Can you not "refashion" your vest? I spilt bleach on a T-shirt which I loved, fitted nice. I lay the top on a dustbin sack in the garden and squirted all over with bleach. Looks brilliant now and I still wear it loads.

You can also paint onto fabric using bleach - paint words or shapes or a specific design.

Well done on getting rid of so much - bet you can see the difference with the shed gone! :T

I could dye it with Dylon I suppose, I've done that a few times and it's worked well.:)

depending on the fabric you absolutely could. If you wanted a really jazzy design you could always "paint" the parts you dont want dyed with wax (Batik) and then cold water dye garments. I love doing stuff like this as you end up with a totally unique garment - definite that no one else will have the same!!

Thanks for the inspiration suzeesu2000 - and wow, I've just noticed your signature - that is some decluttering!!!
Well, I've managed another 5 today (plus lots of paperwork shredded) so feel like I've accomplished something, and now my bedside cabinet is almost pristine - there's only a book and a coaster on it so am pleased with the result there - would love my bedroom to be like a 5* hotel as oppose the hovel it normally is - baby steps eh?

I'm having a make up clear out tonight, I'm being ruthless!! using this blog post as guidance (loosely... some things I think will last longer, but I'm drowning in the stuff here!) - http://www.nouvelledaily.com/blog/posts/2013/april/spring-clean-your-makeup-bag/
I need a shoe clear out too but if I chuck all the ones with holes/tatty/have stretched so they don't fit... I'll have none left :( but the big problem is I can't find any I like in the shops either!!! :'(

    That's why I love this thread...always thinking :)
Recycled lots of craft magazines yesterday. Took out the pages that I wanted first and kept just a few magazines. Slowly but surely I'll get there.

Be ruthless; look at every pair and ask yourself
    1. When did i last wear these?
    2. Do I have another pair I could use instead (ie - colour/style/to match that particular handbag)?
    3. Are they tatty? What would you think if you saw someone wearing shoes in the same state?
    4. Do I really want people to see me wearing these?

Once you have binned them you will feel better.

Alternatively, If you cannot bear to part with them, make them servicable again. Give them a good thorough clean, reheel & sole, Touch up any damage with paint (yes you can paint shoes). The advantage of this method is that you dont need to buy any more!!:rotfl:

And, on the make up front, remember the golden rule (especially with anything you wear on /near your eyes) open for six months and then the bin! Without exception!

Rounded a couple more things up for Ebay selling, plus a couple of tops for the CS bag that are in less than perfect condition. Chucked an emery board out as it's falling apart, does anyone need to carry 3 of them round in their bag?!

I got a letter off the CS I donate to this week telling me they've raised £13.12 so far from the products I've donated, every little helps I guess :p

Hi. Hope you don't mind me stopping by :o

My house needs a major declutter there is just so much stuff everywhere. I'm going to make a start with the kitchen / diner and go one room at a time. Tomorrow I will be clearing the kitchen bookcase of everything that shouldn't be there. It's going to be a slow process but hopefully this thread can spur me on :o
