ebay sale tonight - so that's going to be about £6 after fees. Can't grumble!
  • That's brilliant! Nothing like a bargain, a nice meal with your OH and one of your debts nearly paid off. Happy days :)

  • Thanks Emz, Tara and Sassy for your lovely messages today! :)

One last quick update before bed-

Also paid the minimum due on the Barclaycard tonight so that's another £87 gone. 11.3% paid off now!

I didn't think the minimum would be that high, stupid me, so have had to tweak the numbers in YNAB a bit, leaving me with less for the month than I thought. Still not too bad though, will certainly manage!
  • Hey!

That Barclaycard will be gone before you know it. Just a suggestion, if the minimum is £87 could you not round it up to £90? Not much more I know but at least it's slightly more than the minimum.

    Have a good day! x

This month is the only month I'll be paying the minimum, since I'm snowballing and I've paid the Halifax one off in full this month (£170). Next month will be at least £200 off the Barclaycard, don't you worry! :)
  • Hi Kim,

Just caught up with your diary.

WOW you seem to be doing amazingly on this 63336 thingy. not overly sure what it is, but I am VERY tempted to try it out myself. Sounds like a good money maker.

I am feeling really stupid now, but I read about how you filter out the little bits that are left in your YNAB budget pots and pay that against a debt. What a fantastic idea. I have either been just editing categories so that it just goes back into the total cash spare or just letting it sit in the pots.
what I will do at the end of every month from now on, is sort out all those little unspent bits and pay them against my latest debt I am targeting.

    Thank you Kim.

Keep going hun you are doing fantastically. 11 months here we come xxx

    Thanks Steph :)

I'm glad I've inspired you to take out the little bits left in the budgets too! I suppose it would work out the same if you left them in there and then just put a bit less in out of your new money to budget, then put the difference in a debt - but I decided I'd prefer to have them all zeroed each payday.

63336 is one of these premium text services - people text ANY question to it and get a response back. I'm a researcher who answers the questions - so basically just using Google to find whatever I need to find! They're not recruiting at the minute - by the looks of it, their recruitment window lasted literally a couple of days so I was lucky to get in there - but I think they do do recruitment drives every couple months or so, so it's worth keeping an eye out. I'm loving it so far!

Thank you for the support hun, means a lot! I am SO hoping that with the extra money from 63336 I'll be able to pay everything off by the end of the year. It would be fantastic, but we'll see what happens. So far so good anyway, for both of us! xxx
  • I've nothing to report today but wanted to pop by all the same. I'm getting antsy lately when there's nothing to be updated in YNAB or when I have no payments to make etc. I'm obsessed! :rotfl:

I find myself checking my banking app on my phone every couple of hours just to see if there's any DDs been taken out so I can log them in YNAB :o I need help!

Tomorrow the last DD for CC2 should be taken out so I can close that card.

I was busy last night so didn't get to do any work on 63336. I plan to do a solid few hours tonight though- hopefully it's fairly busy so there's questions to be answered! I think I'm at £85 at the moment, I need to get to £100 before tomorrow's over with so I can get paid for this month. If you don't earn over £100 it rolls over into the next month.

Good luck getting up to £100. It's pretty dead on there right now. I've been working since around 9.20am and I'm only up to £10. It should be busier tonight though.

You'll find that more people log on towards the end of the month to boost their funds, so it's always best to do what you can at the beginning of the month.
