Seller appears on doorstep...

I really can't believe this thread is still continuing but the OP obviously feels she has been wronged (and I do not agree that she has) and has asked how to respond to the seller. Therefore my advice would be to email the seller and tell her that you are disappointed that she did not act in accordance with your wishes and once the item has been received in the post you will leave appropriate feedback.
Now can we please move on.0 -

Not really. So "Powerful Rogues Removals" would be classed as an official service?0 -

Well technically yes, if it's a business set up to perform a specific service. They're doing that officially as a business; all legal, that's their job, employees I'd imagine...all the usual business stuff like that.
My point was, that regardless of which class by RM they were still all services offered by an actual business, not some random guy delivering one single parcel one time for his wife.
Although also based on the original point, RM is certainly an official postal service.0 -

It seems unlikely, but if he was then he should probably understand to be a courier you should give people the parcel and you should be polite. He's wouldn't have a job as a courier for long acting that way.0 -

...for acknowledging a thought and dismissing it as unlikely? I'd call that a radical interpretation of the text.powerful_Rogue wrote: »Im curious. Item starts at 99p with first class postage as the sending option. You win the item for £55. Seller then decides to send special delivery -You would honestly be annoyed?
I've already answered that question, despite it being irrelevant to the topic at hand. I'm not going to answer any more irrelevant questions, so don't bother asking.Cashback / Freebie Sites I Use:

Having someone turn up at your door unexpected is intimidating, how many times are the elderly advised not to open the door to unexpected callers?
The same principle appliesI'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -

I dont
Is it really? I dont enjoy unexpected people knocking on my door, but to call it intimidating is a bit rich. Annoying? Yes. Intimidating? No.
As far as were away, the OP isnt an elderly person, so dont think that really counts!0 -

I've only read the first 3 and last 2 pages of this thread, and would like to suggest something possibly controversial....
Don't leave any feedback . Once you have your item, just leave it at that.0 -
When I buy something, I'm not just looking at the item I'm buying, but also the delivery method.
If I'm happy with the whole package, then I'll buy.
Therefore if I've bought a widget, with delivery by Royal Mail, I would expect delivery by Royal Mail, because that's what I've paid for.
If the seller asked to hand deliver it, I would probably agree, if they refunded the amount I'd paid for delivery by Royal Mail.
I think it's a bit off for someone to hand deliver something, and not pass on to their customer the saving in postage that they have made.
I know people will say 'what about the sellers petrol and wear and tear on their car'. Well I don't care about that..... It's the seller that has asked to deliver, not me, so I can only assume they've asked because it suits to them to deliver it by hand
Incidentally, I probably wouldn't bother to leave feedback in this case ..... I'd just move on nowEarly retired - 18th December 2014
