  • Hi Diaryland, just a quick update with, unfortunately no payment :( I also haven't done by total for August, because I don't think its below the £16k mark, which I was hoping for.

I'm on holiday from work tomorrow for 2 weeks so I will take a break from fretting during these two weeks and get back on it when I'm back into the routine. I think with the kids being off too its knocked me off my rythym!

I'm sure I'll be doing the odd bit of ebaying while I'm off so will update with that if its worth mentioning!

Still massively determined to get this debt paid off and it at all possible below £10k by the end of the year. I'm sure we could do it, its just figuring out how.

Anyway, enough rambling, I've not gone MIA, I will be back after a short break!

So I’m back after my break, andam hoping that I’m full of enthusiasm to get our finances sorted out once andfor all. I’ve decided that I’m going todo monthly statistics as I’ve worked out how many paydays that I have untilvarious things happen, so on the first of each month I’ll post these. For August, I’ll just post below and thenmake it a separate post on the 1st of each month after that.

    Monthly Statistics for August 2014
No of Pay Day’s left of Childcare 10
    Total Debt Still Outstanding £16,053.58
No of Pay Day’s left til Debt Free Date 15
Maximum Pay Day’s left of PCP 18

I have a few issues that I needto clear up regarding a couple of old TSB Accounts that I thought had beenlumped into another account and paid off – apparently not. Its not a huge set back as less than £1000 intotal but I could have done without it!

The main smaller account I’mtackling just now is the NR loan, which has £658 left outstanding. I’ve sent them a payment plan for this lastamount, so will add it here so I can keep track and make sure I pay what I saidI would, when I would!

    [STRIKE]19th August - £25[/STRIKE] Paid!
    22nd August - £50
    3rd September - £25
    5th September - £20
    10th September - £25
    16th September - £50
    17th September - £80
    24th September - £50
    25th September £283

That will be goneby end of September, and the Student Loan that has dragged on only has about£75 left, which will come off my August pay. Getting those deductions stopped might be difficult because it runs withthe tax year, so it may keep going until April 2015 – then I’d get a rebate butI will have to call them up and see.

Okay, so thats probably a long enough post-holiday post!! I hope all your debt busting plans are going to plan, I'm now off to catch up with some of your diaries and see what you have been up to!

    Chat soon I hope!

  • Evening Debtbusters!

Just a little update to keep my motivation up more than anything. I see ebay are doing 100 free listings between today and Monday for the english bank holiday weekend (don't get it up here in sunny scotland!) so am going to go through my wardrobe and see what I can part with seeing as there's an ebay deal on.

Have posted my letter to Marlin about my payment plan for the NR loan and am sticking to my plan above to kick this things butt. Setting aside these two possible pending TSB accounts, that will be us onto just the two big credit cards at 0% - exciting to think we're down to 2 accounts!!

    Roll on debt freedom!

  • Woooooaahh more than 2 weeks without a diary entry?! This won't do!!

I must get myself back in gear and back on the debt busting! I've been very poor at debt busting these last couple of weeks so I really need to get back on it and try and clear some debts.

Will pop back on later, or maybe tomorrow with a plan. I need to massively tidy up my house, so maybe a car boot sale will come of that, or even a mass ebay listing.

Hope everyone is doing better than me!!

  • Well the weekend has come and gone, without a massive amount of anything being done really! Helped out my sister with a few things, always nice to be helpful, but not much debt busting or controling going on.

I signed up for a deal on ebay, which had 100 free listings - and then didn't list anything. Not ideal, really need to get my mo-jo back.

On a more positive note, I've send away 3 claims for PPI that I didn't think I could claim as they were OLD! A colleague of my hubbys had done one from a loan back in 2001 and got £3800 back, so I thought as my financial demise started around then, I might as well try!

Hubby had 1 loan from years ago too, so he is waiting for the claim form - I did mine online and posted it Friday, they said that the latest date for having it all done and dusted is 30th October, so thats not too far off.

Anyway, I'm rambling, I must come back on here every day - even just to read a diary, its good for my motivation and seems to make me more focused on debt freedom.

Hope you are all doing well...

Thought I would update these to try and keep me on track and it looks like the total amount of debt has gone up by about £100 :O

It could be a flaw in my spreadsheet but I will leave it as it is just now and have a play around with it later.

  • Hi Mrs S

I hope it is a problem with the spreadsheet and it isn't up for some reason!

I keep meaning to check out ppi but I though my loan from 2004 would be too old!

When you find some eBay mojo send some my way :D

  • Hi OF - welcome back!

I'm afraid I don't think it is a mistake on the spreadsheet, I've bene terrible with money this last month or so. Really need to get back on it, otherwise its going to take ages to get DF!

Definately check out your old loan. I had written mine off as well, so its definately worth it. It all helps - you never know it could make you debt free quicker than you ever imagined ;)

Will be forcing myself to do some ebaying today, so will hopefully get some sales.
