Hi Ladies
Hope you are all well. Not much news here but thought I would bump our thread a bit.
Spending spree done here too. Stocked up on some 3-4 bits and we were due new shoes, trainers, wellies and slippers as his feet have grown again! I really should stop spending now....although I did order him a bookcase earlier. More of a gift for me as I hate the basket we use at the moment and the fact he tips the contents out every night spending a good ten mins wading through before deciding what he wants!

since payday last Tuesday I have been on big spending spree! I can't stop buying LO clothes and toys. I just got him a happyland funfair off gumtree, it's so cute! I'm also buying some nice full price clothes in Next because they are so cool. I love the little superhero range. LO is 16 months and still in 6-9 trousers and 9-12 tops. I figure it's ok to splurge on clothes cos I get much better value than most!
sunshine glad you enjoyed the spending, are you looking forward to buying clothes for your next LO? I'm determined to put the same clothes on the next (If there is a next) even if it's a girl!0 -
Morning all, A's first full day at nursery today, I don't start until next week, so I have a week of freedom, woohoo. Which of course means get the house sorted out, which isn't so woohoo. I'm  at age 3-4, we bought some nursery stuff yesterday from sainsburys and 2 pairs of 18-24 trousers have to go back as they won't stay up.
crazy.
Hope you're keeping ok Sunshine. Xx
P.s was thinking about Sammie and Noah the other day, anyone know how they're getting on?The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Oh yeah It was A's bday last week, we had a gruffalo themed tea party for him at the weekend. I allowed myself one slice of cake since I'm back at slimming world, againThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Hi everyone!
Sunshine - how are you feeling with the pregnancy now? Hope all is well.
I left my job on friday (redundancy ) and now have week off before my new job. LO is at nursery and although I'll have to pay I'll probably take him out for a couple of days. I've been wary about having him the full week as he struggled to settle back in after Christmas so I've taken today to clean up properly and tomorrow to get some new clothes for my new job. Feeling very odd being on my own and slightly depressing tbh but I've had chance to clear out really babyish toys and old baby things we don't need.
Have a lovely week everyone x0 -
Hi ladies
Hope that today goes well for A Gillyx, and hope that he had a lovely birthday too. You're very good only allowing yourself one small slice of cake! Far better than I could ever be!
Good luck for your new job next week x
Bangton, enjoy the time to yourself - and especially shopping on your own... it is SO much quicker, and you can have a proper sit down and a cuppa as a treat after! Luxury! A is 21 months old now, and there are times when I will put off going into a store because it can be so challenging.
This morning we were buying some cards in a card shop. As I was choosing one, she started shouting that she wanted a snack. So I told her that she isn't allowed to shout because that lady (pointed to the checkout lady) would put her in a box. She immediately shut up and was good as gold the rest of the time in the shop. When I told her that, another customer burst out laughing next to me... she winked and said "that worked!".
She has been ever so challenging just recently. I am just hoping the flights will be enough of a new environment and new experience to help her settle down and behave for me. I have packed her trunki with a selection of quiet toys: drawing (wind ups, colour magic, aquadoodle, magnetic sketch thing), stickers, her baby and Chichi, some books, travel puzzle, headphones (for my tablet). I also got her two little cups and a tiny teapot in the pound shop today to slip in as she loves making "tea" for me. I am debating wrapping some of her things as "presents" as it will give another few minutes entertainment and could be a handy diversion as she does enjoy opening a present. Opinions?
I also picked up a couple syringes today as have been wondering how I will get the anti-malarial into her. The nurse suggested crushing it and mixing it into some food. However, that would change the flavour of the food and if she didn't like it, she'll just refuse so I read about some people having crushed it and mixed it with a little liquid - milk/ juice and then syringe it into her. That sounds like it may work for us so is the plan I'm going with!
Hope that everyone has a lovely week

Congrats Sunshine... I sat and sobbed the first night home after having R about how I must have ruined E's life... they're utterly inseperable now! (Even if they do wind each other up no end and nag at each other - R's getting it in the neck at the moment about not using her spoon properly from the fount of big sisterly knowledge)
Mum's taken us clothes shopping to stock up the girls again - going to have to start putting Bobbi in 3-4 year stuff as her 2-3 stuff is getting short (she's ridiculously tall)... Erin has long since been in 3-4 and 4-5 stuff, and the 3-4 stuff is getting shifted over to her sister... they're only nearly 2 and nearly 3!!!! In preschool uniform (just a coloured logoed sweatshirt really) E can really pass for a primary age child - I've had to make a point of wearing her logoed sweatshirt rather than our plain coloured cardies if we're going anywhere after I pick her up in case I get stopped by truancy patrols not believing she's not bunking off from primary!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

My LO was 17 months when she took anti-malarial for the first time, and what worked for us was crushing it and hiding it in the first spoon of Weetabix at breakfast - she barely noticed because she was hungry and because Weetabix has quite a strong taste! It took a couple of weeks of trial and error to find something that worked, so fingers crossed you'll find something that works for you straight away. We'll need anti-malarial again for a holiday in May, when she'll be 3 - I fear it might be harder this time, so I think I'm going to explain it to her as she gets the concept of 'medicine'. Wish me luck!0 -
Dizzi - my LO will be 3 in May and we're in 5-6! I bought some stuff in 6-7 last week and some of it fits her now! :eek:0
