Lazywife, going to bed before 9pm is a very, very sensible thing to do when you have a small child! I'm off to bed in five minutes :D

Re. moving home - today's been frustrating, as we're soooo close to exchange and our vendors' solicitor only needs to do *one* thing and it's taking him forever! Today he's been chased by our solicitors, the estate agent and our vendors, so here's hoping he kicks into action. Hoping to exchange on Monday and move on 19th March :)

Hi all, baby now just over 3 weeks old. Had a few days of almost hourly feeding which I think must be a growth spurt , back to a manageable pattern today. As for me, got sciatica but seen a chiropractor today who was helpful. Have found breast feeding really up and down (problems with blisters/ soreness on both sides, engorgement) but still going with occasional top ups on formula. Bought some little lamb bamboo breast pads which I hope will be more comfy by night than the disposable pads. Am feeling more sane, more able to cope, and baby has been sleeping better too which helps! Having more visitors too (in moderation) has helped, early days were too intense to have friends over but now it brightens up the day to have a quick visit! Especially as sciatica is stopping me getting out and about.

    Best wishes all :)

This was us for about a month! Hope they get it sorted quickly.

I've had a hectic week so not got on here - apart from the unpacking and cleaning that needs doing I've had a mountain of work to do. And G has decided that 5am is a good time to wake up and demand to get up for the day. Zzzzzz.

Thanks Katie :) I feel for you - my LO wakes up between 4.30 and 5 every day and has done for at least a year. It's exhausting, although I guess it's in her genes - that'll teach me for marrying a man who thinks it's perfectly normal to start the day at 5am!

And I thought I had it rough - he's only been doing it a couple of days! I'm clutching at straws that the clocks changing might help - after all, before they went back in the Autumn he was sleeping til 7 every morning. I can only hope :o

Feeling a bit sheepish, the exercises from the chiropractor involved lying on my back lifting my knee up towards my chin. If I had thought about it I would have known that it wasn't a suitable movement for someone who had stitches three weeks ago. Don't think I've done any real damage but I am proper sore today (like I was the week after birth). To be honest the sciatica has stopped me being active so this doesn't make any difference to plans, just a bit of extra unwanted discomfort :(

Amus my LO is the same suddenly, about 4.5 months now. Before she used to prefer being in her bouncy chair to being cuddled but now if I so much as nip out to the loo or stand in a different park of the room she goes mad!

Fran o hope your sciatica is relieved soon, I had that at the end of pregnancy and it was soooo uncomfortable!

Went to see a nursery today and bought some weaning stuff, feeling sad that our little girly is growing up so fast :(

  • Bangton we have decided to join in the sleep regression phase..!
Just out of interest... when yours started, was it also accompanied by slightly more sleep in the daytime..?

We used to get some 10min naps in the daytime, if we were lucky... he used to go hours and hours and hours just without napping at all. Cue on very overtired and angry evening baby, but generally slept well through the night (only time he was sleeping!)
He's then taken to day time naps, specifically between 1-4pm... 3hour stint and he's flat out. Then toys with some more catnaps.... then is AWFUL during the night. Up practically hourly, will not settle, is not happy... isn't himself.

I'm trying to limit the evening naps but once he starts to get cranky and I know it is because his tired a bit of me thinks I just need to let him have his awful nights and that we'll soon get over it (you get over it, right?!)

Just a bit worried as in May he's going to pre-school full time (will be 6 months) and I'll be back at work. Feels too soon and too young but financially it has to happen. Can't think about doing that on this little sleep right now..!
