And a few things to try on ebay... Do people still buy pressure cookers? I'm 24 it's my mums, I have never ever known it to be used... :/ (Actually I don't even really know what a pressure cooker does :S)

Haven't read on to see if you've had any other replies but if you're on Facebook have a look to see if you've got any local selling groups. In the search box just type your town/area and the word 'sell' and it should come up with a list. I've sold no end of stuff through mine and it it's so convenient - no fees, no paypal, no postage etc buyer arranges to collect, pays cash and you're sorted!

This week I've finally used up a bubble bath and shampoo and the DDs have used up 2 of their Christmas toiletry stash so the bathroom is looking a little less cluttered.
Ebay bundle collected, and before the lady arrived I had a quick look round and found a few more bits to add in so 4 rather large carrier bags and a mini Christmas tree gone.
I tidied out the cupboard under the kitchen sink so not only does it look better in there I can now easily find things. Discovered I had far more black bin bags than I thought! I used a Celebrations tub to store all the cloths etc so that's one down from the stack in the garage - I find it hard to get rid of them as they're so useful!
Had a mini tidy up of the cupboard under the stairs and recycled a filled notebook that I don't need to keep as well as various bits of paper and some recipes I ripped out of magazines that I'll never make.
Think that's it for now! Keep up the good work my fellow declutterers :)

Have had a very busy week with volunteering in the CS - not a great deal of decluttering/housework done at all. Promise to try harder :(

This is my list for this week -

    69. Pair of size 8 shoes to CS
    70. 1 dining chair cushion pad to rubbish bin – 4 newish ones bought in CS
    71. Catalogues/leaflets straight into recycling bin – before I'm tempted to place an order
    72. 4 children's books to CS
    73. All 'every-day recycling' out into bin on daily basis
    74. Old 'margarine tubs' (used for freezer) into rubbish bin
    75. Junk mail isn't even getting up to the flat – straight into recycling bin by front door
    76. Christmas cards made into gift tags for next year - put in wrapping paper stash
    77. Returned a 'borrowed skirt' to CS - had been tempted to keep it, but it's NOT REALLY ME!
    78. 6 Charity Collecting bags redirected to our CS - we use them to line our tall pedal bin in the cafe. I don't trust some of these 'charities' - whereas I KNOW where our funds go!

There's a handy 2-page article on decluttering in February's Woman & Home magazine. I couldn't find it online, but did come across this gem of an article which ruthlessly tells you how to declutter shoes.

I'd need a few drinks before attempting it :D;)

Thanks for this I have a shoe fetish but am starting this today it's either eBay or charity shop

Here we go.....sick of living in a mess!!
  • 1 pair of shoes, 2 tops, 2 dresses & 3 pairs of trousers to the charity shop this morning.
  • I can't believe it, but two more things have been decluttered:-

    101 : Book - CS
    102 : Gift box - CS

I'm going to keep counting, as I find it fascinating!

cat04 - thanks ! I have popped it on ebay but if it doesn't sell I'll give this a go :)

VfM4meplse - :o! It's possible to declutter shoes?!?! This is a blatent lie!
I do love the last one though with them all in boxes they look snazzy like that... I may have to consider...

I've always been put off selling shoes since I had a pair which were absolutely beautiful... didn't fit because 7 years ago I was size 6 and now I'm size 5, I held on to them that long! Only ever worn the once... only sold for £1 :'( posting them was the saddest thing...

Not much decluttering going on at the mo... had a bit of a clear out in the unnecessary toiletries area. A few things that I just got real and realised I'd never use them so they might as well go. I mean when am I ever going to go "No I won't one of those *cough* 22 *cough* body lotions which I do like, instead I'll use this one that I hate"... it's never going to happen is it... so yep it has gone!

  • Been a bit lax over the past week, but it's a new month now and I'm having a 'February Fling'. Going to aim for 100 items again, it was easy to find 100 in January as I hadn't been decluttering for a couple of months.

    Starting off February with

    1. Pair of trousers
    2-3. 2 tops
    4-7. Magazines into recycling

    Must do better...!!

    Total 7 out of 100

Arrrgh this de-cluttering malarkey is creating more mess than I knew possible  January saw me laid low with an infection that stalled my best attempts, but now it looks like February will see me laid under a pile of 'stuff'. In my wisdom I encouraged my husband to start in the loft and work our way down, oh dear what have I done???

Before I stalled I sorted the bathroom and all of the Christmas boxes. Next as promised I did my car, a box full of leaflets used for a work promotion returned to the office, two dresses (waiting until I drove past a cleaners) have now been cleaned and back in the wardrobe, 2 carrier bags full of rubbish :o in the bin. I found deicer, windscreen wipes, scraper, antifreeze, bags for life, a pacamac and an umbrella which are now tidy in the boot. I had a bag of returns waiting to go back to M&S with gift receipts and got there about 1 day before the deadline. A pile of CD's in the wrong cases have now been re organised and 3 packets of baby wipes which had all but dried out have been binned. My grandsons bucket, spade, rake, wellies, hats, gloves and a coat have been returned to his mummy.

I did my big airing cupboard, my husband cut up the very old towels for garage rags, which means the newer ones at the bottom of the pile are now being used. Took two good bedding sets to the local charity and where did all of those pillowcases come from?

And now back to the loft ............ I may be sometime
