  • I dont :p

Is it really? I dont enjoy unexpected people knocking on my door, but to call it intimidating is a bit rich. Annoying? Yes. Intimidating? No.

As far as were away, the OP isnt an elderly person, so dont think that really counts!

I presume that you know this, for a fact, the same way that you "know" I made reference to a no cold callers sign, and that you "know" I was somehow rude and antagonising to the husband, and you "know" that I'm lying about the whole thing anyway?

Yet another irrelevant point, anyway. As I've covered in a previous post, there's plenty of reasons why a person of any age, gender, etc. might not want strangers to appear on their doorstep. You're clearly just incapable of understanding anyone's position but your own, so for some unknown reason you feel the need to harp on about it when it isn't even the point of the thread. What are you hoping to achieve, exactly? Are you trying to pressure me into revealing personal information so you can pass judgement even more so than you already have? Are you just so desperate for a stranger to tell you that you're "right"? I've already said a number of times that I'm aware most people don't feel the way I do about this situation. What more do you want? Do you want me to wear some kind of sticker that says "Hi! This random judgmental idiot on the MSE Forum thinks I'm weird because I don't like strangers turning up on my doorstep after I've told them not to! Stop me and tell me how YOU feel about this totally irrelevant issue, despite having no knowledge as to my reasons for this, and no right to hear my life story!"

First of all I said "As far as were aware" - So thats not be stating something as fact.

Secondly, You would have seen a few days ago where I said none of us know the facts, except the OP and the male.

Thirdly, I couldnt care less who you are and certainly dont want your personal details. I dont want to and have no need to know your life story.

Fourthly - This is a discussion forum, im discussing. May not be to your liking, but I havent been rude unlike yourself calling people idiots.

Lastly, I think you need to calm down, the tone of your last post came across rather aggressive to me. Your true colours have truly shown.

So im presuming all those talking about the postage being specified in the listing - If you paid for 2nd class postage, but the seller sent it 1st class or special delivery - You would be complaining as thats not what you paid for?

The seller delivered it by hand, I would want postage returned

There is a troll in this thread (and it isn't me! :) )

What you actually said was "as far as were away". Perhaps you knew what you meant, but all I saw was word salad. In any case, whether your assumption is right or wrong is irrelevant, which is my point.

You are persistently furthering a line of questioning that is irrelevant with no apparent objective other than to provoke me. That's rude.

You are, through either a lack of reading comprehension or willful misunderstanding, making claims and assumptions about both me personally and the situation that are in direct opposition to what I have posted. That's rude.

You have flat-out called me a liar, implied that I've created multiple accounts, and refer to my "true colours" when I display frustration at your behaviour. That's rude.

I called one theoretical "person on the MSE Forum" an idiot, when posting a suggested scenario that was quite clearly hyperbole. That you infer from it that I meant you is your issue, not mine.

I'm going to put you on ignore now, because I've had quite enough of your rudeness, your attitude, and your complete inability to read and understand a clearly written, unambiguous post. Kindly go and provoke someone else.

Ok, so I got one letter wrong its all of a sudden word salad!

I never called you a liar, I said if you would like to read back that there are two sides to every story, and in the absence of the other side I would use for my own opinion the balance of probabilities.

I never once said that you had multiple MSE accounts, which makes me believe your getting some of what I said confused with another poster.

Last year i sold 4 large items together.

AFTER buying, the buyer said they must arrive sat morning between 12 and 1 or she would cancel the sale and leave appropiate feedback. I was worried about my TRS status - so drove 50 miles each way to deliver.

    I kept the £9.99 postage.

Like i said earlier - if i was in the area or passing - i would refund postage in full. But the above situation put me out.

I then sat back and worried about INR claim, or someone like the OP believing i invaded her space - but i actually got pos feedback - and rightly so.

In that sort of circumstance it would be reasonable for the seller to keep the postage charge.

It's easy for me to say as I haven't got TRS status to keep, but the above buyer made an unreasonable post sale demand and indulged in some feedback extortion. I would have canceled the sale and applied for any negative feedback to be removed.

OP - has the item turned up yet?

(Sorry if it has and I missed that post but now I am just downright curious to see if they actually send it)

You haven't missed it :) It actually turned up this morning via Royal Mail 2nd Class, so that's good. The item itself is in the expected condition and as described, so I'm happy on those counts.

I left neutral feedback, with high star ratings for description accuracy and low for communication, saying that the item is fine, but that the seller asked if her husband could hand-deliver, I said no, and was ignored. I think that's fair and, since it's a one-off, not a negative, and they're fairly new to eBay (20-something feedback score), it shouldn't have too detrimental an effect on their overall rating if they go on to provide good items and service to other buyers.
