day off today and I have:
    • Emptied the rubbish from my car (one carrier bag full!)
    • Poo picked the back garden & picked up the windfall branches off the lawn
    • Sorted through two charity shop bags full of hand-me-down clothes from mum's neighbours and have a nice big charity shop bag of clothes to hand on to a friend as quite a lot of it was too small for DS#1 (9).
    • Decluttered two films off the Humax (and two bags of roast chicken crisps from box in kitchen.)
    • Decluttered mince from freezer and last of xmas cheeses into lasagne for tea :j
    • Finally moved HWTHMBO's rucksack from his chairdrobe to the cupboard where the rest of the camping stuff lives.
    • unpicked DS#2's beaver badges from his jumper and took the jumper up to cubs.
    • found extra t-shirt we 'inherited' from cub camp in JULY:eek: and took it back to cubs tonight.
    • decluttered cheque from cheque book for cub's subs.
got about 30 minutes before DS#2 comes back from cubs, gonna have a quick squint at some TV.
just in case you need to know:

    11) finished lots of bottles (dregs) of various cleaners, bottles now in the recycling bin. :)
    12) Old candle jar and two lids (why two? not sure!)

Tomorrow's task is shredding a lot of paperwork I've cleared out.

    Tidied up under the sink:
    - 3 bottles used up or decanted into another.
    - 2 items binned
    - 2 tea cosies, an apron, an ovenglove and a bag to recycling

For some reason I have over 200 metres of cling film, three different part used rolls of bin liners and four bottles of Stardrops :o

I've been lurking for a while and your lists have inspired me. So much going on for me has left no time for decluttering and it's time to get a grip. I like the "one item a day" idea so I thought I'd start there... (drum roll)..
Have put 3 cardboard wine boxes in the recycling bin. Theyd been sat on my worktop taking up space for months because the 'foldiness' appeals to me, but ive suddenly had a LBM and realised I rarely buy wine and when I do its only one bottle.
Out by the bins in the dark at 4am it felt like a new start :)

Welcome hellowave.gif to the declutterbugs, stellata/Magnolia - it may be one small step for a woman BUT it's a giant leap into the world of decluttering :T.

I've got my 'morning shift' at the Charity Shop today and I WILL be chanting my new mantra throughout my time there - 'I DO NOT want it; I DO NOT need it; I'm NOT taking it home with me!'

I'm off for a quick rummage to see if there's anything I can take in with me ............ I'm sure there MUST be ;).

    Can I join please?

I am frightened that I am turning into my father! He is terrible at putting things off an piling things up in the house/work/garage that he doesn't need, and also putting jobs off! I am becoming exactly the same! The problem is mainly concentrated in the spare room at home, which is currently a complete tip. It is the place where things go to make the rest of the house look tidy!

I am going to go home for lunch today and make a bit of a start on it. I know that half an hour even would make a decent hole in it, but my problem is getting the motivation to start!

Will be back on to update on my progress!
    Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):

    Total:£7564.11/£10 000 (as at 26/10/14)
  • Three bags of clothes put out for Breast Cancer yesterday, and I must have missed them, so off to charity shop today

Over 60 items gone on ebay this month, but I did to an auction and bought more, but I am sorting and binning / charity shopping as I go along as I tend to take stuff out, sell and put the rest to one side for sorting later.

Heard something related to post. OHIO - Only Handle It Once, so now sort post as soon as I get it.

It's a long slog, but I am definitely starting to look at things in different way
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • Listed some things on Amazon this morning, but won't count them until they are sold! So:-
