You can buy e cigs that each one is the equivalent of 50 cigarettes. .

Problem with these is that i can sit there and discharge the battery or cartridge without noticing, once ive picked it up it's very hard to put down

Sax11 do you have internet access in the office you can use freely?

    Debbie

I do - it's how i spend most of my day :rotfl:

as for the tangle toy - had one of them but it's not the 'something to do with my hands' that i need - it's a change of routine.

Tomorrow instead of having a ciggie i'll have a tic tac and make the coffee.

I stupidly let everything get on top of me a minute ago and had one.... after 2 weeks of being smoke free, it tasted horrible and now I feel completely and utterly frustrated with myself for letting things get on top of me to the point of pushing me to having one.

Did it help you cope with what was on top of you or was it just a 3 minute diversion?

One swallow does not make a summer :) - everyone gets blips so don't feel too bad

    Thank you sax11!

To be honest it didn't help me at all. In fact it made me more stressed because I realised that I had let the nicotine craving win! I had done so well not smoking for 14 days!

But onwards and upwards tomorrow is a new day, and the fact the ciggy tasted vile may have helped with knowing I never want one again!

Thank you all again for your support it's helping so much x

Morning all, hope your day is going OK so far. Laurag89, welcome to a smoke free day. I know what you mean about the ciggie tasting vile - yet it's amazing how ready we all are to persist with smoking even though it tastes so horrible. Well, here's hoping for a smoke free day for everyone without too much stress. This is my first real day, and so far it's OK. Would normally have had about 2/3 cigarettes by now, but haven't. I dug out my vaporateur from last time, it's a little plastic cigarette with a nicotine cartridge - I call it my 'toy'! It helps with the 'something to do with the hands' bit, but it also makes me feel quite silly. Sax11, this might help for you, as there is no battery to wear out? Boots have an own brand you can buy which is cheaper than the branded versions.

Good luck everyone, off we go for another day!:)

I'm going to buck the trend here and say i've never found cigarettes to taste horrible. I seem to be such an odd case :D

Found this earlier though which seems very apt with what some people have said.

'Pay attention to when you smoke, where, and with whom. Then make specific plans for what you can do instead. Do you usually have a cigarette with a cup of coffee in the morning? Do you take a “smoke break” mid-morning with a co-worker? Write down alternatives that will keep your mind and body occupied. Don’t wait until after you’ve quit and the craving strikes!'

Thanks mmy, i'll take a look in boots at the weekend for one of those. I've no aversion to looking silly if it's going to save me £40 a week.
  • I also like the taste of cigarettes so you are not on your own Sax11. Well I have just come in from work, I only work 1 day a week, and sat down with a cup of coffee and for the first time looked in my handbag for my cigs. Forgot for a minute I don't smoke anymore!
yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift thats why its called the present ;)

  • Sax11 how did you get on today? did you have tic tacs with your coffee?
Have you joined nectar adds? where you can watch clips to earn more nectar points? just thinking of some things you could do online in the office.

MMY well done and lots of luck to more smoke free days. You are so right about how we managed to smoke all the cigarettes but when we have that one we realise how rotten they are.

Laura how are you getting on today?

Shinner good for you for not giving in, you are doing so well and some things are just sent to try us. I know what you mean about having a glass of wine and wanting a cigarette. years ago I used to only smoke one night a week when I would be in the pub.

June.Elizabeth I also liked the taste of cigarettes but hated the smell of them, I don't really like it now like when I have had a blip they tasted horrible.

Keep up the good work everyone, we are doing this
