The utility room cupboard has been tidied, and yielded one thing to be decluttered :
99 : Dried up enamel paint - bin
Only need one more item to reach my target.
I have been pondering getting rid of my wedding dress - I also got married in a registry office, in the late 80s. The dress is beautiful, wish I could have said the same for the marriageI don't think I'm quite ready to get rid just yet though.
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

We've added to things today as it was hubby's birthday so we have 4 new books, some new diving equipment, yet another mug (to add to the 100 or so already stacked in the cupboard! lol) and a DVD boxset. To be fair, they're all 'forever' items, which I know will come in handy/get used/read so I'm not too worried.
Plus I have a big load of stuff to take out of the house on Saturday. :T Just have to tackle the bedroom and re-pack a few things ready for the loft and I should re-claim a few sqft from the clutter-fest that is my house! lolChanging my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

Some more mugs and plates taken to work for us all to use on a lunch time etc, they're all good condition so better than letting them go to the tip.
Weve had another recycling bag delivered from the council this week, thats going to take some getting used to! We now have a bag for paper, blue bin for cardboard, green bin for garden waste, brown bin for glass and plastic bottles and a grey bin for general waste! I've had to write down the collections in my diary as ill never be able to remember what order they will be collected in as no two weeks are the same!!
Managed to get a lovely pair of curtains for my newly decorated front room for £5 last night and they are brand new next ones, love a good bargain so i made a pact that one pair must go out now that will no longer match my living room. My parents are coming up later so im going to see if mum wants them for her room!
Im keeping on top of the other rooms but this weekend the small bedroom will finally be mine to use as i want, its taken a couple of days extra than i wanted but i will get there! xxSPC6 #116 £652.75

First post in a very long time!!! Not a lot has happened decluttering-wise so far this year. I've been off work for nearly three weeks now, with my dizziness
. Still can't get to the bottom of it, but consultant thinks it may be Meniere's. This shouldn't really be used as an excuse for not trying to sort out the house
.
Anyway, a bag of unwanted tshirts, jeans, bed sheet, shoes x 2 pairs went to the charity collection bin today, finally leaving the house. 2 sales on ebay and 2 on Amazon :T, all posted. DD and I sorted out a cupboard yesterday and recycled lots of packaging that we don't need, bitty bits went in the bin, and some toys that are able to go on ebay. I also threw out some spice mix which smelt like dust and had a use by date of 2007 :eek: I have another one (UBD 2008) but it still smells ok:rotfl:
However, I had a delivery from Approved Foods today so that's a whole load of things waiting for a home. It is mostly food so it will get eaten, apart from 2 x hair dyes which has saved me loads of money.
Glad to see everyone else is doing really well with their decluttering, keep it up :j and I promise to do better next monthMortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,869.54 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £130 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £136.04 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -
You might want to investigate selling the old ones you don't want. I've seen them for sale on ebay, designers buy them for cardmaking etc. They won't make you rich, but maybe a small treat or two
I was going to suggest something similar.
I did GCSE and A level art and raided my Grandmas and Grandads for old pictures to use. I actually found a pile of them earlier and put them to one side to look through later. Thinking I'm going to use some in one of these snail mail swaps I do.
I'm a sucker for a black and white photo and a story.
aimeemum - I know that 100 or so mugs feeling we actually can't fit all of ours in the cupboards any more. The 8 I brought home from uni actually live in my bedroom now because me one lone person moved home with 10 mugs! When I move out everytime someone comes round they are going to be drinking from a uni mug... it's going to be my "thing" like one of my friends always uses disney mugs lol
Faced the tardis again, 1 more black bin bag of rubbish, 1 burning rubbish, all the solicitor stuff, and building applications from our old house...were talking 3 boxes of stuff all 20+ years old...and I'm still going...
Have got rid of all art stuff, and all parcel stuff (ebay supplies basically), into the tardis cupboard. I'm avoiding doing the bottom though it is just a pile of stuff... I don't wanna do it
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Two books in the charity bag.
That reminds me I have a crate full of this sort of techie stuff. Must look it out soon and prune it!
Another trip to the charity shop with loads of skirts and a black bag full of cuddly toys. Once my friend calls tomorrow to collect baby stuff for her grandchild I will feel I am making headway.
The worst part is to come of course when I do get round to tackling the photos.0 -

Another one here with a mug mountain!
OH is a tea obsessive so already has loads of mugs for different times of the day(!?), plus we always get at least one for Christmas to add to the pile (this year we received 3, one useful that will be kept, one that has sat unused in the cupboard and one that has already been sent to the CS)
I have finally started to tackle the old airing cupboard in out spare room, I've been bugging OH since we moved in to install shelves in it to put towels, bedding, toiletry stocks etc in it more easily instead of the hazardous avalanche in waiting it is now, now I'm taking matters into my own hands by buying storage drawers for the bottom, an over door hanger thing for small bits and digging wood scraps out of the garage - this will happen!!0 -
Managed to find my 100th item :j
