  • Okay, decluttering has come to a grinding halt, as I cannot get the final two screws out of an old, broken laptop in order to get the hard drive out :( Any ideas? Otherwise, I will have to take a hammer to it to destroy it completely (was going to take out the hard drive, keep it, and send the laptop for recycling).

My little haul to take to the Charity Shop this morning -

    19. 1 Radiohead Video
    20. 1 Radiohead Tee-shirt
    21. 1 Man's shirt
    22. 1 Man's Jacket
all offered NOT just taken without permission ;)
    23. 3 Paperback Books
    24. 4 Hardback Books
    25. Loads of carrier bags

Kept on top of all recycling and it went out for collection this morning.

Have got a 'free half day' tomorrow, so will try to 'have a good rummage' around our bedroom. I'm sure we can come up with more stuff between us.

Hanging my head in shame though - brought home some second-hand dvd cases for OH :o. I suppose those are counteracted as he has given away a few items during the past week ;).

  • i need to join this discussion as I will be moving to a smaller house/flat in the summer and want to get decluttered first so that packing up to move is less overwhelming. I did make a good start last year but then came to a standstill. I still have the kitchen to do, also the loft and my clothes.
one problem with clothes is I have a boxful of really nice size 10/12 jeans and tops that I really like. however for the past three years it has sat in the corner and laughed at me, saying 'what? you think we will have any truck with you? you size 14 blubberbus!'
will i lose the weight again (or, more realistically, ever succeed in getting it off AND keeping it off? or shall i just send it all to charity (or ebay it) to stop it from mocking me? its a tough one.
    anyway. nice to meet you

  • Ebay and carboot the clothes, treat yourself to nice clothes for your shape now with the proceeds :) If and when you decide to shed a few pounds (whats wrong with being a 14 anyway?! :) ) you can have fun buying even nicer things for a slimmer you :)

Hi screws might be released by screwing them first in direction that would be tightening them, it can help break the seal and then try unscrewing. Was a technician and used this technique frequently with stubborn screws. Worth a try :)
