Boo! How you doing ladies? Not even gonna attempt to catch up. I've missed too much XD big hello to the newbies and hope you're all having a good time with your squishes.

I think Dewi has turned into Velcro. If he's not clinging to me like a limpet, he's behind me like a slow moving shadow. We go to play group on a Friday. I went to collect my cuppa and he was crawling along behind. As soon as I went behind the door and out of sight he just sat down and cried. It's like there's a perimeter and I need to be within it or he just goes barmy. While I do love kisses and cuddles I get, I do wish he had some more independence.

    Hope everyone else is well?

Hope those mummies having bad nights had a better one last night. I didn't! 3 hungry wakings again. OH got up for one of them (he offered). I was livid with him. He fed lo a 5oz bottle which he drained and then put him in cot wide awake and babbling basically because he couldn't be bothered. So I ended up getting up and feeding lo another 2-3oz and he went back down in no time. All OH could say is that he thought we were putting him down awake to drop off. Yeah...drowsy and with a full tummy not hungry and babbling! And in the night I don't bother with drowsy but awake anyway don't know if I should be tbh I'm not bothered...lo knows when he's being put down and always stirs for a sec so that's good enough for me. OH is normally amazing and I feel bad moaning really but he's been a grump all week and then offers to get lo to be a martyr when I'd prefer he didn't if he's knackered and does half a job!!

Gilly, I was thinking of you this morning - is it possible that the night time wake-ups are caused by overtiredness? At my LO's nursery, the two-year-olds still have a nap during the day - is this an option or does he refuse? Just a thought - whenever my LO's overtired, we get a lot of night time faffing and wake-ups; like she wants to play when we know that what she really needs to do is sleep... :o Hope your nights get better x

I did think of this myself but I don't think so. He will not nap in the day at all now, it can take us 2 hours or so to get him down. Plus if he has a nap it's a 10pm bedtime which isn't really ideal :o

This sounds really cheeky and I don't mean it to, but I have 2 friends with toddlers who have asked there nursery repeatedly not to let them nap because it's interfering with bedtime, I.e they're up for hours of an eve, and the nursery will not comply, and they both get the impression it's because it's easier for the nursery for them to nap.

But I do think part of what you're saying could be true, as now he doesn't nap, there's a fine line with bedtime and if we get him into bed early enough it's mostly ok. Example bed time was 6.30 last night and he woke up at 8.40 this morning :j or maybe he was just tired out from his shenanigans the previous night :o

During the day though he is generally ok, the first few days of no naps he was rather vile around 3pm but he's adjusted brilliantly though. Boy do I miss nap time though :o

    I've been Money Tipped!
Glad last night was better Gilly, T seems to have one night he sleeps through, then wakes for a feed the next night. Seems to alternate!
Bangton, I hope your OH realises the error of his ways and you're not too tired today.

  • Hello ladies

Hi turtle! Hope you are well?x

Nutella, thats adorable! Aiden loves to stand on his toy box too!

I notice if Aiden has longer than an hour nap he will need a later bedtime. His nursery are good though and wake him after an hour if he isnt awake, am sure if I asked for no nap they would comply as they go into a diff room to nap and any non nappers or early wakers go back into the other room with the other staff. Your friends should perhaps speak to the manager Gilly, they should respect thier wishes really, its what they pay for!

My little scamp is back on antibiotics as he is chesty again :( got a new inhaler with a bigger mask too. Apparently the old one was too small.

Aiden went through this too, it does pass. Although Aiden has always been cuddly and even now he is walking and talking he still loves snuggling up with me and having a cuddle :o he isnt in the velcro stage now though! X

They have, so now nursery say 'they just fell asleep' or 'we couldnt wake him/her' In general I do think they have a good nursery just this one sticking point. I think its 50/50 generally some kids still need a nap others dont. I wasnt expecting A to give up his naps as soon because he loved them :(

Hope your A feels better soon, poor boy xx

Ahh I see. I dont think we will be far behind tbh, at home with me sometimes be doesnt nap. I think at nursery its more due to the routine and he is generally more worn out and his little mates nap so he does, but with me I think he could take it or leave it.
New fave snack here for A, malt loaf!x

I suppose that could be it, maybe my friends kids want to nap at nursery because there friends are doing it :o and the nursery feel they're doing the right thing. Not to cause upset. Iykwim.

Yep soreen is a massive hit here, I sometimes make my own fruit bread and he devours that too but haven't done it in a few weeks, been so hectic here :o

I've been sticking to slimming world well, so no fruit loaf for me :(
