Stop Smoking 2014 Diary

Hello
Yesterday I had went to the chemist after work for my CO reading and patches. I stood for 10 minutes while the woman behind the counter messed about trying to get a gift card to work, someone took over from her and she came to me. The lady then said I would have to wait 15 minutes till a pharmacist was ready so I just left as had to be home for my youngest coming in from school. I came home and had a cigarette.
I have also been worried lately as I had my routine lady check. I hate getting it done with a passion and just worry every second about it. Had thought it was probably not the best time to give up smoking because this check stresses me to the max.Today after work I came home to the letter to say its fine :j I actually did this lol
Went back to the chemist today and got my patches, the girl wasn't best pleased I didn't hang about yesterday but that is me sorted.
So as from yesterday that is me BACK on the no smoking.
Thank you everyone for your comments, tips and keeping each other and myself going. I enjoy reading all your posts.

Well tonight is going to be a challenge for me. Going out with work lot for a meal. I am driving so i don't drink. I am hoping that this will keep me strong. I have done 8 days 17 hrs and have not smoked 174 cigarettes :eek:
The reason I don't go to local chemist was due to me not being able to fit in with my working hours Debs2009 would spend my only afternoon (Sat) stood ages waiting. I also have opted this time for no nicotine as i think i need to get away from it. I have found not having to change my patch daily is nice and actually helps forget about it.
Well done Laurag89 for getting back on the wagon.
Hope you resisted june.elizabeth it is hard sometimes.
Wishing us all luck and will power:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:sealed pot challenge 099

I did resist. Had a stressful day so far. I broke my glasses and am blind as a bat without them went to the opticians and managed to get a temporary repair. I had to bring my eye test forward to next Friday and will have to buy some new ones. The price of glasses I am happy that I am not smoking, at least I will be able to afford them. Glad everyone else is on track.yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift thats why its called the present0

Can I join in please??
I have smoked on and off for over 36 years ...I started when I was 9, quit ten years later as soon as I discovered I was pregnant, started again shortly after having the baby, quit a couple of years later when expecting sprog number 2, started again and continued for another eight years.....I then quit again, for a whole six years, but then started a job that I was incredibly bored with so started smoking again and haven't stopped (other than a few days here and there) since!! That was approximately 10 years ago.....as you can see, I am a perpetual re-starter!!:o
I know that I have to stop, I hate the amount of money I am spending, especially as I can't afford to be spending that money, and I am so fed up with my lack of consistency that it is driving me nuts!!I am hoping that by having the support of other people who actually understand what a nightmare quitting can be will help me take the plunge and stick with it!!:D
I won't be officially joining you until Monday as I am out tonight with heavy smoking friends (staying overnight too, so probably not leaving them until midday tomorrow) and know that it really would be a pointless exercise to try to quit while there!!However, no excuses following that....I have bought a packet this morning to cover this and it will be the last packet I buy, even if I run out in the morning!!
I am not going to use any substitutes other than changing my habits....I never smoke when I am walking my puppy, so my plan is to drag her around the block every time I have a craving I have to beat!;):D
A big WELL DONE!!!! to everyone too....the fact that you are addressing the problem is a massive step forward!!:T:T:TMortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

Welcome on board icontinuetodream and good luck with your quitting.
Shinner that is some amount of cigarettes NOT smoked and a great amount of money saved. I think my figures would be roughly the same. Just think of the damage the 174 cigarettes would be doing to your lungs. It is crazy what we do to ourselves.
The app for that is great, I have it on my phone but reset it everytime I had a blip. I am hoping I mean that is me from now no, more cigarettes.
I am glad you are back with us Laura89
June.elizabeth have you tried selling on gumtree or anything like that. Not really sure what you could do with it all.
Sax11 how are you getting on?
Keep up the good work everyone

Hello to the regulars and to the new ones. Hopefully theres going to be some new advice for me to follow.
've been managing about 4 hours without any during the day then the habit takes hold again, still at least im not getting through 20 a day , a pack of 10 can last me 3 days. Having the kids round is helping as i'm too busy with them to have a smoke, plus the eldest whinges at me.
I'll be aiming for 6 hrs between them this week.
Never realised how difficult it all is. 28 yrs is long time bad habit.0 -
Hi hope everyone is having a great day!
Sax11 that is a great amount you have cut down, you must be noticing the saving in money you are making with not spending the same amount on cigarettes. Keep going you are doing well
