Well done you, Ive been swimming but really need to step up the healthy eating. Might have a look at slimming world although Ive never understood how it actually works haha!

I don't go to class no time away from A to actually go but it's pretty simple once you get your head around it. I find it really effective :) but it's not a diet it's a life style change and I have problems once I've lost the weight maintaining it :o

I don't know how u can manage SW with a LO - I'm struggling big time! All I want is sugar - especially because I can't have too much caffeine!

It's also hard when you go to coffee shops & visiting family who want to cook for you but won't or don't know how to do SW friendly foods!

Is it easier when they start weaning? (Want to do blw)

Nessie, my LO eats SW meals with me - they're very family - friendly :) I sometimes just add a bit of cheese for her if she hasn't had enough calcium. I'm still knackered though and all I want is junk food, so that's an uphill battle at the moment... I spent more time in cafes whilst on maternity leave though, so at least I'm now less exposed to cake on a regular basis!

Plan, plan, plan, most SW meals are completely friendly especially for BLW. I would always use extra lean meats anyway, loads of veg and with pasta being free. I think SW works because all meals are cook from scratch which is what you'd be doing for BLW anyway so it works well.

I sort of roughly know the night before what I'm doing for the next day, sometimes I do him slightly different things too. If you're a snacked just make sure you have loads of superfree or free stuff in, fruit, yogurts, maybe make SW quiche etc just to nibble on. Although he is 2 now so maybe slightly easier.

I agree with that, lots of cheese added on to pasta etc or il give cheesy garlic bread on the side, add oil to his rather than fry light, butter to his potatoes etc.

New house is stressful nutella but nice to be paying our own mortgage not somebody else's! OH and I have next week off work and Reu will still be going to nursery, so we can tackle the decorating and some DIY.

Another sw-er here - I agree with above, very family friendly, and easy to just portion off a bit for LO and chuck a few extra cals/fat in.

Think we are having a growth spurt here, today he ate...a banana, 250g blueberries, 2 satsumas, a slice of OH's pizza which was an 18 inch one so huge slice and he ate the whole thing! 30g of vanilla fudge, two slices of pork, 2 portions of dinner (each portion was 6 heaped tbsp mashed potato, with chicken casserole - chicken, carrot, leek, onion), THEN cried when OH and SS had fajitas so he then had chicken, celery, cheese, lettuce, salsa, 3/4 of a tortilla.....and chips!!!! Over the next few days he will get very fat in the face then all of a sudden his t shirts wont meet his trousers, and his ankles will be on show :D looking forward to cracking out the next size clothes as we have a couple of bits of frugi, mmmmm!!!

I am massively loving talking.....weve just reached the point where he is starting to put 2 words together, it is incredibly cute!!! I think I like the things he can't say properly the best though - he can't say satsuma so he asks for a "roll roll" while rubbing his hands together.....because he knows I roll it between my hands (to loose the skin for peeling). Love it!!! A big favourite at the mo is "oh no!" and he likes to drop things, hide things, tip things upside down etc, just so that he can point at it and say "mum! Ohhhh no!"
  • Hi all. Hope everyone is well. I have read back but cant remember much. Seems like so long ago that I had time to come on and read regularly!

To the person who was asking about blw nibbles (sorry, cant remember who), I used to give the girls porridge fingers for breakfast and they still cant get enough of them now at 15 months. Just make up porridge as normal but make it extra thick. Spread it on a plate and microwave for a minute or 2 and cut into fingers. Can be a bit sticky but if you leave them to dry a bit on a cake rack or something they will be easier to hold.

Also once your LO gets older I definitely recommend these banana fingers http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/banana-baby-food.html#fruitybars

The girls are getting on so well with eating. The will try anything and everything and usually wolf it down!

Nutella I had to laugh at Fareful. The girls climb on anything they can and before I can say anything they say Get Down. In fact they usually say it before even climbing up!

TM Amelias favourite at the moment is Oh No too. Luckily she says it for no reason half the time!

My personal favourite is them shouting Jenna when they first wake up. She's our old dog and the girls absolutely love her

Good luck for everyone getting a good nights sleep x

    I've been Money Tipped!
Turtle moose, Cake, I'm really looking forward to the starting to talk bit. T can say mumumum on command, which is very cute but sadly it's for food (yum yum) not mummy!
To fill you in guys, I'm feeling soooo much better now. Back to feeding 4x per day with a night feed 70% of the time. He'd sort of started to drop his afternoon feed, so had started to just give him a snack instead, but I think it was making him grumpy and hungry for milk then stressing me more. I'm borrowing my friends breast pump, going to start expressing some so he can get used to a feed in a cup then I'll start to introduce cows milk as the afternoon feed in the next month or so. I also know now to expect a bit of a hormonal low as I drop the feeds again, but I'll be prepared now.

Here we get 'oh dear!' and 'uh-oh!'. And yes, I'm convinced she drops things on purpose sometimes just to have a reason to say it :D:o

Lazywife, so glad you're feeling better :)

LO and I made smoothies for breakfast - her 'job' was to put the fruit into the blender, and only one slice of kiwi and one piece of strawberry found their way into her mouth instead of going into the blender! She loved it :D

She's now having a nap - she woke up at 4am this morning and wouldn't settle again; she's teething and a bit miserable at the moment :( I might go and have a nap myself once our lunch (macaroni and broccoli cheese) is ready to come out of the oven.

Hope everyone has a good day x

How is it T knows that Friday night is DH's shift? He slept for five hours then but last night back to the usual 3-4 and I could really do with the sleep lol

He's also upped his feeds to 5oz, properly piling on the weight, we're going to have to buy bigger bottles :)
He's also deigned to take a dummy a couple of times but not always so hard to predict lol
Been really worried that he'd get my tonsilitis but he seems impervious lol

Oh and its not something cute he's said but my 18 month old niece apparently keeps shouting 'nonas. nonas hug' and giggling when her mum asks if she wants to come see us x
