PAD seems like such a good idea... I just don't know if I'd stick to it.
You've made so much progress on your debts since January! You should feel really proud!!!

    Hi Mrs S

Your PAD seems to be working out really well for you.

You will get rid of it by the end of the month- I have positive debt busting thoughts coming your way :)

You have reminded me I need to sort out Father's Day!

    Morning Diaryland!

Dearlouise I just sort of started doing it accidently because I am getting so fed up of the debt, I just want rid! I'm not sticking to it religiously, and unfortunately haven't made a payment since Friday.... ooops! I was out with my mum at the weekend so used my allowance for that. It is definately easier than you would think though, worth giving it a go to see how you get on.

Hi OF! How was your trip away? I must catch up with your diary later!! I really hope I can get rid of it by the end of the month, I will try my best, it seems like such a silly little amount compared to what it started off as - this one was a £10k loan!!

Fathers day is sorted thankfully, even for hubbys Dad, I wish he'd make an effort and at least buy the card himself, but alas no!

Yesterday I managed to list 20 items on ebay, and had 5 end so that will have to be a trip to the Post Office today at lunch. Once I have paid postage, I'll pay the ebay fee's (to stop them mounting up) and then the surplus will go to the debt.

Will update later today, so that I get back on my PAD after a cheeky weekend off.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

    Good Morning Diaryland,

So I made a payment yesterday but didn't get a chance to get on here. After my ebay fee's and postage I only had £4 left, so that now brings the balance to:

    £566

Not a massive payment, in fact my smallest payment to date on this one, but its still a payment and would have just been frittered away on rubbish otherwise.

I have a toy I have sold being collected today, so that will hopefully be todays payment and then I'll be back on track for PADing. I'm thinking even if I only manage to PAD Monday - Friday its better than not at all. I was having a wobble and thinking about giving up until I came on here yesterday and read your posts, so its given me the kick up the bum to keep going!!

Not a huge amount else to report, loving playing around with my spreadsheets and seeing this account coming down.

Will pop back after work once I have sold the toy to update.

    Have a good day!

Thank you dearlouise! I'm feeling like I'm running out of steam this month! Have had a few ebay items ending today, so will sort that out when I get home, and once I have posted them, will pay whats left off the loan.

Had calculated that our joint account would be short this month for some reason, but have just been and had another look and it seems like its going to be okay. Will have to keep an eye!

I am pretty sure I will be able to clear this loan this month, even if I make nothing extra from ebay or from selling sites, if I use the Family Allowance next week that will take it down to £430ish, and then I will just pay whats left of it off my wages.

It really has to go, and I WILL manage to blitz this!

PS Have just checked bank accounts and there was £11.14 in one of my card accounts, so have paid that off, making the total now:

    £555

    Getting there!!

  • Hi Diaryland,

Just popping on for a quick update. I've been and posted some of the ebay items (some payments are still pending!) and had £15 left after postage - woo hoo!! So have paid that off the loan, making the balance now:

    £540

Its going in the right direction, even though it feels like I'm treading water! Will need to chase up these other ebay payments and then see what I have left after posting them.

I've booked a day of work later in the week in the hope that I can get the house in order and see what else I can find to ebay. I really want to be rid of this debt, its bugging my happiness so much!

Will be back later in the week, I really need to catch up with everyone elses diaries.... do you have one dearlouise?

    Speak soon,

Some statistics to try and keep me focused today, as I haven't made a PAD yet (will do that later!)

    • Only 19 Paydays left until DEBT FREEDOM! (hopefully!)
    • Less than 2 Years to Debt Freedom, same as above but less than 2 years sounds even less!!
    • Only 5 Debt accounts left (this will be 4 after the Egg Loan)
    • Will only have 2 debt accounts by Year End, both 0%
These are the little facts that keep me going!! Will pop back later once I have been to the postoffice and update with whatever I have left after postage.

    Have a good day,

Yeah, my diary is here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4862205 I do need to update more often though.

Less than 2 years sounds amazing! I'm hoping mine can be over within 2 years. It's all credit cards to it's down to how much I pay.
  • Thanks DL, I will have a catch up on your diary later, I'm pretty sure I am subscribed actually!

So another day, another small PAD of £11 which was from a few ebay items, which now makes the balance of the egg loan:

    £529

I've paid off an extra £181.82 from the loan on top of the regular £20 per month payments this month... I'm making sure this is gone by the end of June.

There's been another house in our area come up for sale, 2 days ago and its gone already. I know we're not in a position to go for houses right now but it bugs me that we can't!

Due to this fact, I've called the dealership that I bought my car from to see if there's anything cheaper that I could go for. Well actually I know there will be because I'm coughing up a staggering £500 per month for my car... a luxury, as nice as it is, that I cannot afford at this time in my life. Cars are pretty disposable so I can get another flashy car when my finances are more accepting of it. Totally un-MSE of me, but I've realised the hard way, and its going back!

I'm looking to save around £200 per month, maybe even push it to £250 but we'll see. If I go for worst case scenario, I could be looking at a debt free date of 27th September, which is shaving three months off the original date I had.

Anyway, I'm rambling! Have a busy weekend ahead so will pop back on early in the week to update.

Have a good MSE weekend everyone!
