unixgirluk, good luck with your 2nd interview. Fingers crossed.
I had a day off work today so managed to:
* Hoover and dust
* Sorted out 50% of the mail pile
* Used up a packet of crisp breads
* Dealt with 3 phone calls that has been on my list to deal with for ages. Great feeling to get them ticked off.
Back to work tomorrow so will get back to this challenge over the weekend. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -

22) empty box (another one)
23) another (dregs) of shower gel used up (albeit to clean to the bath!
Good luck with your second interview. Listed more stuff today, sold a few things so they can go tomorrow. OH is bringing boxes downstairs and sorting them, so moving slowly. Off again tomorrow so will carry on
Very tempted to declutter a box of MilkTray that was on roll back in Asda last week in case there are more tomorrow :rotfl:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Been out of touch as my baby is now just over 4 weeks so I have been a bit busy
however I am now back decluttering with a vengeance!
Today I took 4 carrier bags filled with things to the charity shop and hubby took a packed car load to the dump :j Still a long way to go but at least it is a startTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Congrats on the new baby Rummer xx
Found a little bit of enthusiasm today - it comes in fits and spurts at the moment - and decluttered a few things:
14. Scarf
15. Pair of gloves
16. Pixie hood for child
17-18. 2 bottles lavender essential oil
19-21. 3 mini glass containers
22-25. 4 fabric covered containers
26. Pack of make-it-yourself wind chimes
27. Canvas picture
28. Picture frame
29-32. 4 jars/tins of outdated food
33-38. 6 various opened cartons of drinks
39. Pair of curtains
A mere dent in the ocean of stuff that needs sorting and clearing, but every little helps....Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Hi All, managed a couple of empty boxes out of the house last night to a friend that needs them for moving things in her house whilst she has builders in.
I have a pretty clear evening tonight so fingers crossed for some more things out the door!

Hi Guys
I've just stumbled on this thread by accident, but I'm hoping you will be kind enough to let me join in as I desperately need you in my life!
My name is Gill, and I'm a massive hoarder!!!
I live alone, and various things including an injury and working long hours on a shift pattern have led my home to get out of control.
Every so often I start a massive declutter, but I never seem to get it finished and it keeps getting worse.
I don't like people coming to my house, and I don't even invite my parents round anymore which is horrible! There are so many DIY jobs that need finishing - never mind starting, and its beginning to get me down a lot now.
I'm going on holiday at the start of July, and my cousin will be moving in to take care of the animals, so my deadline is actually the beginning of June to have everything clean, clear and tidy. I'm not going to also add having the DIY done to this, as I have neither the time nor money for that in that timeframe to be honest.
I'm presuming there's somewhere I should start ???? I'm going to read through all this thread tonight, but is there like a rules / suggestions section or anything ?
I'm going to try and post once a day at least, so that I can keep you all updated with my progress.
I've so many boxes, piles, stacks its ridiculous, and whilst I live in a 2 bed terrace I literally have no storage space at all!
First things first, I have the biggest pile of books ever. Most of them look like they've never even been read. Some of them I would like to try and sell, does anyone know the best way to do this ?? Others I think I will take to the local hospitals cancer unit, as they sell them in there to raise funds.
Thanks in Advance

Welcome Gill
Books are a tricky one I find them really hard to sell, I'm a bit of a book addict so cant say I'm that experienced with selling them but the few duplicates I've had I have tried to sell and found very few are worth selling online because of postage costs... I have one currently trying to sell on ebay I have a duplicate, would have cost me more to return than I paid for it so on ebay it went 1p starting price but postage is so much it's hardly worth it loads cheaper I don't know how anyone makes money selling books on there
Specialist ones are definitely worth listing on ebay or selling through amazon (< not done this since they have changed the system though I'm afraid). But other option is maybe a carboot or table top sale something like that if you have the time?
XI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
Hi, gill I have been trading in books on amazon recently and getting good money for some, might be worth a try, though the prices vary widely day to day so if you see a good price go for it! One book I traded I got 11.67 for and a few hours later it was £2! It goes the other way too, but in the interests of getting rid quickly you wouldn't want to keep checking. Amazon also pay the postage which is good for books which tend to be heavy. My best advice is try to handle each item once and make a quick decision. The space feels so much better than the items. Also try working round the room clockwise from the door, if I don't work methodically I go round in circles in the middle and wear myself out whilst also getting dizzy! Hope this helps:)0
