WooHoo! We moved into out new house this morning- I am completely jiggered.

We now have to decorate, buy carpets, get the plumber and electrician in, gas man coming Monday....and put everything away once we have sorted thoroughly and been, again, brutal as to want we REALLY need to keep.

Dinner soon and then an early bath and bed me thinks, I am getting too old for all this malarkey.

Off to Ikea tomorrow to get a massive frame for all my tickets and memory bits n bobs. Been a bit ruthless and only kept the attractive ones - tube tickets from 1994 just aren't that exciting!
-Three bin liners full of paper recycling
-packet of dried out face wipes - bin
-broken lever arch file - bin
-carpet remnants - recycling (had these in a cupboard for 7yrs!)
-3 rusty wire baskets - bin
-9 takeaway leaflets - NO more takeaway!
    -used face powder - bin
    -broken bedside lamp - bin

Tomorrow I need to finish my craft room - I have tons of fabric/thread/bits n bobs in boxes to go through so I've allocated 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon

Not too much gone in here this week.

5 ebay sales this weekend so those and their packaging will be out this week.

Had a bit of a garden & shed tidy up, as some new planters in, some huge old boxes for furniture etc broken down for recycling, expanded polystyrene used to half fill planters.

OH had finally sawn up all the old fence panels, some of which being burnt in the chimnea that's currently giving me heat! Ditto some old receipts and junk mail.

2 More items into the CS bag, both of which I'm fairly sure were 'secret Santa' presents.

Used up one shower gel, I'm sure OH was having a secret race to see who could make their shower gel last the longest, his has been standig upside down on the side of the bath for at least two weeks now :rotfl:

Congratulations suzeesu on the house move
Bit slow here on the decluttering front.
Couple of things posted off from ebay. Feeling really tired and drained at the mo. Break up from work next week for the Summer term and I honestly can't wait. Hoping to use some of the time to get lots of sewing done and use up some of my material stash.
Well done to everyone still at it. Decluttering is just never ending and I think it's that, sometimes, that makes me feel despondent.

i am astounded we are STILL finding carp to dispose of. Missed the dustybinmen on Monday so now have an enormous pile of black sacks and recycling bags for next weeks collection.

Will be so much happier when we have decorated and found the money for the carpets - also need to get a new wardrobe or i cant hang my clothes or hubbys up.

I've failed fairly well on the decluttering front the past few weeks- only a few things have gone out, there's still a huge pile of junk sat on the floor to go out, and I've filled the place with brochures & magazines about bathrooms, kitchens, furniture and everything related to renovating our (hopefully!) soon-to-be new house. It's an enormous pile of brochures, and it's a nightmare going through them all trying to work out what we want and whether it'll fit with our budget :/
I've acquired some boxes from work to start the packing process, so I'll try to declutter whilst I start packing. I've already got two boxes of 'treasures' that don't really serve much of a purpose, and there's still loads I've not packed yet because I've run out of bubble wrap! I don't have massive emotional attachment to objects, so I've surprised myself by filling two boxes already.

On the plus side though, I have rehomed a number of books, and I'm rehoming a few more this weekend!

Hopefully next week, I'll have decluttered a whole load more stuff, or at least just got rid of the pile of junk from my floor!

When we moved, we actually filled an 18ton lorry:eek::eek::eek: This, form two people in a two bed house!

I think my DS and his GF will have that problem if they ever move, and they are only in a small 2 bed flat, lol!
tube tickets from 1994 just aren't that exciting!

I think I still have a bus ticket from 1980 somewhere, lol, from when I was working in Scotland!

I haven't posted on here for a while, but I really need to rejoin and get back into decluttering our house, as it's getting out of hand again. Over the past year or so I've had to spend more time helping my elderly dad, and making sure his flat was clean and tidy, so haven't had as much time to keep on top of my own house.

I now have a bit more time to myself, but unfortunately it's because my dear dad passed away a few weeks ago, so I'm a bit numb at the moment. I also have a lot of my dad's stuff to sort through, which is in the shed and doesn't affect the house, so I will do that when I feel up to it. We had all his mobility equipment collected today, so that has freed up some space, and this week I have been trying to clear the laundry basket, but now have a pile of clean washing on the armchair waiting to be ironed, hopefully I'll get some done tomorrow.

Last week I sorted the 'drawer of doom', as I had to look for a receipt to take some bits back, and loads of paperwork got chucked in there so the house was reasonably tidy for the funeral, it wasn't in there but at least the drawer got tidied, lol!
