Oh yes savoury rice is a good one, I fry mine rather than boil, but same difference really, we put peppers, peas, and sometimes shredded chicken through it. I add some curry powder to the stock too. Om nom nom. I know what we're having today now :D

Hope the plastering goes well Sunshine xx

  • What's the plan for today? We are off to the sealife centre which I'm quite excited about as I think Reu will be really fascinated by it all :)
  • congratulations katiechoc!

plan for today is going for our first family trip to the park!

does anyone have any experience buying baby clothes off ebay? I'm starting to buy a few bits but I get worried about how worn they will be.

I've never bought any yet but I've sold a few bundles of my boys old clothes. Personally, I never sold anything that wasn't in good condition, so nothing bobbled, faded, stained, torn etc.

Having said that I've seen the state of some of the stuff some people are trying to get rid of on my local Facebook selling page so can see why you would be cautious!!!

I fancy the park today too but OH is sooooo lethargic. So the hungry milk seems to have worked somewhat. Lo is going to bed at 6.45 as he's shattered and getting up at 5!!! But he's not ready to be up and is tired within an hour. It seems like he's swapped his 3am mess around for 5am now! ! It is better though. I know this is weird but I woke up this morning feeling very daunted at being a mum. I'm besotted with him and he's so lovely I guess I'm scared of anything happening to him OR letting him down. Yesterday I left him on his changing mat on our rug on living room floor alone while I sterilised some bottles in kitchen. I heard him cry so I peeped my head round (it was a whiney sort of cry) and he was off the changing mat, off the rug and on the wooden floor but above the changing mat and instead of facing down he was horizontal. I can't understand how he got there. He's 19 weeks so not crawling and while he has rolled it's usually from his tummy to back and he's succeeded maybe twice. He was on his back as I don't leave him alone on tummy and the position he'd landed in was still on his back. I feel bad now though as I worry he's hit his head on the floor even though his crying was more whiney. I thought I was doing right leaving him on floor and there was nothing unsafe around him just his playmat but there is a armchair and fireplace close to where he was. Looking at how he landed he'd have had to have spun himself round horizontally and then rolled twice. Bamboozled and feeling a bit bad at leaving him now. Always leave him on the floor on the mat in middle of rug if i have to leave room so he can't roll off anything but when my back is turned he's doing acrobatics now!

DD is a similar age to your LO and she can't consistently roll over yet either. It's amazing how much she seems to be able to 'move about' with just excessive wriggling!
  • Bangton mine's the same age as yours and can wriggle himself in a full circle at times!
  • Can any ladies recommend good toys for a one year, it's lo birthday a month today. He has a walker and has all stacking cups, shape sorter etc anything else that is a hit with your Los?

We like amazing baby books, dolls buggy (my friends little boy always makes a beeline for ours!) Pull along cart thingy... blocks are always good too.

we got a bounce and spin zebra very cheaply from ebay, so look there.
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o
