  • Hi all, :hello:
Not been posting for a while but I read the thread every Saturday to gain inspiration:D.
Over the last month I have cleared:
2 black bags of shoes and handbags to the clothes weigh place.
Thrown out a carrier bag full of tatty socks and unmentionables:eek:
Cleaned out the top of the fitted wardrobes
Sorted out all my table linens- Non discarded as a lot are heirlooms:cool:
Thrown out loads of recipes torn from magazines (copied fav ones onto netbook)
Used up loads of toiletries with one or two applications left in.
Transferred Christmas gifts of toiletries into bathroom (Instead of keeping them "For best"!!!!!!:o)
Sorted and shredded old uni files and taken empty files to work to be repurposed
Given a load of books to DS1 for CB sale
Thinned out the childrens "to keep" stuff (they are 19. 21 and 25)
Sent 4 boxes of ornaments/ vases/ knick nacks "saved" for use at a later date....As if!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So to say thanks I would like to send this:grouphug: to you all for the virtual kick up the backside I get each week.

1 large bag of clothes and 4 books to the CS today. Unfortunately a bag full of new clothes and two new cushions appeared, d'oh!

OH has a book I wanted to read but he's sure it's still at his parents house(!) so I borrowed it from the library instead, at least this way I can de-clutter it in 3 weeks or so!

Oh, does anyone have any uses for old plastic clothes pegs? I've about 20 in a bag that are slightly broken or I don't like (fussy beggar, me!). Now I'm thinking about them I just want to throw the bag out!

Hi PenguinOfDeath. Had a quick google but there seems to be loads of craft ideas for wooden pegs but not really anything for plastic ones though. Whilst I was looking I came across this site
http://how-to-recycle.blogspot.co.uk/ and I know I'm going to lose hours reading it. Masses of brilliant ideas for recycling virtually everything!

    On a mission this morning

    out so far
big box of out of date food (and I'm talking out of date - 2011, 2012ish)
    broken CD player
    2 old paint trays
1 box of useless slug repellent
    3 tins old, old paint
2 lots of oven cleaner (oven is broken, one tin had the date 2003 on it)
2 empty boxes and some bubble wrap

And CDs from the front room boxed up in preparation for painting the room.

Another 100 books bagged up for the charity shop this afternoon, 2 old DVD players put out on the front wall for someone to take, and 2 big binbags of junk chucked. One side of the bedroom now clear enough to be used as an ironing station. That's this week's target met.

Another 4 bags of books ready to go, on top of the 5 I took in the week and the 7 already in the back of the car. That's made a dent - another couple of hundred to go from the bedroom, and we might actually have enough shelf space for the remaining ones. I'm not even thinkiing about the 20 or so boxes in the loft that haven't been looked at in 14 years, nor the 1000 or so still at my Mum's - that's for another day.

Started doing a bit today. Had a general rubbish clear out and put all the recycling out.

Also put together a bag for the local charity shop of:
    • DD's winter school uniform: 5 tops, 3 skirts and a huge pile of tights. Won't fit her again so as the charity shop in right near the school, might be useful for someone as it is a school with logos on everything
    • Sparkly handbag mirror I'm not keen on
    • Very well used Radley bag - adored this and much loved but seen better days, but still life left in it
    • Daughter's old tangle teezer as she has a new one and a travel sized one
    • Old iPhone case, just replaced with a new one

Well done everyone, reading this thread really spurs me on. Nice day here so tidied the garden furniture trunk, have had to wash everything. Two folding chairs have went mouldy so trip for them. 3 pairs of roller boots, kids have grown out of, not sure it should bin or wash and give to CS. Old kitchen sink is going on gumtree will give it two weeks then freecycle.:T
