Which marathon are you training for danothy?

There's a couple of small marathon events in the South Wales region that I will probably be entering too, as part of the training for this: http://www.brutalevents.co.uk/mmm.html

No just the Birmingham half, plan to do some 10k races next year though.

Those events do look brutal!! Good luck with those!!

Birmingham half done. Set myself a target of 1:45-1:50 and came in at just under 1:44, so well pleased! :D Although mile 11 included a hill, which was so tough...really struggled on that part.

Atmosphere was fantastic too, would recommend it to anyone!

Target for the next one is sub 1:40 :)

October update from me, 93.8 miles done, taking me to a total of 476.6 miles for the year. Just behind my September mileage of 95, but my second best month of the year.

Last week I also shaved another 14 seconds off my 5k Parkrun time, down to 20:18 now....closing in on a sub 20 time!!

I've hardly run since Bournemouth. I have the Plymouth 10k on Sunday and another race 3 weeks later.

I've finally broken 1,800km. There's no way I'll make the 2,500km target due to various injuries and letting the running go slack when I was finishing my thesis, but I'm still pretty pleased.

November update. 51.6 miles taking me to 528.1 miles for the year, which is more than double my original target!! :j

Already thinking about next years target mileage....I'm thinking 900, but not sure if that is a bit too much??

  • Just checking in with you all, I got 37 mile to squeeze in before Christmas and hoping we won't get any snow until the challenge is complete.

Seeing as it was Martin Lewis who inspired us all to sign up for this challenge when we looking for a way to pay back our over indulgence last Christmas, I was wondering if anyone knows how he is getting on with his challenge?

December update and the final one of the year. 59.3 miles run during the month, takes me to 587.4 miles for the year.

So December was actually my 4th best month of the year, despite the cold weather, which is usually when I lost motivation in 2013. I actually only didn't run at all for 2 weeks in 2014, otherwise I got at least 1 run done during the week.

To sum up 2014 for my running....epic. Completed my first half marathon and smashed my 5k time from 22 mins down to just over 20 mins.

2015 plans.....run 800 miles at least - target is 900. 2 half marathons and a few 10k races as well as Parkruns.

    How did everyone else do?
