Congrats katie
So lo has had 4 teas with us this week, all eating our food and not jarsalso been having snacks as well, rice cakes going down a treat and banana porridge for breakfast also being loved. Seems to be the only fruit he really likes on it's own.
Another foody question, so he's having our cooked teas with us now but I've still been using jars for dinner because I don't tend to cook dinner with it just being for me. What sort of things can I give him that doesn't involve lots of cooking? He's 11 months old, not totally to grips with finger food or big chunks
Thanks for your help ladiesNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Congrats on finally a move date katie.. yey!
MrsH, T likes soup. I tend to boil up a country soup mix (lentils, barley, split peas, nothing big for him to deal with) with finely chopped carrots, celery, onions, and a bit of finely chopped bacon and some stock. It's more like a porridgy type texture. Makes a large pot and then I just give him that with some bread (optional) as a hot tea without much cooking.

Hello everyone. Wanted to pop on to say im still around just very busy. I have my parents & sister over from Australia. They arrived on the 2nd and go back on the 28th.
Its very hetic at the moment and i just really wished they lived here so i could see them every now/again as its a lot entertaining them everyday with Scarlett to look after as well.
My hubby hasn't got any holidays due to not being in his job long so at times im finding it very stressful going out every day for majority of the day as then once home its washing and cleaning to prepare for the next day.
That sounds so bad as i love them all and haven't seen them since 2011 but even i didn't expect it to be this stressful. I was all set for a lovely relaxing time at center parcs aqua sana with my mum & sister as it was my xmas pressie from my inlaws and my bday pressie from hubby and parents were some treatments, that failed massively when i went to book treatments to find out you need to book way in advance.
So had a proper melt down of crying and not wanting to go as had been looking forward to my 1st ever facial and neck, shoulders and back massage since xmas. All we did was swim pretty much as my mum and sister dont like saunas etc.
But back to baby stuff I've found a childminder. Shes fantastic, visited today and made my mind up that i dont need to keep looking. Have put a letter into work asking for 3 days a week but got an acknowledgement letter today saying it will be taken to the next governors meeting so fingers crossed. Only thing is the childminder is full on Fridays so really need that day off so if work cant give me that will need to work something else out just for Fridays.
Hope everyone is well.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Gilly and katie.. Thank you for your posts. In a strange way it being common to still wake for feeds is exactly what I want to hear as it's hard when you think you'll get to 3 months and it will all improve (that's what I was told anyways! ) and then at 19 weeks your still up all night! I bought annabel karmals book a few weeks ago and saw that weaning doesn't fix night wakings but I am looking forward to getting started. We've always had issues with finding the right milk, rashes, colic, rejecting feeds etc etc that I'm glad I'm on the way to other things even though he will be supping it for some time feeding hasnt been all that glorious upto now. Tbh I don't know if it's a nervy looking forward to it( and thus just wanting to get on with it) or a proper looking forward to it if that makes any sense!0

Aw cd, sorry your centre parcs spa didn't work out how you wanted, but at least you managed to cut off a bit. I know how you feel when your family come and visit. They think they're helping, but a part of you just wants to sit around all day, sometimes not even dressed, eat soup for lunch, rest when LO does and then dash about at 5pm ready for OH to get home, not be popping out for nice days out etc. Then you'll miss them when they're back home! Well done on finding the childminder you're happy with, fingers crossed for work.
Bangton, T wakes most nights (4-5 out of 7 in a week) for a quick feed. He stirs other times and settles himself back to sleep, but if he's awake enough to cry out until I go in, he'll always take a full feed (bf). He's 9.5 months now and eats alot of food and has 4 feeds a day, I think he's thirsty, and don't think early weaning would have made much difference (we did blw at 6 months)

For lunch I tend to either use something from freezer iv prepped or I chuck some garlic, onions, peppers, into a pot with a tin of chopped tomatoes and herbs and cook pasta and give him that, usually I keep pasta sauce I've made in the freezer, it defrosts so quickly in micro and pasta is made quickly, serve with garlic bread slices. (I buy these as he only has one at a time) you could use kiddy pasta if spoon feeding
Or what about pitta pizza, get a pitta bread, put some tom pur!e on, cheese and grill it until cheese has melted, cut into strips and serve.
Scrambled egg and beans, sandwiches? The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Amus I'm exclusively pumping now and find I need to express for at least 15 min per session to get a decent amount. My hv told me to try to pump til the 2nd letdown to help improve my supply and it seems to have worked. I don't know exactly how much I get per day and LO's appetite varies anyway but she's pretty much on all ebm now with a formula top up once or twice a week. Hth?0

Congrats Katie!!!! Soooo exciting, Id reccomend starting packing early, I didnt realise how much junk we had!!
A is only with me for lunch 4 days as on nursery days he has it there. He loves crispbreads or crackers with cheese on or cream cheese, sometimes we do little ploughmans with cherry toms, half a bread roll, cubed cheese, cucumber and a bit of hommus, he likes pitta pizzas too, sometimes a bit of savoury rice so just boiled rice with some peas, sweetcorn, squah in, boiled egg sliced on toast, french toast....
We have got the plasterers here at the mo doing upstairs so its mega noisy, think we may take A out for the morning.
