My lo isn't in my room and hasn't been since 3 months when he started to outgrow moses basket. (Can't fit cot in our bedroom either). I was anxious so oh went out and got an angelcare monitor. Now I can relax a little bit and tbh until he hit sleep regression he actually slept better in his own room to start with. My oh has rinitus which means he's always sniffling and blowing his nose which used to make lo stir!!!

Oh kerri just to add. I definitely would wait til you see a routine forming. We tried to shoehorn lo into one at 5 weeks and it didn't work. He was much crankier too. Tbh we've had several routines in the last 4 months as lo changes his mind all the time!! The only thing I'd say was really worth doing was a bedtime routine ..so a bath, change, feed or whatever around the time baby naturally goes to bed for longest period. That said we were told to do that from 6 weeks as it doesn't really work before. And defo don't worry about spoiling such a new baby. Just do what she needs. If I could go back id have worried less about wanting a routine as slowly slowly it gets where you see a pattern emerge anyway

Sorry for all the posts. Forgot to ask.. How do you all dress los for bed and how warm is the room? We've followed grobag guidelines on their website and keep the room 16-20 degrees. Usually 17 as heating goes on and off intermittently. He wears a long sleeve vest, sleepsuit, And 2.5 tog grobag but this morning he felt really really cool. I was freezing in bed myself even though heating comes on every two hours. In my bid to solve his waking early (which I know could be regression so I won't be too disheartened) I'm thinking he could be dressed warmer. I bought a couple of fleece sleepsuits for after baby massage and wondering if anyone uses these rather than gro bags as I believe they can be worn over normal sleepsuits like.a grobag would. Just wondered if they might be warmer

    I've been Money Tipped!
We have the heating on thermostat at about 19 degrees overnight now, used to be about 17, but LO felt cool in the the morning and I used to get cold getting up in the night to see to him. He has a short sleeved vest, long sleeved sleepsuit and 2.5tog grobag. I would personally feel that the fleece sleepsuit would get too warm, but go with what you feel.x

We are roughly 18 degrees overnight. LO has a short baby gro, a long sleep suit and a sleeping bag. He's just right.

At 3 months we've outgrown the moses basket and are in the cotbed...

It wouldn't fit in our room... but we fit in his room... (it was the spare room and we never got rid of the bed in there)...

We're about the same sleepwise - I set the thermostat for 20 but it's always cooler in the bedroom so I'd say between 17 - 19, she then wears a short sleeved vest, long sleeved sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. I tend to put her in the sleepsuits that have built-in fold over sleeve mitts as her hands are FREEZING at night (I know babies hands are generally cool, but this is silly!) TBH I don't know that I would be comfortable putting her in fleece at night, but then I'm a massive fusspot and your LO is a fair bit older than Nara so it'd probably be fine.

I'm another who doesn't really believe in a 'routine' as such for young babies, but I keep being told I'm creating a rod for my own back, etc, etc. DH seems to be listening to the received wisdom so wanted to try to establish more of a routine now Nara is 6 weeks. We've compromised on working with her a bit more (she's still very nocturnal and likes to feed a lot in the late evening / through the night normally), so last night we got her bathed after her 9:30pm feed, gave her a little massage afterwards, changed her nappy and got her into a sleepsuit and sleeping bag. We then took her through to the darkened bedroom and I fed her whilst DH read a story - last night was Each Peach Pear Plum, which may have been just a little advanced :rotfl: All in all she was fed to sleep around midnight and then didn't wake again until feeds at 4am and 7:30am - bliss! Tried to get a couple more hours after the 7:30 feed but our neighbours decided to start DIY!

We'll try the same again tonight, but will try not to get too discouraged if it doesn't quite go to plan. Hopefully things are settling down a bit after a horrendous few days of what I suspect was growth spurt fussiness. We have a busy day tomorrow with the HV in the morning and then an afternoon meet-up with the NCT ladies and babies, before our OHs go out to 'wet the babies' heads' together... I suspect there could be multiple partners with sore heads / in trouble on Saturday morning :rotfl:

I'm hoping she goes down for a couple of hours this evening as I really need to get some tidying done before the HV comes around - this place is looking decidedly messy!

There were a few dad's in trouble after our nct lot went out on Friday. .. Why their wife's set a curfew I've no idea.

No routine today and we're back to awake at 7ish, then 9 (we fuss in the morning) then 11. Big sleep 12:30 - 2:30, rudely awoken as I needed to go out. Feed at 3 then wide awake and lots of smiles whilst I had coffee with nct girls. Sleepy at 4ish and fell asleep on my chest. Wye awake the whole walk home in the pushchair even though she went down zonked. Feed at 5:30 and now fast asleep on my chest. She'll probably wake up just as o eat my dinner.

I was saying to my husband yesterday I wonder if we can treat her like a bonsai tree and keep her in small clothes to mean she stays mini forever, I just can't imagine her being big!!:o

I know what you mean, and they grow so fast! :o When my LO was a few days old, Mothercare got my online order wrong, and instead of sleepsuits size 0-3 months I received a two-pack of tights size 3-4 years (I've no idea why!). I called them to complain, and refused to go to the post office to return the tights (I'd just had a c section and could barely move!), so they let me keep them and sent me the sleepsuits I'd ordered. At the time I couldn't imagine my LO ever being big enough for those tights - they looked huuuuuge next to my tiny little girl. They now fit her perfectly :o

I don't miss newborn-ness one bit though; it's so much fun being with her at the moment. Tonight in the bath, she cleaned her rubber duck with her sponge, then brushed its 'hair' (the top of its head), wrapped a flannel around its neck and said 'scarf!', then folded the flannel into a lump, put it on the duck's head and said 'hat!' :D
