:T I enjoy reading about your achievements as well.
Over the last few days I have managed to:
* Finally sorting out my old photo indexes
* Shredded and sorted out various paperwork re: looking for work, writing a CV etc. Loads of old internal training certificates have been shredded. Don't know why I have kept them for so long.
* Loads of recipe leaflets have been moved to the recycling bin together with some old catalogues.
* Today while sitting on the train I managed to tidy up my handbag and reading 2 old newspapers.
I am having a day off from work tomorrow so hoping to do some more decluttering then.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

My contribution today is 4 magazines in the recycling, and a pair of trousers and a top. I'm still functioning in a fog, not really motivated to declutter, but OH and I decided today that we'll smarten the house up a bit and put it on the market next February 1st. Can't do it before as we have a wedding coming up in the summer and we need to replace the bathroom, and decorate most of the rooms before we can do that. Not fussy decorating, just emulsioning the walls a better colour and getting walls plastered that need it and lots of 'bitty' jobs. Bathroom will be very plain, as that's what all the selling house programmes tell you people want these days. Plus a good declutter..... so I've got 363 days from today to get it all done!

Thinking I should try this whole 100 items thing.
I was sat last night staring at the 'mess' in our bedroom and I realised that the 'mess' isn't anywhere near as messy lol. Ok, it needs sorting......again!..... but all of it has a home somewhere, there's very little rubbish in amongst it all.
Thanks to this thread (and this forum generally) I've been more motivated to sort, clean, tidy and remove and live in a savvy fashion than I ever have been before. I can't thank you enough. I'm putting junk mail in the bin, I'm putting leftovers in proper tubs and I'm creating space for us to live which hasn't been available to us in years! :j Seriously...this is revolutionary! I still have a way to go, but this weekend hubby and I are moving our bedroom around (wanted to do it a year ago but it was too cluttered!) ready to put his desk up there. I've ebayed so much that I've got a very small savings pot for the first time in....well..... ever!
Ok, money wise I'm struggling, but everything is brilliant! :T:T:TChanging my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

another 11 cushion covers out last night, literally put them on freecycle for about 3 minutes and someone was wanting them, i put that the first person to want them could come and get them rather than waiting, she picked them up around 5 mins later, i found out she uses things like that for the charity that she volunteers for and gives them out (after shes customised them) to make the people smile - i love this! ive told her she can have the next lot that i find out, shes added me on fb so i can see where they go to. She brought me a gift as a little thank you and i was welling up! I'm glad when someone can make use of something i am no longer in need of.
tonights mission is to get another freecycle item out of the house, fingers crossed the person i pick can collect when im in. I have another item that i have sold and hopefully they can collect also tonight.
i love this thread, it has really boosted me to get things done, i now have a clear enough middle bedroom that it can have the carpet cleaned!! its not too bad but i want it to look perfect for when we have visitors in the summer, a local guy charges £10-£20 depending on the size of the carpet so he can come and sort it for me
happy de-cluttering today and i will be back tomorrow no doubt xSPC6 #116 £652.75

Well, I've got a 2nd interview! Keep your fingers crossed, I'm prepping for that rather than clearing.

That's encouraging - well done
I just had another rummage in the kitchen this morning. I pulled a couple of bits out for eBaying, but mostly it was just a re-organisation, to get things neater. I've freed up quite a bit more room.
However, some of the bits I put back in the cupboards haven't been used in a while, but they are things I'm very attached to, so I decided they were keepers.
I also had a rummage in the cupboard in the dining room. I've been storing CD's in there..... I have a LOT of CD's!!
Once I've finished selling all our old LP's I'll make a start on the CDs. There's always something new to do in De-cluttering World :rotfl:Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
I've subscribed to a previous thread and then not done anything about it.
My lightbulb moment however came when the fire brigade visited our house for a minor house fire a couple of weeks back. It didn't spread thankfully, but they wasted no time telling us how much clutter can inhibit your escape in a house fire, and no I'm not one of those people you see on tv, I just have a bit more stuff than many.
This weekend, weather permitting, I plan to start with my little porchy outhouse bit as having a proper recycling and rubbish storage area will help from thereon. Not only that, but it's a small area that will give instant results and hopefully the impetus to tackle bigger projects.
Onwards and upwards... my kick up the bottom has been duly received.
