  • Bangton you must be my twin, lol.

I as well have no one other than my OH to look after LO, well in the week that is. Weeks ago I mentioned to my OH that we could do with some time together and just go out for something to eat and could he see if his parents would baby sit on Sunday (yesterday). They're the only people we have. He never got round to asking them (I'm not that close to them so don't feel comfortable asking) which resulted in me having a melt down.

OH suggested we go out later in the afternoon to get some fitted mattress covers for LO bed. My 1st thought was 'gosh everything I do is related to LO, never anything just for me' and then last night I broke down and had a really good crying telling OH how I felt.

I've had an okay day with LO today, decided to go for a nice walk about 11am and loved walking in the crisp weather with the sun shinning. However I've had my moments saying to her 'just give me 5 mins to myself, let me finish my drink', lol. I have to say these thoughts out aloud sometimes as weirdly enough it just makes me feel better.

Well done Kerri. The 1st time without my OH I didn't make it into the lounge until the afternoon.

Congrats on surviving the first day solo Kerri! I'm in the opposite position - DH went back to work early so he could take 3 weeks now (paternity + time off in lieu) so have had him at home all day. It's been lovely, we actually saw friends this morning and then made it out of the house for a walk around the park and a cheeky diet coke this evening. DH did need a nap this afternoon though so I think he's appreciating how much work it is when I'm home alone :rotfl:

I'm very jealous Nutella - really want to move somewhere bigger and safer now LO is here. Hope your buyers get moving quickly so you can be in your new place soon.

I've succumbed too Oscar, some of those things are just too cute!

DH has just put Inara in her vibrating chair - she looks a bit bemused by the whole experience :rotfl:

I think I've over done it a bit today, going to have a lazier day tomorrow as I'm feeling a bit sore this evening.

Sorry you're feeling a bit blue continual, we don't have anyone close by either other than nct people and I wouldn't ask them to babysit. You do need a break every now and then though. Are there any recommended babysitters locally that you could use for the odd night out?

  • vic Thomas is having his jabs before Jack! We'll be having his 8wk jabs when he is 2 days off being 12wks... grr.

continual I hope you get a few hours to yourself soon - I'm in the same boat, don't live near enough family for sitters unless I arranged it weeks and weeks in advance - but even then I'll have to get my head around expressing, seeing if Jack will take milk from the bottle etc. ... exhausts me thinking about it. I ALWAYS tell him to give me five minutes and to just let me go to the loo (!) etc. definitely feels better saying it aloud :)

Just a question.... does anyone els's LO appear to have nightmares? It's horrible :( I wonder at 11weeks old what he has to be scared of/sad about (an empty boob??)... He is very happy and chatty when awake... but often wimpers and sometimes screams when in a deep sleep (completely asleep before and after).

Babamoose, why are they making him wait until 12 weeks? Don't they have another lot at 12 weeks?

  • A horrible (well... annoying) mix up with us not being able to register at the same doctor, his jabs being organised centrally at the wrong surgery... !
No idea when his 12week jabs will be, I presume he has to wait a bit after these ones so he isn't just being overloaded... I'll be asking on Thursday!

  • Good luck with the jabs Vic3, hope all goes well.

LO has a weigh in today ahead of her paediatric appointment tomorrow so hopefully we will have a good gain.
  • Baba my lo does whimper and sometimes wakes up screaming, done it from being tiny and still does now 10 months on :)
