  • Its Monday.... haven't updated my dairy since the weekend, whoops. Not a lot to report, didn't spend much appart from £8 on gym shoes for the kids. Had an afternoon with friends and all the kids yesterday at one of their houses which was good.

Still feeling bleurgh about the finances. I am now thinking changing my car was a bad idea and am looking at cheaper ones. I could get something for waaaay less, but it wouldn't be such a nice car and hubby is telling me I will regret it. I'm coming to realise that cars can be replaced and changed at the drop of a hat - houses can't! Will see what happens on that front, I need to think carefully.

Need to go and change my ebay feedback to public so I can list things. I created a couple of listings on my phone at the weekend but it wouldn't let me list them until my feedback is public - didn't realise it wasn't!

Have a review at work today so am going to discuss working up the salary structure as I would like to do that anyway and get a bit more responsibilty. Have brought my own lunch to work today too, plus snacks, so I won't need to spend!

Hope everyone has an MSE day,

    Hello Diaryland :)

This is a happy diary update because my hubby has just been approved for the MBNA card which has 0% for a whopping 30 months on all balance and money transfers!!

We've got a settlement figure for the Sainsburys loan which is £7,500 and I have it down as being we owe around £9,100 so saving us approx £1,600 in interest - I am over the moon with this.

It means that all our debt is now at 0% so every penny we pay towards it, comes off the balance. I'll do a review later and update my spreadsheets and my signature, and my debt free date. After last week and feeling so down about money I'm back and fighting - especially at 0%, it would be rude not to!

    Happy MSE Days!

    Morning Diaryland,

Just a quick update even though there's not much to update! Waiting for hubbys account with MBNA to be opened, although maybe taking a few days longer with the long weekend.

As soon as the cash transfer is through we'll get the loan paid off and get the spreadsheets updated *rubs hands* I do love my spreadsheets!!!

Hope everyones debt busting is going well, and hopefully chat to some of you soon, I will have to have another diary catch up night this week.

Woo Hoo - the money transfer from the card is in!! So today we will get the loan paid off and will be officially in debt but all at 0% :j

This makes a very happy Mrs S - not happy to be in debt, but happy to be in 0% debt. It feels like another leap in the right direction.

I am desperate to do another recount and update my sig, but I will stick to updating it for the 1st of each month.

We'll definately get our mojo back and kick some debt-butt in June OF!! :T I'm thinking about doing a car boot sale, if I can find a free weekend in June but will have to juggle the calendar.

    Will pop back later,
    Happy MSE Days!

ooops! A whole week without an update, tut tut!

I am just patiently waiting for payday to come, which is on Friday. Once thats here I'll get some payments made and get the spreadsheets updated, so that I can see what our actual total is.

Trying to clear some space in the playroom (or maybe even just a corner of it) so I can start pulling some car boot sale stuff together. Hopefully I'll manage to fit one in at some point in June. This year is flying past though!

Anyway, back to work, so better get on. Hope everyone is doing okay.

Woo hoo, its payday!! Not made my minimum payments yet but will do it later. Am planning a massive clear out / tidy up weekend this weekend, so hopefully get loads of stuff to sell. My pay looks quite healthy this month which makes me suspicious, but anyway, it will all get thrown at the debts so will soon disappear!

I can't wait to do my total for 1st June because we have done the 0% transfer for the loan so thats now settled.

Have just spotted 2 new houses for sale in our area, and once again, am gutted we can't go for either! One is tipping the absolute top end of our bduget anyway, so it wouldn't be in the running but would be nice to be able to go and look!!

Will update again over the weekend once I have made all my payments and figured out our new total!

    Hi Mrs S!

Woohoo to payday. Mine feels ages away. As the last day of the month falls on a weekend ill get paid on the Monday which is the 2nd. My boss has this set up wrong as really it should mean we get paid before the weekend. I don't want to say anything as no one else comments so I don't want to look petty!

    I desperately need payday!!

I hope all is well with you. Looking forward to seeing your new totals. I need to update mine as some have changed!

    Hi OF

Well payday has come and gone, as has the money, ha! That must be rubbish having to wait til the very end of the month! If our payday (specific date) lands on a weekend, then we get it on the Friday, I think thats only fair. I'd ask if I were you!

So I have quickly done my sums in my excel spreadsheet and I'm not entirely happy with the balance. Its looking like just over £17k and I had hoped it would be nearer the £15k mark.

My account balances look like this:

    MBNA (0%) - £8,220
    Tesco (0%) - £7,240
    NR Loan (0%) - £739
    Egg Loan (0%) - £690.82
    Student Loan (0%) - £511.44

I have decided to give myself a challenge. I'm going to take one of the smaller account each month for the summer, and BLITZ it! So selling online, on ebay, fb pages, at work, change from shopping budget etc will all go to the accounts.

I think I will do it like this:

Egg Loan - Paid off by 30th June
NR Loan - Paid off by 31st July
Student Loan - Paid off by 31st August

The student loan is going to be a pain in the butt as they are taking it off my pay. It should be paid off within 6 months but I suspect they will continue to deduct from my salary for the duration of the tax year. I will keep an eye on it and see.

Anyway, will update my signature on the 1st of June, that gives me this week to see what else I can come up with moneywise!!

    Morning Debt Busters!

Well yesterday was a good day, got some payments made and sold three things on the FB selling pages, so that will be £14 to come off the Egg loan. I need to call today to find out how to make additional payments becuase at the moment its just a DD that comes off my bank. I tried calling yesterday but because it was a holiday in Englandshire I didn't talk to anyone.

I have three things listed on ebay which is apparently my maximum for the month so I have applied to increase it. They will send a letter out with a verification code so once I have that I will be able to hopefully sell more on ebay.

My childminder wsa off sick on Friday so the money from Fridays childcare I will transfer out of our joint account and pay off the egg loan too.

I put a bit extra in the car account each month as well to make sure everything is covered, so I will take a look at that too to see if I can transfer that back to pay off the loan.

Have brought my own lunch to work today so don't need to spend on lunch which is always helpful. Also needed to buy some medication yesterday but I went to boots and used my points on my card - very MSE!

Anyway, shall go for now as I am at work. Will pop back tomorrow or later on at some point to update.
