We had a better night last night and I feel much better today :D I spoke to the breast feeding advisor and she reassured me it was perfectly normal for a four week old to feed like that on occasion. We have given the occasional bottle when I have been exhausted but I am determined to bf so not keen to do it often.

Today we went for a long walk which was lovely and got a nice book to share together. I will need to go to some baby groups as I realised I am missing the chat and laughs from work so need to meet some new people.

Hello!! Charlie has moved downstairs too, and the difference is amazing! He's talking (jabbering) so much more, though i still need nod and smile a lot, or get him to show me what he's trying to say bless. We went through a tough stage a month or so back when there was lots of tantrums, but as he's starting to communicate more, he's getting less frustrated. I'm also teaching him that instead of shouting and screaming, to just ask for help. So every now and then i can hear him getting wound up, then "help!" lol

    So cute!

What are people's opinions on disciplining other kiddos, at playgroups etc? I've always avoided it and removed G from it, even when the other child has been clearly in the wrong ie snatching, pushing. Today a girl, maybe 3yo, spent the whole play group chasing the other (mostly younger) kids round and grabbing the toys off them. At the end she tried to have G's shopping basket (full of rattle eggs, obviously ;)) off him. I'd had enough so firmly (gently obviously, but she was damn determined to have it!)took her fingers off and moved her hands away telling her G was playing with it and there were some more eggs over there that she could play with. It worked, and she went and got more eggs and carefully put them in his basket. But I still felt uncomfortable with my self :(. Her mum clearly saw what her daughter was up to and made a couple of half hearted attempts to tell her not to but didn't move off her cushion.

Katie, I think I would have reacted exactly the way you did; i.e. I would have said something, and then I would have felt a bit awkward about it! But every now and then I think it's entirely the right thing to do :o

I loooove the new Paddington Bear collection from baby Gap. Just as well everything's too small for my LO, or I'd end up spending my January wages in one big swoop :o

HV came today, waste of time other than weighing. Isabella is now 8lb 7oz at 19 days, so happy :)

Met up with the NCT girls for coffee this afternoon, all but one baby (including mine) ended up crying in sync at one point! Was good to have some proper conversation though, even if it was comparing different baby things e.g. poos, nappys, etc

Have a lovely time Saffa :)

Oh my days! A would still fit into it and I want it all! I've spent some of his birthday vouchers in Next the past few days so I really must refrain, I just ordered another few bits tonight  He has a much better wardrobe than me :o

:rotfl:I'm in a similar situation - my LO has lots of nice clothes, whereas my wardrobe is in serious need of some TLC.

Bought new wellies and shoes for LO today, which was entirely justified - her feet had grown and the lady in Clarks told me her old shoes would only be OK for another week or two :o OK, so I could have bought the half price shoes at £16 rather than the full price ones at £32, but they were sooooo much nicer! :o
  • Glad you had a better night Rummer. My nights are getting better too.

Nutella thanks for the encouragement to buy more clothes lol they are lovely

Katiechoc I don't know what to do about that issue - I'm reluctant to lay hands on other people's kids. Yesterday I had finally got LO to nap on a rug at baby group but a toddler thought he was some sort of toy. His mum was breastfeeding his brother and told him to stop. I tried to form some sort of barrier without touching him and told him to stop. He kept touching LO in the face and LO woke up screaming. His mum said sorry. LO really needed the nap tho!

Katiechoc - I never know what to do about that either. I have the same problem with my sisters' children, she doesn't tell them off for anything and just laughs when they're naughty. So I find myself telling them off and then feeling bad as they're not my own.

We ran out of clean up to 1 month sleepsuits last night so I've put Isabella in a 0-3 month sleepsuit, the legs are just a little too long but the rest fits!!! Can't believe my tiny baby has grown so much in 19 days, it's madness!!! I'm sure her cousins stayed tiny for longer, but then they did have dairy allergies so refused their milk. She's one of the biggest out of our nct group now, even though she's 2nd youngest.
