When I did my PGCE one of my mentors used that expression when talking about the post in his pigeon hole, haven't heard it since then, made me
I am trying really hard to open stuff straight away and sort it, and get myself off spammy mailing lists I don't want to be on anymore too to reduce the amount of post we're getting. Also doing "return to sender no longer lives here please remove from mailing list" for past owners stuff.
I've done some selling this week and no shopping so things are good - I'll do a proper update over the next couple of days, very busy at work at the moment.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Good evening all :hello: - and
to all new de-clutterbugs.
41. 2 more books for CS
42. 2 wooden/bristle pastry brushes for CS
43. 1 plastic cheese grater for CS
44. 1 s/steel apple corer for CS
45. general household recycling put out
All stuff set aside for CS has now left the flat - though to be honest, it doesn't look as though any dent has been made in the actual level of clutter. Instruction to self 'must try harder' ....................
Mobile hairdresser was here an hour ago - so have also had my hair 'decluttered' :rotfl:.
No plans for tomorrow, so lots of lovely spare 'decluttering time' ahead of me :j :j :j.
Keep up the good work everybody - you're doing yourselves proud and really putting ME to shame.
I'm popping back in again later, to catch up with any more posts - bye for now - Lilyplonk xx0 -
Bottle of shampoo & bottle of shower gel finished this morning. Now in recycle bin.
2 tubs of vanish stain remover powder found at back of cupboard under sink. Now emptied & tubs also into recycling bin.
Over the past few days, been getting rid of books off my kindle & the "Manage My Kindle" bit on Amazon. Got rid of about 50 or so books at the moment. Majority of them were free books anyhow. And when I looked at them, I wouldn't read them now. Some of them I got in 2012 & hadn't even looked at them0 -

Thank u for your welcome, that feels nice
I've started a charity shop bag and it has in it.. an electric egg boiler I never use, a pink leather filofax ditto, and a plant sprayer bottle someone gave me. I dont have any plants so out it goes.
I checked in the charity shop next to my work and yes they do take electricals. Im going to have a scout round now for anythjng else to put in.
Somehow it seems better thinking of "what can I put in the CS bag?" than what shall I do with all this clutter IYSWIM?Magnolia Stellata0 -
13) Broken set of digital bathroom scales
Got these fancy scales about 5 years ago and gave away my manual ones. The scales just do not work now (error on the screen), and I'm wishing I'd kept my manual scales and not wasted my money (they were about £25)
14) carrier bag full of shredded paperwork (more to come)CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Evening all.. ooh didn't realise how late it was!!
We have been given the thumbs up to move :j:j:j:j
So.. it's all go here to really start a proper declutter, we'll be downsizing considerably so lots of furniture will need to be sold along with lots of unused items & the local CS's will benefit also as I'm planning on doing one big car boot & what doesn't sell gets donated.. no quibbling!
So excited about it all... :rotfl:
Well done to everyone on all their hard work :T & thanks for the inspiration you give me to keep going :kisses3:
Oooh.. Welcome to all newbies :hello:

~Bag of odds & old bits for recycling (to be dropped off tomorrow)

I'm stepping back in for 2014! Hopefully moving out this year, viewing a place Saturday. If that goes well I will be having a BIG decluttering but slowly decluttering in anticipation of moving out0

So far today, I've only managed to 'declutter' the Laundry Bin - this is REALLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
My punishment now is to head off into the bedroom  - to find at least 10 items to take into the CS tomorrow AND see how much rubbish is lurking in storage boxes .......0
