I'm trying this as well - have so much stuff that it's piling up in my spare room, as well as elsewhere - have a loo roll holder in our hall waiting 'to go to the charity shop' for a least a month now.
One or two items a day is doable - in fact I'll go put out that old dinged-up holder in the bin now.

I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
I have just washed out some jars and recycled them rather than bunging them in the dishwasher and having to handle them again when they come out.
I have also emptied the airing cupboard and put the clean clothes away. Nothing wanted ironing which is a bonus0 -
Good evening all declutterers  Oh dear, how the best-laid plans of mice and (wo)men can be devastated by untimely events.
In my case it was the arrival of DS2, his g/f and dgs3 (age 5) with a request to look after dgs3 while they went shopping for a few hours . What did I do? - took him grocery shopping with ME instead :rotfl:.
Here's my limited progress so far for today ....................
46. Decluttered tower of drawers at side of PC - all drawers now neatly re-organised with 'bits 'n' bobs' lodging in margarine tubs to stop them getting mixed up. Much easier to find stationery stuff etc.
47. Decluttered drawer containing tea-lights, fragranced candles, wax tarts, votive candles, refresher oils, joss sticks, plug-in refills etc - all now sitting tidy.
48. Clothes airer and radiator rails emptied, all laundry folded and put away and airer put away in landing cupboard.
49. FOUR blocks of cheese from fridge now grated, put into zip-lock bags and stashed in freezer for future use.
50. Managed to break one 'fish-slice' whist cooking evening meal - immediately discarded into rubbish bin!
51. dgs3 decluttered back to his parents .................
I'm now sitting here 'playing on the PC' with a lovely Yankee Candle burning and enjoying the peaceful ambience. A quiet flat - what joy!
I can but try again tomorrow - think I may disconnect all phones.
Good Luck everybody - Lilyplonk xx0 -
Well the house we viewed was "rough". There was damp, badly painted over mold, a retro bathroom suite that was falling apart, wee smell from the carpet and much more wrong with the place! I've got two bags ready for the charity shop tomorrow lunch time and listing on eBay today. Hopefully we will find the right house soon and I can declutter all the lovely house stuff I have (a spare room full) into it0

Been to my lock up today and done some more sorting / decluttering. I have someone who works for a local charity coming next week to take a load of stuff. Told her it will be ongoing as I mean to sort stuff as soon as I buy.
Realised that because of what I do we are never going to be totally tidy but if we can clear out what we have and then sort stuff as soon as we buy, I can live with that
Working Monday & Tuesday but then sorting and listing on eBay againYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Having a bad day today, I'm job hunting (my job finished at Christmas) and now OH's job has finished up as well.
unixgirluk Hope you both find something soon. Fingers crossed for you.
I'm making the most of a lazy afternoon. Been to the gym this morning so have decluttered some calories
I've emptied my car boot from stuff that just seems to get left in there and will sort through that when I've finished my cup of tea.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.Official DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -

Evening all
It's been such a lovely day here - sunny, blue sky and white fluffy clouds, but I think we're in for a cold night due to lack of clouds.
Not exactly busy, but pottered and kept 'on the go' ..............
Progress for today -
53. Decluttered 2prs of bedroom curtains into the rubbish – not good enough for the CS.
54. 2prs of bedroom curtains (from old house) shortened – and offcuts dumped instead of going into fabric stash.
55. Fortnightly household rubbish collection due in morning – small bins emptied into rubbish bag and all out into bin. Bin now out in street awaiting pick-up.
56. All recycling out into Outdoor Recycling Wheelie Bin.
Keep up the good work everybody!
I'm doing an extra CS shift tomorrow so hoping to resist temptation - will also try to find some things to take in with me. I DO need to buy a new fish-slice due to breaking the last one yesterday evening - so that will have to be excused.
speak again later, Lilyplonk xx0
