My baby is a nutter :o
OH bought her home a peppa pig jumperfrom sainsburys and she loves it. Runs around with it, laughing and saying 'I love it, peppa pig!' But she won't even entertain wearing it! She flat out refuses to put it on.

Hope everyone is all ok, hopefully after half term I'll be able to post more.

    Hello ladies,

Can you recommend a cheap buggy that is relatively lightweight, easy to fold, some sort of sunshade and suitable for going abroad?

We have the fab Uppababy Vista for a proper pram/buggy but as we are going away I wanted something cheap and cheerful but something I'm not going to want to throw into a hedge due to inadequecy. I was going to buy the £12.50 Red Kite which was on HUKD a few weeks back but then read bad reviews about it which got me thinking about how many things I need to consider when buying a cheap and cheerful buggy.

    I think the problem is I want a £200 buggy for £35 :D

However, if anyone can recommend any good buggys suitable for going abroad I would be eternally grateful :D thank you in advance :D

I love our Maclaren Quest and have travelled abroad with it a number of times, but you won't find one for £35 unless it's second hand.... I have a Sunshine Kids buggy bag which protects it and for our old buggy I had a Shade a Babe sunshade, which was a lifesaver at nap time. Could you buy something like that for your Vista and use that? If you're flying you won't need to carry your buggy much anyway?

I hope someone else comes along with some better advice! :o

We went through several weeks of LO refusing to go to bed unless she was clutching her toothbrush. But would she let me brush her teeth with it? Hell no! :o

Hi all, my first post on this thread! Baby is two and a half weeks old, feeding well, starting to sleep ok and making us very happy (and tired!)

A question for mums who are breastfeeding... Have been using disposable breast pads and getting on ok with them during the day but starting to find them scratchy/ uncomfortable at night. Can anyone recommend washable breast pads that they have found good?

We bought a cheap hauck buggy and it is awful! Definitely get a better one. I have a babystyle oyster for the walking we do but I wanted the umbrella because it was smaller for folding on buses but the hauck one just isn't fit for purpose.

I'm off to sainsburys today :j watch them have nothing in the right sizes!

Personally all the cheap buggies I have bought have been useless.

Do you not think you would have use for a lightweight buggy at home e.g. nipping to the shops in the car? So you could justify spending extra on a decent lightweight buggy like this one (I have its predecessor and it's fab):

If not you could look at buying a good one second hand?
  • We bought a mothercare nano one when A was teeny to take abroad, as it was suitable from birth and we didnt wanna take the oyster. Was about £70 when we bought it and I used the sunshade nutella mentioned.
Personally I only used it for 2weeks, so cant really give a full review but MIL usesit every week when she has him and has never mentioned a problem.

Fran-o, I use the boots reusable ones that have a waterproof backing, they are £6 ish for three pairs. I bought some little lamb bamboo ones off eBay which feel nicer but they get a lot more leaky and scrunched up so they can give you weird (and wet) looking boobs after feeding out and about.

We had a cheap M&P stroller, I used it twice and never again. It was awful. We haven't used a pram since 18 months though, at all so I don't know if buying a more expensive stroller would be costly if your baby ends up like ours... Sorry nothing more constructive to add :o the sola that Amus suggested is fab though.

As for us, we had our first cinema trip today :j it was very successful, he sat for the whole 2h. Very expensive though so will defo keep an eye out for cheap Saturday showings. The kids AM showing today was 3D so not suitable really but if you can get it only £1.75 :)
