Very true - and don't get me started on M&S pyjamas! Grrrr.

BOys M&S pjs are skinny fit too, have to squeeze him into them and peel them off, but it means he can't take the trousers off so easily when he's messing about going to bed!

Debenhams had some really nice stuff in their Bluezoo range reduced quite heavily last week by the way - we pretty much bought all of the 5-6 wardrobe (...for the not quite 3 year old!) in there - loads of nice soft jumpers and if you're not allergic to Peppa Pig - loads of nice long sleeve top and leggings outfits as well which is what we seem to live in these days with potty trips galore! It's not often I make it in there but it was nice (not as nice as last year when MIL picked up two designer winter coats that have seen us through all of this winter and probably a lot of the next for a fiver each though!)

As for draughty 1920s semis - tell me about that one! Although interestingly we moved from one identical house to another (we rented 3 doors down from where we ended up buying) and even with our knackered double glazing in this house... it's much warmer than down the road! Never ever did get my head around that one!

Just reading your comments about clothes sizes and I must have proper munchkins :rotfl:

Still struggling to get my now 3 year old into 2-3 clothes! She wears a lot of 18-24 month trousers that fit her well, all the 2-3 stuff needs rolling up.

Nearly 1 year old baby is best in 6-9 months. He's bigger generally but seems to have very short legs compared to his body. Apparently my brother was like this but he had growth spurts and ended up near 6ft so not worrying about it, it's just amusing.

My daughter on the other hand, she has her father's genes and none of the women on that side of the family have seen much over 5ft.

One thing I can say about having one of each - it really cuts down the unwanted questions about you having more children :D

I don't mind so much when you know people but it seems rude to me that total strangers are asking about your family plans!

If you don't have any you get asked when you are having some. When you have one you get told to have another one (3 days after having my daughter I was asked about number 2 by MIL ). If you have two the same sex people want to ask if you are trying again to have a boy/girl.

My friend who now has 3 girls still gets asked about trying for a boy...

The nosy people seem to think one of each is perfect and generally don't ask about number 3 ;)

Hahaha - now I want to be nosy and ask if there'll be a number 3, but I won't! :p We get asked about number 2 a lot, and I increasingly find myself answering that we already have 2. Granted, there's a 13-year age gap, I didn't actually give birth to OH's son and he doesn't live with us, but he's been in my life since he was two and I treat him as my own. It was me that he came to when he needed help with his sixth form application and interview prep recently. So there! :o

    Lol!

Don't mind on here ;) I'd love a number 3, but hubby is happy with our 2. We need to move to a bigger house this year before any more would be remotely practical, and the reality is I'm 40 in a few months so I can't assume that getting pregnant again will be that easy. I'm working on trying to accept that we are done but never say never ;)

I always said 3. Honestly though, the nausea with this one has made me say we will stop at 2. I literally can't stomach anything :(

  • Ladies, how am I meant to deal with nipping, biting or scratching?

Lo doesn't do it all the time but only does it to me and seems to be if I say no to something. He looks at me straight away to gauge my reaction and I'm afraid to say sometimes I do tell him off!! I can't help it, I'm gutted that he does it and want him to know that it's not nice but I think I'm handling it wrong and I'm annoyed at myself for it. Help :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • My LO went through a stage of smaking and biting me too. What I used to do, was be consistent every time he did it. So whatever method you choose, don't stray from it. For us, I would sternly tell him no and if he did it again I sat him either in the hallway away from us. He would paddy it out and then I would go to him and explain it's not kind etc and ask him to say sorry. It usually worked and he would say sorry and give me a hug we would the completely change the subject and do something nice. I'd do the same method if we were at my mums or something to, he did it a couple of times at the shop and I just had to tell him no and ignore him until he said sorry.

For us, it was a phase and it did pass within a few weeks to be fair. X
