  • No, I wouldn't be fine with that. That's why I display a "No Cold Callers" sign. That's me saying "no" before they ring the bell. If they ring the bell, I point out the sign. Very similar so far to what's happened with this guy. If they then start telling me that they've gone out of their way to be here, that they're going to report me to someone for not being okay with it, making agitated hand gestures, raising their voice - is that behaviour acceptable? Would you be so unable to understand my disappointment at that situation? Would you laugh at me if I was asking for suggestions on how to follow that up?

Ah, slowly but surly more of the story is evolving!

So he knocked on the door, you answered and then pointed out a "No cold callers" sign.

I bet he replied along the lines of "Im not though, ive brought you the item you've won on ebay"

I can then imagine you being quite rude and agitated.

You can imagine anything you like but the facts kind of spoil that for you. ;)

To be fair, there are no facts, it's one person and their story. Left for the rest to surmise.

Hmmm, the word of one person - I would hardly call them facts.

Again, every story = two sides.

The facts are those presented by the OP in their story, we have no others to go on.

Lots of surmising (or making up things to fit an agenda) going on by some posters.

Feel free to provide a link to the other side of this story.

Nope, In the absence of the other side of the story, I will go on the balance of probabilities.

I can imagine the OP was also rude for the sellers husband turning up, which in turn more then likely agitated the male.

But they are not facts, it is one version of a story.

I may be a pedant, but I am correct.
