wow so good to hear good weight gains for breastfed babies. I'm still a little worried about my LO's weight but not gonna beat myself up too much. After all the night time feeding with the sleep regression he must be gaining weight!
Continual and Bangton *big hugs* it's only me and OH too. It really gets to me with the sleep regression as OH has resorted to sleeping in a different room leaving me to deal with screaming child in the small hours on my own. Grandparents live 100s of miles away. LO goes into a creche for 2 hours while I do a first aid course at a sure start centre - it's very interesting to see what other people think of LO. They said he's very talkative and makes lots of different sounds so they knew his parents talk to him a lot. I go to lots of baby groups to keep myself sane. My local surestart is only a pushchair trip away but I would be lost without my car to go to the other groups.
good luck everyone, it's so hard having a LO!0 -
Wow Nutella £10k over the asking is amazing! Hope your solicitors are quicker than ours *grumble grumble* I've started emailing ours every morning. I figure if I annoy her enough she might annoy the other solicitors too and get everyone so sick of us they do it super quick!
Sorry to hear you're feeling low Bangton and CD. Its hard when you don't have anyone around to meet during the day just to get out of the house. Bangton do you have a library nearer to you? Ours do a couple of things a week for LOs, rhymetime, storytimes etc. Maybe worth a try? I was very lucky with the local meet a mum section on netmums, met one mum through it when G was 9 weeks old and have a good few mums I met through her and still see regularly now.
Thanks for suggestion Katie. No unfortunately we don't even have a library but we are thinking of moving somewhere with more things to do so I'll bear that in mind as it sounds like something id like! I've talked to oh though and we've decided he'll get a lift on a Wednesday so I can go to baby sensory and on Fridays Thank god baby massage starts and that is at local school so I can walk there. Feel more positive. I've got so tired from broken nights sleep that I just lost it this morning but oh has been so sweet and reassuring. I've decided while i can't force lo into a routine I can roughly do things each day to keep me sane. A nice walk in a morning so lo can have a nap or just some calm if he won't nap as at the moment that's his worse part of day. He's been golden all afternoon today too so that helps although I'm gearing up for a bad night as he's whimpering and has cough so worried he's off colour0 -

Thankfully my Oh helps in night when he gets tough but of course he works so it's limited but I feel for you so much on that front! Having a baby is the hardest thing I've ever done and the worse thing is I know he's lovely and pretty placid and I'm lucky as hell so I feel like such A crap mum as I just get so lost and anxious when he cries and I don't know what to do! ! I'm great when he's great and worried sick when he's not! The creche thing is interesting. I wanted to do a sign language course at college and thought it was out of question with lo. It's only 2 hrs... glad you posted as I'd never have thought of that. Thank you x0 -
Evening all
Gilly, I can't believe A is almost 2 - where has time gone? Hope you find a house you love soon
Katie, good luck with the solicitors - it sounds like being a pain is definitely the way to go!
Vic, hope your LO is OK now after the jabs?
Continual, it would probably be worth having your flat valued again, as property prices have gone up in the last few months. I'd also get valuations from a couple of different agents if I were you - we had two done, and the difference between the lower valuation from Agent 1 and the upper valuation from Agent 2 was £30k, and we've now accepted an offer of an additional £10k. A difference of £40k - we're very pleased we didn't go with the first valuation! We've also been very lucky though in that we bought in the right place at the right time - our flat has doubled in value in 10 years
I promise that next time I log on here I will have something to say about babies and small children. Enough house moving talk before I bore you all silly!
LO has discovered the word 'mine'. Anything and everything is 'MINE!' :rotfl:0 -
Thanks Nutella. Thomas is fine after the jabs so far. In fact, he has cried less today than most days! Brave little boy.
Congrats on the house sale...10k over is very impressive!DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
This sentence alone proves you are a brilliant mum in my opinion

Thank youthat's lovely, really Thank you x we've got baby sensory today and I can't wait as it's my first proper 'baby club'. Hope you all have good days...feeling better today had an early night and some short but quality time with oh . The world's better without a fog of tiredness!!!!

Wow Nutella re your property price going up that nicely in 10 years. We bought our flat at the wrong time looking back (7 years ago) but of course how do you know when you buy property that is it the wrong time....
Thought we'd wait until my parents & sister have visited to get it valued again and will probably put it up for sale just to see if we have any interest at the end of the day.
We've already said no more children until we have more space as we just have 2 bedrooms and the amount of stuff we have everywhere with one baby is enough .
Re courses I must admit my sure start centre is pretty good. They have a cooking course aimed at meals for under 5's and I've put my name down to do a craft course, think that starts in April. Just £10 for materials and its for 2 hours every Wednesday at which they have a creche that is free.
Been debating last night if I go back to work full time, gulp.....OH was made redundant last Feb and was out of work until June at which he's taken on a minimum wage job which has been a massive drop in wages for him. As it stands I earn a lot more than he does now and at the moment we're better off finanically if he works 4 days a week and me 5.
But LO would only go to a childminder 3 days a week as my OH has Thurs off as he works Sat. So would be ideal if he worked Mon-Wed had Thurs/Fri off with her. Obviously I'm off Sat/Sun and even though the 3 of us would only get Sun together I work in a school so the 3 of us would get Thurs/Fri together in the school holidays and I'd be home by 4pm as my work is like 10mins away.
Really don't want to work full time, however it's not as a horrible feeling knowing LO will be with her daddy rather than with a child minder 5 days a week.
It just seems a bit silly for me to be the one to work part time given our situation at the moment.
LO is finally down for her nap. Changed her mind this morning and decided after her 8oz bottle at 6:15am that she was staying up. Normally she wants her bed back and sleeps till roughly 8:30am and now I would be giving her a small bottle.
Hoping she's in a good mood this afternoon for baby yoga.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
kerri forgot to reply about feeding on demand. I formula feed and was told by hospital and health visitor to feed on demand so I'm pretty sure it's going to be the same with bf. When he was about 4 weeks old he was taking in 4-5oz every 1.5hrs and I thought it was too much but hv said to keep feeding on demand regardless. He's never been too heavy and now at 16 weeks I tend not to demand feed but only because he gets so busy nosying and playing he's going through a phase of being less interested in milk. If he cries or babbles for milk I give it him as required, otherwise I keep an eye on clock and feed him no later than 4hrs apart. Basically I've always been encouraged to demand feed. I'm not sure what the alternative would be? Restrict feeds and have a hungry, cranky baby?0

Thanks ladies I shall ignore the mw then, its the same one that can't use a tape measure so im glad were discharged from her now. LO woke at 2:30 and 5:30 last but so I'm feeling rested although going back to sleep for a bit longer whilst she naps. Nothing planned today so taking it easy
I've not looked into any baby groups here just yet, but reading about the ones some of you are attending I might do some research as to what's available, the first aid course sounds interesting.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
