Not sure I'm going to get to 100 by the end of the month, but definitely feeling more like the flat is my home, rather than just a collection of things that need sorting out IYKWIMDeclutter 100 items in Jan 11/1000 -
Having just posted on the Coats thread, I think that is one area to be addressed!
Took all the stuff I had gathered over the weekend to the charity shop yesterday. Have had to concentrate on various other non decluttering tasks today but managed to sort out one small collection of paper work. Most of it was shredded and 3 invoices/receipts filed in correct folder.0 -

Wow - turned my back for a couple of hours yesterday and you're all leaving me WELL behind in the decluttering stakes
.
I DID manage to have a 'sort-out' in my/our bedroom yesterday morning - as yet, nothing has actually 'left the house' BUT there's more in progress ........... however, I AM keeping a record of what I've done so far
26. Battery Operated Hair Removal Kit (unwanted Christmas present) – to go to CS
27. Half a dozen old batteries into the 'dead battery coffin' to be emptied at S/m when it's full.
28. Load of old brochures/booklets from past holidays – into recycling bin.
29. Lots of bits of costume jewellery found around bedroom – all in 'odds 'n' sods jewellery box' for the time being – to be sorted out properly at a later date, but at least they're back where they belong for now.
30. 3prs of 'holey tights' – into rubbish bin.
31. 3 old College Assignments (2009) – paper removed into recycling bin & folders into 'office-type stuff'.
32. Found another large packing box of 'old college assignments' – but at least they're 'tidy' at the moment – will be sorted and disposed of over the weekend.
33. Found some 'good tights' and put them all together in a bag – stashed in 'undies drawer'.
34. Tidied shoes at bottom of wardrobe and put boots back into their boxes.
35. 3 books into CS bag.
36. Face creams (chrismas pressies) put into 'Vanity Bag stashes'.
37. Foot care items put back into their Storage Bag.
38. Various items of makeup put back into Cosmetics Vanity Case – dgd1 is notorious for rummaging and leaving it lying around.
39. 1 'standing' shower gel decanted into a 'hanging container' and bottle into recycling.
40. All Recycling now out into main Outdoors Recycling Bin.
I'm off to the CS for an afternoon shift later today, in the meantime, I'm off for a shower and to get ready ....................
Will try to get back in later today, but don't expect to have made any further 'headway' into my decluttering.
see you all later, declutterbugs - Lilyplonk xx0 -
No work today so I'm starting on the paperwork monster (it's outgrown being a simple mountain
). First pile to tackle is the one on the floor under the dining table (it got put there off the table on Christmas Day so we could have dinner...
Ooops). I seem to have stashes of paperwork all over the place that are occasionally sorted into appropriate piles, but then get shuffled whenever I need to find anything. So I go forth armed with folders, files, hole punch, stapler and shredder - I may be gone sometime

Hello there!
I'm joining in on this as my housemate has just told me she's moving in with her boyfriend so I need to make the house presentable and look like someone else could fit their stuff in!
My aim is to declutter a room every few days, starting today with my bedroom (as currently my clean washing is sitting on the kitchen table waiting to be put away).
As well as that I have a kitchen, living room, bathroom and my study to do as well. Wish me luck as I've never been great at this as I like to keep stuff!Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -

I did go through my two files, but mostly did rearranging rather than getting rid of stuffHave plenty more paperwork to sort out, will start on that tomorrow ...
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Afternoon all
My first posting for 2014!
Was ill all weekend and didn't go to work on Monday but this meant I was housebound for 3 days solid so got a fair bit of decluttering done. Saturday it hadn't properly kicked in so I took a full bag to British Heart. I normally see my boyfriend at weekends so it is rare for me to have the whole 2 days at home so I was amazed at what I could get done.
Managed to:
1. Declutter 2 films and 2 episodes of Inspector Montalbano out of the sky box (18 left!), when Celebrity Big Bro is over my plan is to watch 3 a week
2. Bag of mixed toiletries/ makeup collected by freecycler today (left it on doorstep)
3. 2 pairs of jeans sold on ebay and posted yesterday. To be honest am thinking it was a waste of time because when you take out the postage and fees I only end up making about £5 or so
4. Cheque from mazuma received and deposited in account for iphone 4
5. As I was at home I was able to have baths and used up 2 bottles of bath stuff
6. Ate various bits from freezer like couple of eclairs and ice cream slices that were just taking up space in their boxes, plus odds from 3 boxes of party food so that was 5 boxes out :T
Not sure what the plan for the weekend is but will find something.0 -
Feeling pretty good about things - my goal in January was to declutter 100 items and so far I'm up to 52. I can do it!
Quite a lot of the items which have gone were stuff I'd sold on ebay, which I'm pleased about as I really need the money! I always think it helps me to get rid of stuff if I know I've had some money for it. I hate thinking about how much money I have wasted over the past few years on stuff I'm now giving away or selling for a fraction of the original cost. Hopefully all this decluttering is going to help me to be more sensible with my money in the first place!0
