I am dropping off a plastic bag at the pharmacy today with out of date medication.

Loads of old bus timetables and other "useful information" has gone in the recycling bin.

An unloved flower pot is going to the CS.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j

OH and I have made the big decision to buy a house together (!) and the only thing that's damping my child-like excitement is the thought of packing my flat up!

We've both decided to declutter with the aim of combining our households, so I've got to get a bit more serious about my decluttering :(

-sorted out an entire carrier bag of books to rehome without even being ruthless (probably try taking them to work for people to take),

-sorted out a carrier bag of card-making stuff to give to a family friend who has just started crafting,

-culled all of the novelty pens, rulers, sharpeners & rubbers I've been keeping since childhood (who doesn't need 12 sharpeners?!) which will go to the various nieces, nephew & children of family friends.

-a cup & saucer & matching cake plate, and a tall latte mug with spoon for the CS

Still so much to do- cannot even begin to comprehend how much I've got to do before moving!
    Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025
    Make £2024 in 2024- £852.21/£2024

97/200- bust my craft stash 2025!
166/200- bust my craft stash 2024! £106.80 spent
211/200- bust my craft stash 2023!

Does anyone else find the more stuff you get rid of, the more stuff you accumulate? I'm really struggling for space at the moment.

I saw this about decluttering and thought of you all.:)
    :D

Thanks for the link 115K. Had a quick glance to see if I wanted to bookmark it and laughed as I could relate to it in the first few sentences. Will have a good read of that.
I have 3 parcels going out yay :j

    Managed another 5:
    126. chocolate spread - ood - bin
    127. pen - dry - bin
    128. poloshirt - didn't like collar - bin
    129. used notebook - bin
    130. ring - cs
I absolutely love the feeling of being in control as my list of things leaving the house grows, but there is soooooo much more.

  • Only decluttering I've managed recently is turning the back garden from looking like a jungle into something that sort of resembles/looks like a garden. Until I have to do it again. Worlds worst gardener :-)

Old work coat with broken zip and old boots that I kept for gardening, in bin as I never use them.:)

Have sorted and tidied a drawer in our study and managed 5 more:
    131. stripe jumper - cs
    132. stapler - didn't work - bin
    133. old store cards - shredded
    134. dead pens - bin
    135. empty coin bags - bin
Also found 3 cents which will come in useful on our holiday (every little helps, and better still, a book with 4 2nd class stamps in).

    16 - Nailvarnish - ebay
17 - 3Xshower gel & body lotion- I wouldn't normally include toiletries empties here, but the soap and glory box I got for Christmas is all finishing at the same time so it's making quite the difference :) x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....
  • I've never been so decluttered in all my life - I literally only have what I need now and that's not much. I feel so much better for it! And I'm doing my first ever car boot sale on Sunday to get rid of the final lot!
