    Morning Debtbusters!

Have just paid £20 off the NR loan, which now takes the balance down to a nice:

    £695

Still a bit to go, but still getting there! I have some ebay things ending on Sunday, at the moment only 1 has a bidder but a few have watchers so hopefully there will be a last minute flurry of bids!

Appart from that, still waiting for cashback to payout, both of which are saying the end of August which is fine. If this NR loan in gone by then, it will just be thrown at the next thing!

Going to look at mobile phones later today, as I can upgrade my contract. The plan is to upgrade and sell the new handset and carry on with my current one. Not including any amounts or anything, because I don't know if 1, I will do it, and 2 how much I would get.

Anyway, happy Friday to you all,

Sooo my ebay items have ended and I have made £26.81 from them, woo hoo!! All have paid so am off to the post office tomorrow to get them sent. Have transferred £26 back to my bank account and have paid that off the NR loan, so the balance now stands at:

    £669

Would love to have this paid off by the end of the month, but I'm not sure how possible/realistic that is, with the kids being off and some things coming up over the next few weeks that I might need money for. Still, my target was to have all three of these small accounts paid off by the end of August and I'm still well on target for that, so will stick with it.

Have some more ebay items to list so will get them on soon hopefully. Haven't felt too great today, so going to go and chill a bit before bed and hope this headache I have decides to bog off!

Hope you have all had a good MSE weekend,

  • Hey MrsS!

Well done on eBay, I hope your buyers are nicer than mine (see my diary, grrr!). I am off to the post office tomorrow morning too - see you there!

The balance on your Northern Rock loan is looking brilliant, well done! You're brilliant at debt busting! I'm off to look into this money dashboard thing! And will check out WH bingo on a night OH is out as he does not approve!

I hope you are feeling better now after an early night.

    Morning Diary, and Morning Scottishspendaholic!

Ah thats not so great about the ebayers :( I do find ebay a hit or a miss, and sometimes I think, thats the last thing I sell on ebay... then I slowly get back into it again!

I'm quite focused on my debtbusting just now, because we have missed out on a few houses recently, and in reality we couldn't have gone for them anyway, the way our finances are. We want to have savings when we move so that we can buy nice furniture, decorate, do all the things we had to put on hold due to money when we moved into our current house. So thats my motivation - and boy is it working!!

Hope you've managed to find some good deals on quidco with the moneydashboard etc, will catch up on your diary at some point today.

Not a huge amount to report on the money front today as its payday at the end of the week, so things are a bit slow!

Off to the postoffice at lunchtime with my ebay goodies, and have another batch to list tonight, so hopefully they will sell too. Its all things the kids have outgrown or things that are too babyish, so they will just go to charity if they don't sell.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Hi Diaryland,

Only two sleeps til payday - whoop whoop! Should be able to check tomorrow online and see if/what we got the increase, if not it may be next month, but fingers crossed its this pay!

Have no bids on any of my 25 ebay items at the moment, but there's time for that to change. My other small update is that the remaining £50 cashback from a Sky upgrade at the end of last year has just tracked. Its saying that payment date is 25th September, so that will go towards something too. I have £93 pending in Quidco right now, with the first £30 due for payment on the 3rd of August so that will go to the NR loan for sure.

I had also noticed on this site, that there was a barclaycard credit card to help rebuild your score, so I have applied and been accepted. I know this could be dangerous, but it only has a £250 limit and I'll just use it for food shopping and then pay it off each month. Its 0% for 6 months, but I'd rather pay it off each month so it looks better.

This will be my first credit card since by bad financial behaviour days so I am feeling positive about it, and hope to use it in a positive way to help rebuild by score.

Gosh that sounds so grown up and mature! ;)

  • Good Morning Diary,

Quick update today, as its the day before payday there's not a HUGE amount of money available for repayments, but I have paid my last £4 off the NR Loan, taking the total down to:

    £665

It's going away slowly! Its been quite a quick month this month considering I have had double childcare to pay with both kids being off school, usually it drags, but maybe I have distracted myself with my repayments!

Will have a proper update over the weekend to see how things are looking. Need to get quite a few birthday presents for over August unfortunately, so will have to think carefully about those.

Anyway, happy days as the sun is shining, so off to enjoy this good weather - day off work today to use up time in lieu!! :j

Afternoon Diary. Updating to add (or take away!) the £7 I have from my little ebay sales this weekend, which now makes the balance:

    £658

Its coming down slowly, but I'm starting to fret about meeting my target of under £10k by 1st Jan. Coupled with the fact that I have just received 2 letters from old TSB accounts that I thought were settled that have £545.57 and £453.20 respectively still on them means its going to be even harder!

I should have investigated this closer, but I thought it had been lumped with an old TSB credit card that was cleared, but it obviously wasn't. I need to get my credit file in full so that I don't get any other nasty surprises. Thats almost £1,000 (£998.77) more added on to our debt total, which isn't great news.

Ah well, onwards and upwards. I'll have to reassess my totals and my targets and update.... I will be back later, hopefully armed with a new spreadsheet and a PLAN!
