Hi Everyone
I really have to declutter this year:eek: Spent 5 hours on Sunday sifting through junk to find DD1's old football boots for DD2. Did succeed but what a waste of time!
My house was lovely and tidy before we had kids but now its gone to pot and I can't find anything. One of main problems is clothes. Must be ruthless!0 -
Morning all!
Haven't been all that productive I'm afraid!
Did declutter one wine glass......well, smashed it! - bin
One Yankee Candle - onto the next from the stash! - bin
A pair of blunt hairdressing scissors - bin
A cardboard wine carrier - recycled

Hi screws might be released by screwing them first in direction that would be tightening them, it can help break the seal and then try unscrewing. Was a technician and used this technique frequently with stubborn screws. Worth a try
Ooooh, yes definitely, will give it a try, thank you
Well, I haven't started on the paperwork - I'm waiting for the boiler engineer and hugging the fire at the momentWhen the heating is working again and it's warm, I am going to go through two files of stuff - I've even identified which files ... will be back later ....
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

will i lose the weight again (or, more realistically, ever succeed in getting it off AND keeping it off? or shall i just send it all to charity (or ebay it) to stop it from mocking me? its a tough one.
anyway. nice to meet you
Bella
Bella I have the same, a suitcase of clothes "for when i lose weight" I've only kept the best stuff though, and am finally starting to lose weight so will keep it for now. Have got rid of anything that was cheap to begin with or thats pretty much out of fashion as I know when i've lost the weight i will want to treat myself to some nice new things (and i know i will deserve it by then!) xNovember 2018 make £10/day - £21/£300

:hello: I need to join, or at least lurk on this thread this year.
I've been working on decluttering over the past few years and have made great headway with it all.
Over the last 10 years DH and I have got married, moved house several times and had a baby (now 6!) and now have another on the way (due in August). All of this has helped us to accumulate a lot of 'stuff'.
Our spare room needs a good sort out to be turned into a nursery. Which means trying to work out what to do with the bed currently in there, as it will be useful to keep but the room isn't big enough for that and a cot etc...
We have kept pretty much everything of dd's from the past 6 years, in the knowledge that we'd probably have another one day. So I need to get all of the stuff together and sort through it, to try to put it into some sort of order and try to declutter some of it. Which will be much easier when we know it this one will be pink or blue!
I will visit this thread often for motivation, and perhaps some support. :beer:0 -
Bella,
I used to think like that, after having dd I went from a 10-12 to a 18-20!
I did keep some things, even though I felt like I would never wear it again.
It felt soo bloody good when I did eventually lose the weight and could get back into them!
Don't give up, you obviously don't want to give up or you wouldn't have kept the clothes x0 -
41 toiletry items sitting ready to take to Women's Aid on Thursday. And that is just half the cupboard
A pack of tights to go too.
4 lots of packaging to recycling.
Found my hairgrips so saved buying new.
2 out dated tins disposed of.
106 this month.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi all, well after last weeks haul i managed to get all the rubbish to the recycle centre, ive just got to take the bag to the charity shop and the other two to the weigh in place, just need the time to do it, will probably be saturday.
Ive managed to sell some lego, got rid of some tins of paint that we dont need any more (freecycle) along with some other bits and bobs on freecycle.
cleaned the garden up the best i could in the current weather, quick sweep up of the leaves and twigs that have come off our tree (seems to be never ending) and the things that have fallen over etc. Managed to source a terracotta style plate thingy to put my chimney pot onto so that i can make it into a planter when the weather is a little better (the chimney pot was taken down before it blew off!)
tonight i am off out to a meeting but tomorrow i am back on it! love seeing the spare room emtying, it will be mine for the end of January!!!
Need to do:
Take fold up bed back to Nan in law's
Take items to charity shop and weigh in place
More items on freecycle
move christmas decs up loft (if i find the courage!)
move table from middle bedroom to small bedroom and make it start and look like a craft room!!
see if friend wants her bean bag back otherwise it will go on freecycle (its huge and takes up half the room!)
put ironing away when done rather than leave in a pile
sort more items for charity shop - start on the shoe stash (i dont wear half of them, theyre all heels and im 6ft as it is!!)
bye for now! xSPC6 #116 £652.75

1. 9 uni books to Amazon trade in
2. 1 bag of clothes to my friend (at least 15 things in there)
Not a great start but it's a start.0
