Hi PenguinOfDeath. Had a quick google but there seems to be loads of craft ideas for wooden pegs but not really anything for plastic ones though. Whilst I was looking I came across this site
http://how-to-recycle.blogspot.co.uk/ and I know I'm going to lose hours reading it. Masses of brilliant ideas for recycling virtually everything!

Thanks, thought plastic ones would be harder to do something useful with than wooden ones, in fact I chucked most of them away this morning as they were more broken than I remembered, the ok ones kept for clamping half eaten crisp bags etc closed. Will enjoy having a read of that website though! :D

Evening all - another 5 for me:
    91. Rosemary conley book - cs
    92. parcel ebay
    93. heated hair brush - bin
    94. eyemask - bin
    95. pair puma socks - bin

  • I seem to have a declutter every few months. Each time I do it I think I've got rid of everything I don't need, but the next time I find more and more. I'm getting more ruthless though, thankfully! I'm very much about simple living (I rarely buy anything I don't need, and I don't need much) so I'm really loving decluttering my life.

    In the last week I've:
Put 10 items on ebay (bike, camera, banjo, guitar, sunglasses and more)
Sorted through a massive box of paperwork
    Stored away winter clothes

Best of all I've put my entire life into a spreadsheet. Important dates, car details, finances, insurance, health (vaccinations, nhs no, ehic) etc etc. SO satisfying!

    5 today:
    96. cream cardi - cs
    97. ornament - ebay
    98. dress - ebay
    99. sun top - ebay
    100. handbag - ebay
and yay!! I've reached 100. So far so good, though already its becoming more difficult. I know the end product I have in mind (particularly for my wardrobe) but its very difficult to make the decision to get rid of perfectly good things.

I have a bag of stuff for the CS.

Thrown away some knickers which had a hole in them. :pI'm going through my underwear drawer today as I need to find another place for my swimming costumes to live. I won't throw them away as there is a remote chance I will go swimming again and they are good quality.

I'm definitely becoming more ruthless too like you SomethingGood.:T

I have ordered some new ear/headphones so I need to find a little box or something to keep them in so I will be going through the cupboards again to see if I can get rid or donate anything I come across.

Out today, a wrecked pair of shoes, more out of date food (this lot dated Feb 2011), another bag of stuff for the charity shop, a bag of books for the swap shelf at OH's work, 3 unused diaries, 2 old maps, some more packaging and old envelopes in the recycling.

Also listed some more baby stuff on ebay.

I haven't been on for a while and although I have done some decluttering somehow the spare rooms looks like a mess bomb has hit it :( Really need to spend a full day or at least half a day just in there sorting and organizing. Trying to get some things sold I know we don't need/use. Think I need to start popping on daily and doing a small area at a time!

Transferred Christmas gifts of toiletries into bathroom (Instead of keeping them "For best"!!!!!!:o)

This is my biggest problem! I have a box of "for best toiletries" I always say I'm keeping them to take on holiday... I have one of those massive Soap and Glory body lotions in there, who gets through that much on holiday!!
I also have a habit of taking all my samples on holiday and using them up, especially shower ones as we don't have a shower yet... that said dads working on getting it up and running pump and shower screens ordered I'm going to fly through my stock pile of shower gels :D yay!
Thanks, thought plastic ones would be harder to do something useful with than wooden ones, in fact I chucked most of them away this morning as they were more broken than I remembered, the ok ones kept for clamping half eaten crisp bags etc closed. I do this!
and...my mum gets very angry for it... possibly because I steal them off the washing line above the AGA, then they get left in my room... then suddenly we have no clothes pegs ... oops... lol!

    5. Ebay parcel - BIG BOX ! that was hurting my toes yay!
    6. Dorothy Perkins returns - I ummed and ahhed but decided the dress was toooooo short.
    7. 2 selotape rolls (well one parcel tape) the last bits finally used up. Does every household keep starting new ones before the old ones empty or is that just us?

I've seen a few of you mention getting rid of old books and maps, I hope you don't mind me being really cheeky but if you were to have any that aren't in any condition to be used, fit for the bin basically, broken, pages missing, stained, would you consider sending them to me to be re-purposed?
I'm hoping to start selling handmade arty bits on etsy, and using old books to make some of it.
I'm currently making bunting out of a book that I bought on ebay and found to have yucky stuff ,don't want to know what it is! It was a old library book being sold on... I've chucked the soiled pages and using the rest.
I'm an avid book lover, I have over 500 books, and could never part with any of them, so I never put a good book down, and books ready for the bin are so hard to come by :( but if you have any that aren't useable, please consider it, obviously I will pay postage, or collect if your near by.
Hope noone minds me asking x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....

i need to start getting on top of the decluttering again, i feel like ive not had a good clear out for ages, theres still loads to do, and i have been thinking twice before anything new comes into the house so going for the 2 pronged attack and trying not to let it come in in the first place.

gave another book away last week
and got a few more ive read on the shelf awaiting rehoming.
i did declutter a load of weeds and hedge clippings from the front garden so thats looking much better

pixitotts your book bunting sounds a lovely idea, ill certainly bear you in mine if i find any that arent readable and are falling apart etc. i saw instructions to make a cluth bag from a book and was going to do it but in the end i couldnt bear to rip the pages out of a perfectly good hardbacked book to do it.
